Tad± pana k±ºam±tar± atucchahattha½ dh²tara½ patikula½ pesetu½ pakkesu p³vesu catukkhattu½ catunna½ bhikkh³na½ dinnak±le satth±r± tasmi½ vatthusmi½ sikkh±pade paññatte k±º±ya s±mikena aññ±ya paj±patiy± ±n²t±ya k±º± ta½ pavatti½ sutv± “imehi me ghar±v±so n±sito”ti diµµhadiµµhe bhikkh³ akkosati paribh±sati. Bhikkh³ ta½ v²thi½ paµipajjitu½ na visahi½su. Satth± ta½ pavatti½ ñatv± tattha agam±si. K±ºam±t± satth±ra½ vanditv± paññatt±sane nis²d±petv± y±gukhajjaka½ ad±si. Satth± katap±tar±so “kaha½ k±º±”ti pucchi. “Es±, bhante, tumhe disv± maªkubh³t± rodant² µhit±”ti. “Ki½ k±raº±”ti? “Es±, bhante, bhikkh³ akkosati paribh±sati, tasm± tumhe disv± maªkubh³t± rodam±n± µhit±”ti. Atha na½ satth± pakkos±petv±– “k±ºe, kasm± ma½ disv± maªkubh³t± nil²yitv± rodas²”ti. Athass± m±t± t±ya katakiriya½ ±rocesi. Atha na½ satth± ±ha– “ki½ pana k±ºam±te mama s±vak± tay± dinnaka½ gaºhi½su, adinnakan”ti? “Dinnaka½, bhante”ti. “Sace mama s±vak± piº¹±ya carant± tava gehadv±ra½ patt± tay± dinnaka½ gaºhi½su, ko tesa½ doso”ti? “Natthi, bhante, ayy±na½ doso”. “Etiss±yeva doso”ti. Satth± k±ºa½ ±ha– “k±ºe, mayha½ kira s±vak± piº¹±ya caram±n± gehadv±ra½ ±gat±, atha nesa½ tava m±tar± p³v± dinn±, ko n±mettha mama s±vak±na½ doso”ti? “Natthi, bhante, ayy±na½ doso, mayhameva doso”ti satth±ra½ vanditv± kham±pesi.
Athass± satth± anupubbi½ katha½ kathesi, s± sot±pattiphala½ p±puºi. Satth± uµµh±y±san± vih±ra½ gacchanto r±jaªgaºena p±y±si. K±º±ya gehadv±re paµiy±detv± µhapita½ kh±dan²yabhojan²ya½ mahogho viya pavattati. Bhikkh³ dhammasabh±ya½ katha½ samuµµh±pesu½ “pubbe, ±vuso, catt±ro mahallakatther± k±º±ya vippaµis±ra½ kari½su, s± eva½ vippaµis±rin² hutv±pi satth±ra½ ±gamma saddh±sampada½ labhi. Satth±r± puna tass± gehadv±ra½ bhikkh³na½ upasaªkaman±raha½ kata½. Id±ni upaµµh±tabbe bhikkh³ v± bhikkhuniyo v± pariyesam±n±pi na labhati, aho buddh± n±ma acchariyaguº±”ti. Satth± ±gantv± “k±ya nuttha, bhikkhave, etarahi kath±ya sannisinn±”ti pucchitv± “im±ya n±m±”ti vutte “na, bhikkhave, id±neva tehi mahallakabhikkh³hi k±º±ya vippaµis±ro kato, pubbepi kari½suyeva. Na ca id±neva may± k±º± mama vacanak±rik± kat±, pubbepi kat±yev±”ti vatv± tamattha½ sotuk±mehi bhikkh³hi y±cito–
“Yattheko labhate babbu, dutiyo tattha j±yati;
tatiyo ca catuttho ca, ida½ te babbuk± bilan”ti. (J±. 1.1.137)–

Tattha rahadoti yo caturaªginiy±pi sen±ya og±hantiy± nakhubhati evar³po udakaººavo, sabb±k±rena pana catur±s²tiyojanasahassagambh²ro n²lamah±samuddo rahado n±ma. Tassa hi heµµh± catt±l²sayojanasahassamatte µh±ne udaka½ macchehi calati, upari t±vattakeyeva µh±ne udaka½ v±tena calati, majjhe catuyojanasahassamatte µh±ne udaka½ niccala½ tiµµhati. Aya½ gambh²ro rahado n±ma. Eva½ dhamm±n²ti desan±dhamm±ni. Ida½ vutta½ hoti– yath± n±ma rahado an±kulat±ya vippasanno, acalat±ya an±vilo, eva½ mama desan±dhamma½ sutv± sot±pattimagg±divasena nirupakkilesacittata½ ±pajjant± vippas²danti paº¹it±, arahattappatt± pana ekantavippasann±va hont²ti.
