Kasibh±radv±jasutte vuttanayena pacch±bhattakicc±vas±ne buddhacakkhun± loka½ volokento aggikabh±radv±ja½ br±hmaºa½ saraºasikkh±pad±na½ upanissayasampanna½ disv± “tattha mayi gate kath± pavattissati, tato kath±vas±ne dhammadesana½ sutv± esa br±hmaºo saraºa½ gantv± sikkh±pad±ni sam±diyissat²”ti ñatv±, tattha gantv±, pavatt±ya kath±ya br±hmaºena dhammadesana½ y±cito ima½ sutta½ abh±si. Tattha “eva½ me sutan”ti-±di½ maªgalasuttavaººan±ya½ vaººayiss±ma, “atha kho bhagav± pubbaºhasamayan”ti-±di kasibh±radv±jasutte vuttanayeneva veditabba½.
Tena kho pana samayena aggikabh±radv±jass±ti ya½ ya½ avuttapubba½, ta½ tadeva vaººayiss±ma. Seyyathida½– so hi br±hmaºo aggi½ juhati paricarat²ti katv± aggikoti n±mena p±kaµo ahosi, bh±radv±joti gottena. Tasm± vutta½ “aggikabh±radv±jass±”ti. Nivesaneti ghare. Tassa kira br±hmaºassa nivesanadv±re antarav²thiya½ aggihutas±l± ahosi. Tato “nivesanadv±re”ti vattabbe tassapi padesassa nivesaneyeva pariy±pannatt± “nivesane”ti vutta½. Sam²patthe v± bhummavacana½, nivesanasam²peti attho. Atha kimattha½ sabb±k±rasampanna½ samantap±s±dika½ bhagavanta½ disv± br±hmaºassa citta½ nappas²dati? Kasm± ca eva½ pharusena vacanena bhagavanta½ samud±carat²ti? Vuccate– aya½ kira br±hmaºo “maªgalakiccesu samaºadassana½ avamaªgalan”ti eva½diµµhiko, tato “mah±brahmuno bhuñjanavel±ya k±¼akaºº² muº¹akasamaºako mama nivesana½ upasaªkamat²”ti mantv± citta½ nappas±desi, aññadatthu dosavasa½yeva agam±si. Atha kuddho anattamano anattamanav±ca½ nicch±resi “tatreva muº¹ak±”ti-±di. Tatr±pi ca yasm± “muº¹o asuddho hot²”ti br±hmaº±na½ diµµhi, tasm± “aya½ asuddho, tena devabr±hmaºap³jako na hot²”ti jigucchanto “muº¹ak±”ti ±ha. Muº¹akatt± v± ucchiµµho esa, na ima½ padesa½ arahati ±gacchitunti samaºo hutv±pi ²disa½ k±yakilesa½ na vaººet²ti ca samaºabh±va½ jigucchanto “samaºak±”ti ±ha. Na kevala½ dosavaseneva, vasale v± pabb±jetv± tehi saddhi½ ekato sambhogaparibhogakaraºena patito aya½ vasalatopi p±pataroti jigucchanto “vasalak±”ti ±ha– “vasalaj±tik±na½ v± ±hutidassanamattasavanena p±pa½ hot²”ti maññam±nopi evam±ha.
Bhagav± tath± vuttopi vippasanneneva mukhavaººena madhurena sarena br±hmaºassa upari anukamp±s²talena cittena attano sabbasattehi as±dh±raºat±dibh±va½ pak±sento ±ha “j±n±si pana, tva½ br±hmaº±”ti. Atha br±hmaºo bhagavato mukhappas±das³cita½ t±dibh±va½ ñatv± anukamp±s²talena cittena nicch±rita½ madhurassara½ sutv± amateneva abhisittahadayo attamano vippasannindriyo nihatam±no hutv± ta½ j±tisabh±va½ visa-uggirasadisa½ samud±c±ravacana½ pah±ya “n³na yamaha½ h²najacca½ vasalanti paccemi, na so paramatthato vasalo, na ca h²najaccat± eva vasalakaraºo dhammo”ti maññam±no “na khv±ha½, bho gotam±”ti ±ha. Dhammat± hes±, ya½ hetusampanno paccay±l±bhena pharusopi sam±no laddhamatte paccaye muduko hot²ti.
Tattha s±dh³ti aya½ saddo ±y±canasampaµicchanasampaha½sanasundarada¼h²kamm±d²su dissati. “S±dhu me, bhante, bhagav± sa½khittena dhamma½ deset³”ti-±d²su (sa½. ni. 4.95; a. ni. 7.83) hi ±y±cane. “S±dhu, bhanteti kho so bhikkhu bhagavato bh±sita½ abhinanditv± anumoditv±”ti-±d²su (ma. ni. 3.86) sampaµicchane. “S±dhu, s±dhu, s±riputt±”ti-±d²su (d². ni. 3.349) sampaha½sane.
“S±dhu dhammaruc² r±j±, s±dhu paññ±ºav± naro;

Tatra ca suº±h²ti sotindriyavikkhepav±raºa½, s±dhuka½ manasi karoh²ti manasik±re da¼h²kammaniyojanena manindriyavikkhepav±raºa½. Purimañcettha byañjanavipall±sagg±hav±raºa½, pacchima½ atthavipall±sagg±hav±raºa½ Purimena ca dhammassavane niyojeti, pacchimena sut±na½ dhamm±na½ dh±raºatth³paparikkh±d²su. Purimena ca “sabyañjano aya½ dhammo, tasm± savan²yo”ti d²peti, pacchimena “s±ttho, tasm± manasi k±tabbo”ti. S±dhukapada½ v± ubhayapadehi yojetv± “yasm± aya½ dhammo dhammagambh²ro ca desan±gambh²ro ca, tasm± suº±hi s±dhuka½. Yasm± atthagambh²ro paµivedhagambh²ro ca, tasm± s±dhuka½ manasi karoh²”ti etamattha½ d²pento ±ha– “suº±hi s±dhuka½ manasi karoh²”ti.
