V±rappatto phal±phala½ ±haritv± eko m±¼ako atthi, tattha p±s±ºaphalake ek±dasa koµµh±se katv± ghaº¹isañña½ katv± attano koµµh±sa½ ±d±ya vasanaµµh±na½ pavisati. Ses± ghaº¹isaññ±ya nikkhamitv± loluppa½ akatv± g±ravaparih±rena gantv± attano p±puºanakoµµh±sa½ ±d±ya vasanaµµh±na½ gantv± paribhuñjitv± samaºadhamma½ karonti. Tasmi½ assamapade vanajeµµhakarukkhe nibbattadevat±pi otaritv± ±gantv± tesa½yeva santike nis²di. ¾neñjakaraºa½ k±riyam±no dukkha½ adhiv±setu½ asakkonto ±¼±na½ bhinditv± pal±yitv± arañña½ paviµµho eko v±raºo k±lena k±la½ isigaºa½ vandati, sopi ±gantv± ekamanta½ aµµh±si. Sappak²¼±panako eko v±naro ahituº¹ikassa hatthato muccitv± pal±yitv± arañña½ pavisitv± tattheva assame vasati. Sopi ta½ divasa½ isigaºa½ vanditv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Sakko “isigaºa½ pariggaºhiss±m²”ti tesa½ santike adissam±nak±yo aµµh±si. Tasmi½ khaºeva bodhisattassa kaniµµho upakañcanat±paso uµµh±y±san± bodhisatta½ vanditv± ses±na½ apaciti½ dassetv± “±cariya, aha½ aññe apaµµhapetv± att±naññeva sodhetu½ labh±m²”ti pucchi. “¾ma, labhas²”ti. So isigaºamajjhe µhatv± “sace te may± bhis±ni kh±dit±ni, evar³po n±ma hot³”ti sapatha½ karonto paµhama½ g±tham±ha–

Ta½ sutv± isigaºo “m±risa, m± eva½ kathetha, atibh±riyo te sapatho”ti kaººe pidahi. Bodhisattopi na½ “t±ta, atibh±riyo te sapatho, na tva½ kh±dasi, tava patt±sane nis²d±”ti ±ha. Tasmi½ paµhama½ sapatha½ katv± nisinne dutiyopi bh±t± sahas± uµµh±ya mah±satta½ vanditv± sapathena att±na½ sodhento dutiya½ g±tham±ha–

k±mesu tibba½ kuruta½ apekkha½, bhis±ni te br±hmaºa yo ah±s²”ti.
Tattha tibbanti vatthuk±makilesak±mesu bahala½ apekkha½ karot³ti. Ida½ so “yassetesu tibb± apekkh± honti, so tehi vippayoge mahanta½ dukkha½ p±puº±t²”ti dukkhapaµikkhepavaseneva ±ha.

