1. Pañcabhikkhuvatthu
Cakkhun± sa½varoti ima½ dhammadesana½ satth± jetavane viharanto pañca bhikkh³ ±rabbha kathesi. Tesu kira ekeko cakkhudv±r±d²su pañcasu dv±resu ekekameva rakkhi. Athekadivasa½ sannipatitv± “aha½ durakkha½ rakkh±mi, aha½ durakkha½ rakkh±m²”ti vivaditv± “satth±ra½ pucchitv± imamattha½ j±niss±m±”ti satth±ra½ upasaªkamitv±, “bhante, maya½ cakkhudv±r±d²ni rakkhant± attano attano rakkhanadv±rameva durakkhanti maññ±ma, ko nu kho amhesu durakkha½ rakkhat²”ti pucchi½su. Satth± eka½ bhikkhumpi anos±detv±, “bhikkhave, sabb±ni pet±ni durakkh±neva, api ca kho pana tumhe na id±neva pañcasu µh±nesu asa½vut±, pubbepi asa½vut±, asa½vutatt±yeva ca paº¹it±na½ ov±de avattitv± j²vitakkhaya½ p±puºitth±”ti vatv± “kad±, bhante”ti tehi y±cito at²te takkasilaj±takassa vatthu½ vitth±retv± rakkhas²na½ vasena r±jakule j²vitakkhaya½ patte patt±bhisekena mah±sattena setacchattassa heµµh± r±j±sane nisinnena attano sirisampatti½ oloketv± “v²riya½ n±meta½ sattehi kattabbamev±”ti ud±navasena ud±nita½–
“Kusal³padese dhitiy± da¼h±ya ca,
anivattitatt±bhayabh²rut±ya ca;
na rakkhas²na½ vasam±gamimhase,
sa sotthibh±vo mahat± bhayena me”ti. (J±. 1.1.132)–
Ima½ g±tha½ dassetv± “tad±pi tumheva pañca jan± takkasil±ya½ rajjagahaºatth±ya nikkhanta½ mah±satta½ ±vudhahatth± pariv±retv± magga½ gacchant± antar±magge rakkhas²hi cakkhudv±r±divasena upan²tesu r³p±rammaº±d²su asa½vut± paº¹itassa ov±de avattitv± ol²yant± rakkhas²hi kh±dit± j²vitakkhaya½ p±puºittha. Tesu pana ±rammaºesu susa½vuto piµµhito piµµhito anubandhanti½ devavaººi½ yakkhini½ an±diyitv± sotthin± takkasila½ gantv± rajja½ patto r±j± ahamev±”ti j±taka½ samodh±netv±, “bhikkhave, bhikkhun± n±ma sabb±ni dv±r±ni sa½varitabb±ni. 360. “Cakkhun± sa½varo s±dhu, s±dhu sotena sa½varo;
gh±nena sa½varo s±dhu, s±dhu jivh±ya sa½varo.
361. “K±yena sa½varo s±dhu, s±dhu v±c±ya sa½varo;
manas± sa½varo s±dhu, s±dhu sabbattha sa½varo;
sabbattha sa½vuto bhikkhu, sabbadukkh± pamuccat²”ti.
Tattha cakkhun±ti yad± hi bhikkhuno cakkhudv±re r³p±rammaºa½ ±p±tham±gacchati, tad± iµµh±rammaºe arajjantassa aniµµh±rammaºe adussantassa asamapekkhanena moha½ anupp±dentassa tasmi½ dv±re sa½varo thakana½ pidahana½ gutti kat± n±ma hoti. Tassa so evar³po cakkhun± sa½varo s±dhu. Esa nayo sotadv±r±d²supi. Cakkhudv±r±d²suyeva pana sa½varo v± asa½varo v± nuppajjati, parato pana javanav²thiya½ esa labbhati. Tad± hi asa½varo uppajjanto assaddh± akkhanti kosajja½ muµµhasacca½ aññ±ºanti akusalav²thiya½ aya½ pañcavidho labbhati. Sa½varo uppajjanto saddh± khanti v²riya½ sati ñ±ºanti kusalav²thiya½ aya½ pañcavidho labbhati. K±yena sa½varoti ettha pana pas±dak±yopi copanak±yopi labbhati. Ubhayampi paneta½ k±yadv±rameva. Tattha pas±dadv±re sa½var±sa½varo kathitova. Copanadv±repi ta½vatthuk± p±º±tip±ta-adinn±d±nak±mesumicch±c±r±. Tehi pana saddhi½ akusalav²thiya½ uppajjantehi ta½ dv±ra½ asa½vuta½ hoti, kusalav²thiya½ uppajjantehi p±º±tip±t±veramaºi-±d²hi sa½vuta½. S±dhu v±c±y±ti etth±pi copanav±c±pi v±c±. T±ya saddhi½ uppajjantehi mus±v±d±d²hi ta½ dv±ra½ asa½vuta½ hoti, mus±v±d±veramaºi-±d²hi sa½vuta½. Manas± sa½varoti etth±pi javanamanato aññena manena saddhi½ abhijjh±dayo natthi. Manodv±re pana javanakkhaºe uppajjam±nehi abhijjh±d²hi ta½ dv±ra½ asa½vuta½ hoti, anabhijjh±d²hi sa½vuta½ hoti. S±dhu sabbatth±ti tesu cakkhudv±r±d²su sabbesupi sa½varo s±dhu. Ett±vat± hi aµµha sa½varadv±r±ni aµµha ca asa½varadv±r±ni kathit±ni. Tesu aµµhasu asa½varadv±resu µhito bhikkhu sakalavaµµam³lakadukkhato na muccati, sa½varadv±resu pana µhito sabbasm±pi vaµµam³lakadukkh± muccati. Tena vutta½– “sabbattha sa½vuto bhikkhu, sabbadukkh± pamuccat²”ti. Desan±vas±ne te pañca bhikkh³ sot±pattiphale patiµµhahi½su, sampatt±nampi s±tthik± dhammadesan± ahos²ti.
