Mah±puriso attano paris±ya parih±ni½ ñatv±, “kuhi½ ime hatth² gat±, mand± j±t±”ti pucchitv±, “na j±n±ma, s±m²”ti vutte, “kuhiñci gacchant± ma½ an±pucchitv± na gamissanti, paripanthena bhavitabban”ti vatv±, “ekasmi½ µh±ne k±s±va½ p±rupitv± nisinnassa santik± paripanthena bhavitabban”ti parisaªkitv±, “ta½ pariggaºhitu½ vaµµat²”ti sabbe hatth² purato pesetv± saya½ pacchato vilambam±no ±gacchati. So sesahatth²su vanditv± gatesu mah±purisa½ ±gacchanta½ disv± c²vara½ sa½haritv± satti½ vissajji. Mah±puriso sati½ uppaµµhapetv± ±gacchanto pacchato paµikkamitv± satti½ vivajjesi. Upetoti indriyadamena ceva vuttappak±rena ca saccena upagato. Sa veti so evar³po puggalo ta½ gandhak±s±vavattha½ arahat²ti.