Tattha tatiyena vuttag±th±ya kasim±ti sampannakasikammo. Putte gih² dhanim± sabbak±meti putte labhatu, gih² hotu, sattavidhena ratanadhanena dhanim± hotu, r³p±dibhede sabbak±me labhatu. Vaya½ apassanti mahallakak±le pabbajj±nur³pampi attano vaya½ apassanto pañcak±maguºasamiddha½ gharameva ±vasat³ti. Ida½ so “pañcak±maguºagiddho k±maguºavippayogena mah±vin±sa½ p±puº±t²”ti dassetu½ kathesi.
Catutthena vuttag±th±ya r±j±bhir±j±ti r±j³na½ antare abhir±j±ti. Ida½ so “issar±na½ n±ma issariye parigalite mahanta½ dukkha½ uppajjat²”ti rajje dosa½ dassento kathesi. Pañcamena vuttag±th±ya av²tar±goti purohitaµµh±nataºh±ya sataºhoti. Ida½ so “purohitassa purohitaµµh±ne parigalite mahanta½ domanassa½ uppajjat²”ti dassetu½ kathesi. Chaµµhena vuttag±th±ya tapassinanti tapas²lasampannoti ta½ maññatu. Ida½ so “l±bhasakk±r±pagamena mahanta½ domanassa½ uppajjat²”ti l±bhasakk±ragarahavasena kathesi.
Sah±yat±pasena vuttag±th±ya catussadanti ±kiººamanussat±ya manussehi, pah³tadhaññat±ya dhaññena, sulabhad±rut±ya d±r³hi, sampannodakat±ya udaken±ti cat³hi ussanna½, catussadasamann±gatanti attho. V±saven±ti v±savena dinna½ viya acala½, v±savato laddhavar±nubh±vena eka½ r±j±na½ ±r±dhetv± tena dinnantipi attho. Av²tar±goti kaddame s³karo viya k±mapaªke nimuggova hutv±. Iti sopi k±m±na½ ±d²nava½ kathento evam±ha.
D±sena vuttag±th±ya g±maº²ti g±majeµµhako. Ayampi k±me garahantoyeva evam±ha. Kañcanadeviy± vuttag±th±ya yanti ya½ itthinti attho. Ekar±j±ti aggar±j±. Itthisahass±nanti vacanamaµµhat±ya vutta½, so¼asanna½ itthisahass±na½ aggaµµh±ne µhapet³ti attho. S²mantin²nanti s²mantadhar±na½ itth²nanti attho. Iti s± itthibh±ve µhatv±pi duggandhag³thar±si½ viya k±me garahant²yeva evam±ha. D±siy± vuttag±th±ya sabbasam±gat±nanti sabbesa½ sannipatit±na½ majjhe nis²ditv± avikampam±n± anosakkam±n± s±durasa½ bhuñjat³ti attho. D±s²na½ kira s±mikassa santike nis²ditv± bhuñjana½ n±ma appiya½. Iti s± attano appiyat±ya evam±ha. Car±t³ti caratu. L±bhena vikattham±n±ti l±bhahetu kuhanakamma½ karont² l±bhasakk±ra½ upp±dent² carat³ti attho. Devat±ya vuttag±th±ya ±v±sikoti ±v±sajagganako. Gajaªgal±yanti eva½n±make nagare. Tattha kira dabbasambh±r± sulabh±. ¾lokasandhi½ divasanti ekadivaseneva v±tap±na½ karotu. So kira devaputto kassapabuddhak±le gajaªgalanagara½ niss±ya yojanike jiººamah±vih±re ±v±sikasaªghatthero hutv± jiººavih±re navakamma½ karontoyeva mah±dukkha½ anubhavi. Tasm± tadeva dukkha½ ±rabbha evam±ha. Hatthin± vuttag±th±ya p±sasateh²ti bah³hi p±sehi. Chabbh²ti cat³su p±desu g²v±ya kaµibh±ge c±ti chasu µh±nesu. Tutteh²ti dvikaº¹ak±hi d²ghalaµµh²hi. P±caneh²ti dasap±canehi aªkusehi v±. So kira attano anubh³tadukkhaññeva ±rabbha evam±ha.
V±narena vuttag±th±ya alakkam±l²ti ahituº¹ikena kaºµhe parikkhipitv± µhapit±ya alakkam±l±ya samann±gato. Tipukaººaviddhoti tipupi¼andhanena pi¼andhakaººo. Laµµh²hatoti sappak²¼a½ sikkh±payam±no laµµhiy± hato hutv±. Esopi ahituº¹ikassa hatthe attano anubh³tadukkhameva sandh±ya evam±ha.
Eva½ tehi terasahi janehi sapathe kate mah±satto cintesi “kad±ci ime ‘aya½ anaµµhameva naµµhanti kathet²’ti mayi ±saªka½ kareyyu½, ahampi sapatha½ karom²”ti. Atha na½ karonto cuddasama½ g±tham±ha–
91. “Yo ve anaµµha½va naµµhanti c±ha, k±meva so labhata½ bhuñjatañca;
ag±ramajjhe maraºa½ upetu, yo v± bhonto saªkati kañcidev±”ti.
Tattha bhontoti ±lapana½. Ida½ vutta½ hoti– bhavanto yo anaµµhe koµµh±se “naµµha½ me”ti vadati, yo v± tumhesu kañci ±saªkati, so pañca k±maguºe labhatu ceva bhuñjatu ca, ramaº²yameva pabbajja½ alabhitv± ag±ramajjheyeva marat³ti.
Eva½ is²hi sapathe kate sakko bh±yitv± “aha½ ime v²ma½santo bhis±ni antaradh±pesi½. Ime ca cha¹¹itakhe¼apiº¹a½ viya k±me garahant± sapatha½ karonti, k±me garahak±raºa½ te pucchiss±m²”ti cintetv± dissam±nar³po bodhisatta½ vanditv± pucchanto anantara½ g±tham±ha–
92. “Yadesam±n± vicaranti loke, iµµhañca kantañca bah³nameta½;
piya½ manuñña½ cidha j²valoke, kasm± isayo nappasa½santi k±me”ti.
Tattha yadesam±n±ti ya½ vatthuk±ma½ kilesak±mañca kasigorakkh±d²hi samavisamakammehi pariyesam±n± satt± loke vicaranti, eta½ bah³na½ devamanuss±na½ iµµhañca kantañca piyañca manuññañca, kasm± isayo nappasa½santi k±meti attho. “K±me”ti imin± ta½ vatthu½ sar³pato dasseti.