Tato “eva½ gambh²re kathamaha½ patiµµha½ labhiss±m²”ti vis²dantamiva ta½ br±hmaºa½ samuss±hento ±ha– “bh±siss±m²”ti. Tattha “yath± tva½ ñassasi, tath± parimaº¹alehi padabyañjanehi utt±nena nayena bh±siss±m²”ti evamadhipp±yo veditabbo. Tato uss±haj±to hutv± “eva½ bho”ti kho aggikabh±radv±jo br±hmaºo bhagavato paccassosi, sampaµicchi paµiggahes²ti vutta½ hoti, yath±nusiµµha½ v± paµipajjanena abhimukho assos²ti. Athassa “bhagav± etadavoc±”ti id±ni vattabba½ sandh±ya vutta½ “kodhano upan±h²”ti evam±dika½.
116. Tattha kodhanoti kujjhanas²lo. Upan±h²ti tasseva kodhassa da¼h²kammena upan±hena samann±gato. Paresa½ guºe makkheti puñchat²ti makkh², p±po ca so makkh² c±ti p±pamakkh². Vipannadiµµh²ti vinaµµhasamm±diµµhi, vipann±ya v± vir³pa½ gat±ya dasavatthuk±ya micch±diµµhiy± samann±gato. M±y±v²ti attani vijjam±nadosapaµicch±danalakkhaº±ya m±y±ya samann±gato. Ta½ jaññ± vasalo it²ti ta½ evar³pa½ puggala½ etesa½ h²nadhamm±na½ vassanato siñcanato anv±ssavanato “vasalo”ti j±neyy±ti, etehi sabbehi br±hmaºamatthake j±to. Ayañhi paramatthato vasalo eva, attano hadayatuµµhimatta½, na paranti. Evamettha bhagav± ±dipadeneva tassa br±hmaºassa kodhaniggaha½ katv± “kodh±didhammo h²napuggalo”ti puggal±dhiµµh±n±ya ca desan±ya kodh±didhamme desento ekena t±va pariy±yena vasalañca vasalakaraºe ca dhamme desesi. Eva½ desento ca “tva½ ahan”ti paravambhana½ attukka½sanañca akatv± dhammeneva samena ñ±yena ta½ br±hmaºa½ vasalabh±ve, att±nañca br±hmaºabh±ve µhapesi.
117. Id±ni y±ya½ br±hmaº±na½ diµµhi “kad±ci p±º±tip±ta-adinn±d±n±d²ni karontopi br±hmaºo ev±”ti. Tattha ekajoti µhapetv± aº¹aja½ avasesayonijo. So hi ekad± eva j±yati. Dvijoti aº¹ajo. So hi m±tukucchito aº¹akosato c±ti dvikkhattu½ j±yati. Ta½ ekaja½ v± dvija½ v±pi. Yodha p±ºanti yo idha satta½. Vihi½sat²ti k±yadv±rikacetan±samuµµhitena v± vac²dv±rikacetan±samuµµhitena v± payogena j²vit± voropeti. “P±º±ni hi½sat²”tipi p±µho. Tattha ekaja½ v± dvija½ v±ti eva½pabhed±ni yodha p±º±ni hi½sat²ti eva½ sambandho veditabbo. Yassa p±ºe day± natth²ti etena manas± anukamp±ya abh±va½ ±ha. Sesamettha vuttanayameva. Ito par±su ca g±th±su, yato ettakampi avatv± ito para½ utt±natth±ni pad±ni pariharant± avaººitapadavaººan±mattameva kariss±ma.
118. Hant²ti hanati vin±seti. Parirundhat²ti sen±ya pariv±retv± tiµµhati. G±m±ni nigam±ni c±ti ettha ca-saddena nagar±n²tipi vattabba½. Nigg±hako samaññ±toti imin± hananaparirundhanena g±manigamanagaragh±takoti loke vidito.
119. G±me v± yadi v±raññeti g±mopi nigamopi nagarampi sabbova idha g±mo saddhi½ upac±rena, ta½ µhapetv± sesa½ arañña½. Tasmi½ g±me v± yadi v±raññe ya½ paresa½ mam±yita½, ya½ parasatt±na½ pariggahitamapariccatta½ satto v± saªkh±ro v±. Theyy± adinnam±det²ti tehi adinna½ ananuññ±ta½ theyyacittena ±diyati, yena kenaci payogena yena kenaci avah±rena attano gahaºa½ s±dheti.

Iºam±d±y±ti attano santaka½ kiñci nikkhipitv± nikkhepaggahaºena v±, kiñci anikkhipitv± “ettakena k±lena ettaka½ va¹¹hi½ dass±m²”ti va¹¹higgahaºena v±, “ya½ ito udaya½ bhavissati, ta½ mayha½ m³la½ taveva bhavissat²”ti v± “udaya½ ubhinnampi s±dh±raºan”ti v± eva½ ta½ta½±yogaggahaºena v± iºa½ gahetv±. 122. Attahet³ti attano j²vitak±raº±, tath± parahetu. Dhanahet³ti sakadhanassa v± paradhanassa v± k±raº±. Ca-k±ro sabbattha vikappanattho. Sakkhipuµµhoti ya½ j±n±si, ta½ vadeh²ti pucchito. Mus± br³t²ti j±nanto v± “na j±n±m²”ti aj±nanto v± “j±n±m²”ti bhaºati, s±mike as±mike, as±mike ca s±mike karoti.
