Yesa½ taºh±diµµhilep±na½ vasena s±savakhandh±dibhedesu sabbadhammesu upalimpati, tesa½ lep±na½ abh±v± tesu sabbesu dhammesu anupalitta½. Tesu ca sabbadhammesu chandar±g±bh±vena sabbe te dhamme jahitv± µhitatt± sabbañjaha½. Upadhivivekaninnena cittena taºhakkhaye nibb±ne visesena muttatt± taºhakkhaye vimutta½, adhimuttanti vutta½ hoti. Tattha “g±me v± yadi v±raññe”ti imiss± g±th±ya vuttanayeneva revatattherassa ±dito pabhuti pabbajj±, pabbajitassa khadiravane vih±ro, tattha viharato vises±dhigamo, bhagavato tattha gamanapacc±gamanañca veditabba½. Pacc±gate pana bhagavati yo so mahallakabhikkhu up±hana½ sammussitv± paµinivatto khadirarukkhe ±laggita½ disv± s±vatthi½ anuppatto vis±kh±ya up±sik±ya “ki½, bhante, revatattherassa vasanok±so ramaº²yo”ti bhikkh³ puccham±n±ya yehi bhikkh³hi pasa½sito, te apas±dento “up±sike, ete tuccha½ bhaºanti, na sundaro bh³mippadeso, atil³khakakkha¼a½ khadiravanamev±”ti ±ha. So vis±kh±ya ±gantukabhatta½ bhuñjitv± pacch±bhatta½ maº¹alam±¼e sannipatite bhikkh³ ujjh±pento ±ha– “ki½, ±vuso, revatattherassa sen±sane ramaº²ya½ tumhehi diµµhan”ti Bhagav± ta½ ñatv± gandhakuµito nikkhamma taªkhaº±nur³pena p±µih±riyena parisamajjha½ patv±, buddh±sane nis²ditv± bhikkh³ ±mantesi– “k±ya nuttha, bhikkhave, etarahi kath±ya sannisinn±”ti? Te ±ha½su– “revata½, bhante, ±rabbha kath± uppann± ‘eva½ navakammiko kad± samaºadhamma½ karissat²”’ti. “Na, bhikkhave, revato navakammiko, arah± revato kh²º±savo”ti vatv± ta½ ±rabbha tesa½ bhikkh³na½ dhammadesanattha½ ima½ g±thamabh±si.

Bodhimaº¹ato pabhuti yath±kkama½ kapilavatthu½ anuppatte bhagavati pit±puttasam±game vattam±ne bhagav± sammodam±nena raññ± suddhodanena “tumhe, bhante, gahaµµhak±le gandhakaraº¹ake v±sit±ni k±sik±d²ni duss±ni niv±setv± id±ni katha½ chinnak±ni pa½suk³l±ni dh±reth±”ti evam±din± vutto r±j±na½ anunayam±no–
“Ya½ tva½ t±ta vade mayha½, paµµuººa½ duk³lak±sika½;
pa½suk³la½ tato seyya½, eta½ me abhipatthitan”ti.–

Tassattho yath± n±ma ogahaºe manuss±na½ nh±natitthe aªgagha½sanatth±ya caturasse v± aµµha½se v± thambhe nikh±te uccakul²n±pi n²cakul²n±pi aªga½ gha½santi, na tena thambhassa unnati v± onati v± hoti. Evameva½ yo ogahaºe thambhoriv±bhij±yati yasmi½ pare v±c±pariyanta½ vadanti. Ki½ vutta½ hoti? Yasmi½ vatthusmi½ pare titthiy± v± aññe v± vaººavasena uparima½ v± avaººavasena heµµhima½ v± v±c±pariyanta½ vadanti, tasmi½ vatthusmi½ anunaya½ v± paµigha½ v± an±pajjam±no t±dibh±vena yo ogahaºe thambhoriva bhavat²ti. Ta½ v²tar±ga½ susam±hitindriyanti ta½ iµµh±rammaºe r±g±bh±vena v²tar±ga½, aniµµh±rammaºe ca dosamoh±bh±vena susam±hitindriya½, suµµhu v± samodh±netv± µhapitindriya½, rakkhitindriya½, gopitindriyanti vutta½ hoti. S±vatthiya½ kira aññatar± seµµhidh²t± p±s±d± oruyha heµµh±p±s±de tantav±yas±la½ gantv± tasara½ vaµµente disv± tassa ujubh±vena tappaµibh±ganimitta½ aggahesi– “aho vata sabbe satt± k±yavac²manovaªka½ pah±ya tasara½ viya ujucitt± bhaveyyun”ti. S± p±s±da½ abhiruhitv±pi punappuna½ tadeva nimitta½ ±vajjent² nis²di. Eva½ paµipann±ya cass± na cirasseva aniccalakkhaºa½ p±kaµa½ ahosi, tadanus±reneva ca dukkh±nattalakkhaº±nipi. Athass± tayopi bhav± ±ditt± viya upaµµhahi½su. Ta½ tath± vipassam±na½ ñatv± bhagav± gandhakuµiya½ nisinnova obh±sa½ muñci. Yato ²diso hot²ti kh²º±savamuni½ dassento arahattanik³µena g±tha½ desesi. Desan±pariyos±ne seµµhidh²t± sot±pattiphale patiµµhahi. Ettha ca vikappe v± samuccaye v± v±saddo daµµhabbo.

Bhagavati kira ±¼aviya½ viharante ±¼av²nagare aññataro tantav±yo sattavassika½ dh²tara½ ±º±pesi– “amma, hiyyo avasiµµhatasara½ na bahu, tasara½ vaµµetv± lahu½ tantav±yas±la½ ±gaccheyy±si, m± kho cir±y²”ti. S± “s±dh³”ti sampaµicchi. So s±la½ gantv± tanta½ vinento aµµh±si. Ta½ divasañca bhagav± mah±karuº±sam±pattito vuµµh±ya loka½ volokento tass± d±rik±ya sot±pattiphal³panissaya½ desan±pariyos±ne catur±s²tiy± p±ºasahass±nañca dhamm±bhisamaya½ disv± pageva sar²rapaµijaggana½ katv± pattac²varam±d±ya nagara½ p±visi. Manuss± bhagavanta½ disv±– “addh± ajja koci anuggahetabbo atthi, pageva paviµµho bhagav±”ti bhagavanta½ upagacchi½su. Bhagav± yena maggena s± d±rik± pitusantika½ gacchati, tasmi½ aµµh±si. Nagarav±sino ta½ padesa½ sammajjitv±, paripphositv±, pupph³pah±ra½ katv±, vit±na½ bandhitv±, ±sana½ paññ±pesu½. Nis²di bhagav± paññatte ±sane, mah±janak±yo pariv±retv± aµµh±si.