93. “K±mesu ve haññare bajjhare ca, k±mesu dukkhañca bhayañca j±ta½;
k±mesu bh³t±dhipat² pamatt±, p±p±ni kamm±ni karonti moh±.
94. “Te p±padhamm± pasavetva p±pa½, k±yassa bhed± niraya½ vajanti;
±d²nava½ k±maguºesu disv±, tasm± isayo nappasa½santi k±me”ti.
Tattha k±mes³ti k±mahetu, k±me niss±ya k±yaduccarit±d²ni karont²ti attho. Haññareti daº¹±d²hi haññanti. Bajjhareti rajjubandhan±d²hi bajjhanti. Dukkhanti k±yikacetasika½ as±ta½ dukkha½. Bhayanti att±nuv±d±dika½ sabbampi bhaya½. Bh³t±dhipat²ti sakka½ ±lapati. ¾d²navanti evar³pa½ dosa½. So panesa ±d²navo dukkhakkhandh±d²hi suttehi (ma. ni. 1.163-180) d²petabbo.

suddh± ap±p± isayo vasanti, et±ni te brahmac±r² bhis±n²”ti.
Tattha vima½sam±noti bhante, aha½ “ime isayo k±m±dhimutt± v±, no v±”ti v²ma½santo. Isinoti tava mahesino santak±ni bhis±ni. T²re gahetv±n±ti t²re nikkhitt±ni gahetv± thale ekamante nidhesi½. Suddh±ti id±ni may± tumh±ka½ sapathakiriy±ya ñ±ta½ “ime isayo suddh± ap±p± hutv± vasant²”ti.

96. “Na te naµ± no pana k²¼aneyy±, na bandhav± no pana te sah±y±;
kismi½ vupatthambha sahassanetta, is²hi tva½ k²¼asi devar±j±”ti.
Tattha na te naµ± noti devar±ja, maya½ tava naµ± v± k²¼itabbayuttak± v± keci na homa, n±pi tava ñ±tak±, na sah±y±, atha tva½ ki½ v± upatthambha½ katv± ki½ niss±ya is²hi saddhi½ k²¼as²ti attho.
Atha na½ sakko kham±pento v²satima½ g±tham±ha–
97. “¾cariyo mesi pit± ca mayha½, es± patiµµh± khalitassa brahme;
ek±par±dha½ khama bh³ripañña, na paº¹it± kodhabal± bhavant²”ti.
Tattha es± patiµµh±ti es± tava p±dacch±y± ajja mama khalitassa aparaddhassa patiµµh± hotu. Kodhabal±ti paº¹it± n±ma khantibal± bhavanti, na kodhabal±ti.
Atha mah±satto sakkassa devarañño khamitv± saya½ isigaºa½ kham±pento itara½ g±tham±ha–
98. “Suv±sita½ isina½ ekaratta½, ya½ v±sava½ bh³tapatiddas±ma;
sabbeva bhonto suman± bhavantu, ya½ br±hmaºo paccup±d² bhis±n²”ti.
Tattha suv±sita½ isina½ ekarattanti ±yasmant±na½ is²na½ ekarattampi imasmi½ araññe vasita½ suvasitameva. Ki½k±raº±? Ya½ v±sava½ bh³tapati½ addas±ma, sace hi maya½ nagare avasimha, ima½ na addas±ma. Bhontoti bhavanto sabbepi suman± bhavantu, tussantu, sakkassa devarañño khamantu. Ki½k±raº±? Ya½ br±hmaºo paccup±d² bhis±ni, yasm± tumh±ka½ ±cariyo bhis±ni paµilabh²ti.
Sakko isigaºa½ vanditv± devalokameva gato. Isigaºopi jh±n±bhiññ±yo nibbattetv± brahmalok³pago ahosi.
