Athassa n±maggahaºadivase br±hmaº± sannipatitv± maº¹ape j±tatt± “maº¹abyakum±ro”ti n±ma½ kari½su. P±s±do pana dasahi m±sehi niµµhito. Tato paµµh±ya s± mahantena yasena tasmi½ vasati, maº¹abyakum±ropi mahantena pariv±rena va¹¹hati. Tassa sattaµµhavassak±leyeva jambud²patale uttam±cariy± sannipati½su. Te ta½ tayo vede uggaºh±pesu½. So so¼asavassak±lato paµµh±ya br±hmaº±na½ bhatta½ paµµhapesi, nibaddha½ so¼asa br±hmaºasahass±ni bhuñjanti. Catutthe dv±rakoµµhake br±hmaº±na½ d±na½ deti.
Athekasmi½ mah±mahadivase gehe bahu½ p±y±sa½ paµiy±desu½. So¼asa br±hmaºasahass±ni catutthe dv±rakoµµhake nis²ditv± suvaººarasavaººena navasappin± pakkamadhukhaº¹asakkhar±hi ca abhisaªkhata½ p±y±sa½ paribhuñjanti. Saªk±raco¼anti saªk±raµµh±ne laddhapilotika½. Paµimuñc±ti paµimuñcitv±. Adakkhiºeyyoti tva½ adakkhiºeyyo imesa½ paramadakkhiºeyy±na½ nisinnaµµh±na½ eko hutv± kuto ±gato.

2. “Anna½ taveda½ pakata½ yasassi, ta½ khajjare bhuñjare piyyare ca;
j±n±si ma½ tva½ paradatt³paj²vi½, uttiµµhapiº¹a½ labhata½ sap±ko”ti.
Tattha pakatanti paµiyatta½. Yasass²ti pariv±rasampanna. Ta½ khajjareti ta½ khajjanti ca bhuñjanti ca pivanti ca. Ki½k±raº± mayha½ kujjhasi? Uttiµµhapiº¹anti upatiµµhitv± labhitabbapiº¹a½, uµµh±ya µhitehi v± d²yam±na½ heµµh± µhatv± labhitabbapiº¹a½. Labhata½ sap±koti sap±ko caº¹±lopi labhatu. J±tisampann± hi yattha katthaci labhanti, sap±kacaº¹±lassa pana ko deti, dullabhapiº¹o aha½, tasm± me j²vitapavattanattha½ bhojana½ d±pehi, kum±r±ti.

3. “Anna½ mameda½ pakata½ br±hmaº±na½, attatth±ya saddahato mameda½;
apehi etto kimidhaµµhitosi, na m±dis± tumha½ dadanti jamm±”ti.
Tattha attatth±y±ti attano va¹¹hi-atth±ya. Apehi ettoti imamh± µh±n± apagaccha. Na m±dis±ti m±dis± j±tisampann±na½ udiccabr±hmaº±na½ d±na½ denti, na tuyha½ caº¹±lassa, gaccha, jamm±ti.
