45-46. Sace labheth±ti k± uppatti? Pubbe kira kassapassa bhagavato s±sane dve paccekabodhisatt± pabbajitv± v²sati vassasahass±ni gatapacc±gatavatta½ p³retv± devaloke uppann±. Tato cavitv± tesa½ jeµµhako b±r±ºasirañño putto ahosi, kaniµµho purohitassa putto ahosi. Te ekadivasa½yeva paµisandhi½ gahetv± ekadivasameva m±tukucchito nikkhamitv± sahapa½suk²¼itasah±yak± ahesu½. Purohitaputto paññav± ahosi. So r±japutta½ ±ha– “samma, tva½ pituno accayena rajja½ labhissasi, aha½ purohitaµµh±na½, susikkhitena ca sukha½ rajja½ anus±situ½ sakk±, ehi sippa½ uggahess±m±”ti. Tesa½ etadahosi– “amhehi sadis± ucc±kulik± n±ma natthi, atha ca panime manuss± yadi icchanti, amh±ka½ bhikkha½ denti, yadi ca nicchanti, na denti, imesa½ pana pabbajit±na½ evar³pa½ sakk±ra½ karonti, addh± ete kiñci sippa½ j±nanti, handa nesa½ santike sippa½ uggaºh±m±”ti.
Te manussesu paµikkantesu ok±sa½ labhitv± “ya½, bhante, tumhe sippa½ j±n±tha, ta½ amhepi sikkh±peth±”ti y±ci½su. Paccekabuddh± “na sakk± apabbajitena sikkhitun”ti ±ha½su. Te pabbajja½ y±citv± pabbaji½su. Tato nesa½ paccekabuddh± “eva½ vo niv±setabba½, eva½ p±rupitabban”ti-±din± nayena ±bhisam±c±rika½ ±cikkhitv± “imassa sippassa ek²bh±v±bhirati nipphatti, tasm± ekeneva nis²ditabba½, ekena caªkamitabba½, µh±tabba½, sayitabban”ti p±µiyekka½ paººas±lamada½su. Tato te attano attano paººas±la½ pavisitv± nis²di½su. Purohitaputto nisinnak±lato pabhuti cittasam±dh±na½ laddh± jh±na½ labhi. R±japutto muhutteneva ukkaºµhito tassa santika½ ±gato. So ta½ disv± “ki½, samm±”ti pucchi. “Ukkaºµhitomh²”ti ±ha. “Tena hi idha nis²d±”ti. So gantv± punapi muhutteneva ukkaºµhito purimanayeneva tikkhattu½ ±gato.
Tato na½ purohitaputto tatheva uyyojetv± tasmi½ gate cintesi “aya½ attano ca kamma½ h±peti, mama ca idh±bhikkhaºa½ ±gacchanto”ti. So paººas±lato nikkhamma arañña½ paviµµho. Itaro attano paººas±l±yeva nisinno punapi muhutteneva ukkaºµhito hutv± tassa paººas±la½ ±gantv± ito cito ca maggantopi ta½ adisv± cintesi– “yo gahaµµhak±le paºº±k±rampi ±d±ya ±gato ma½ daµµhu½ na labhati, so n±ma mayi ±gate dassanampi ad±tuk±mo pakk±mi, aho, re citta, na lajjasi, ya½ ma½ catukkhattu½ idh±nesi, sod±ni te vase na vattiss±mi, aññadatthu ta½yeva mama vase vatt±pess±m²”ti attano sen±sana½ pavisitv± vipassana½ ±rabhitv± paccekabodhi½ sacchikatv± ±k±sena nandam³lakapabbh±ra½ agam±si. Itaropi arañña½ pavisitv± vipassana½ ±rabhitv± paccekabodhi½ sacchikatv± tattheva agam±si. Te ubhopi manosil±tale nis²ditv± p±µiyekka½ p±µiyekka½ im± ud±nag±th±yo abh±si½su–
“Sace labhetha nipaka½ sah±ya½, saddhi½ cara½ s±dhuvih±ri dh²ra½;

Idha pana dhitisampannamev±ti attho. Dhiti n±ma asithilaparakkamat±, “k±ma½ taco ca nh±ru c±”ti (ma. ni. 2.184; a. ni. 2.5; mah±ni. 196) eva½ pavattav²riyasseta½ adhivacana½. Apica dhikatap±potipi dh²ro. R±j±va raµµha½ vijita½ pah±y±ti yath± paµir±j± “vijita½ raµµha½ anatth±vahan”ti ñatv± rajja½ pah±ya eko carati, eva½ b±lasah±ya½ pah±ya eko care. Aya½ pana viseso– yath± so r±j± rattiy± tikkhattu½ ubbijji, na tath± aya½, nevassa yañño paccupaµµhito ahosi. So ±k±satale paññattesu ±sanesu paccekabuddhe nis²d±petv± “ke tumhe”ti pucchi. “Maya½, mah±r±ja, anavajjabhojino n±m±”ti. “Bhante, ‘anavajjabhojino’ti imassa ko attho”ti? “Sundara½ v± asundara½ v± laddh± nibbik±r± bhuñj±ma, mah±r±j±”ti. Ta½ sutv± rañño etadahosi “ya½n³n±ha½ ime upaparikkheyya½ edis± v± no v±”ti. Ta½ divasa½ kaº±jakena bilaªgadutiyena parivisi. Paccekabuddh± amata½ bhuñjant± viya nibbik±r± bhuñji½su. R±j± acirapakkantesu tesu “anavajjabhojinova ete samaº±, aho vat±hampi anavajjabhoj² bhaveyyan”ti cintetv± mah±rajja½ pah±ya pabbajja½ sam±d±ya vipassana½ ±rabhitv±, paccekabuddho hutv±, mañj³sakarukkham³le paccekabuddh±na½ majjhe attano ±rammaºa½ vibh±vento ima½ g±tha½ abh±si–
“Addh± pasa½s±ma sah±yasampada½, seµµh± sam± sevitabb± sah±y±;
ete aladdh± anavajjabhoj², eko care khaggavis±ºakappo”ti.
S± padatthato utt±n± eva. Kevala½ pana sah±yasampadanti ettha asekhehi s²l±dikkhandhehi sampann± sah±y± eva sah±yasampad±ti veditabb±. Aya½ panettha yojan±– y±ya½ vutt± sah±yasampad±, ta½ sah±yasampada½ addh± pasa½s±ma, eka½seneva thomem±ti vutta½ hoti. Katha½? Seµµh± sam± sevitabb± sah±y±ti. Kasm±? Attano hi s²l±d²hi seµµhe sevam±nassa s²l±dayo dhamm± anuppann± uppajjanti, uppann± vuddhi½ vir³¼hi½ vepulla½ p±puºanti. Same sevam±nassa aññamañña½ samadh±raºena kukkuccassa vinodanena ca laddh± na parih±yanti. Ete pana sah±yake seµµhe ca same ca aladdh± kuhan±dimicch±j²va½ vajjetv± dhammena samena uppanna½ bhojana½ bhuñjanto tattha ca paµigh±nunaya½ anupp±dento anavajjabhoj² hutv± atthak±mo kulaputto eko care khaggavis±ºakappo. Ahampi hi eva½ caranto ima½ sampatti½ adhigatomh²ti.

48. Disv± suvaººass±ti k± uppatti? Aññataro b±r±ºasir±j± gimhasamaye div±seyya½ upagato. Santike cassa vaººad±s² gos²tacandana½ pisati. Tass± ekab±h±ya½ eka½ suvaººavalaya½, ekab±h±ya½ dve, t±ni saªghaµµanti itara½ na saªghaµµati. R±j± ta½ disv± “evameva gaºav±se saªghaµµan±, ekav±se asaªghaµµan±”ti punappuna½ ta½ d±si½ olokayam±no cintesi. Tena ca samayena sabb±laªk±rabh³sit± dev² ta½ b²jayant² µhit± hoti. S± “vaººad±siy± paµibaddhacitto maññe r±j±”ti cintetv± ta½ d±si½ uµµh±petv± sayameva pisitum±raddh± Tass± ubhosu b±h±su aneke suvaººavalay±, te saªghaµµant± mah±sadda½ janayi½su. Amacc± “na, mah±r±ja, ar±jaka½ rajja½ amhehi sakk± rakkhitu½, s±mantar±j±no ±gamma vilumpissanti, y±va ekaputtopi uppajjati, t±va ±gameh²”ti saññ±pesu½. Muducitto r±j± adhiv±sesi. Atha dev² gabbha½ gaºhi. R±j± punapi te ±º±pesi– “dev² gabbhin², putta½ j±ta½ rajje abhisiñcitv± rajja½ pariharatha, aha½ pabbajiss±m²”ti.
