Hananti bhog±ti ima½ dhammadesana½ satth± jetavane viharanto aputtakaseµµhi½ n±ma ±rabbha kathesi. Tassa kira k±lakiriya½ sutv± r±j± pasenadi kosalo “aputtaka½ s±pateyya½ kassa p±puº±t²”ti pucchitv± “rañño”ti sutv± sattahi divasehi tassa gehato dhana½ r±jakula½ abhihar±petv± satthu santika½ upasaªkamitv± “handa kuto nu tva½, mah±r±ja, ±gacchasi div±divass±”ti vutte “idha, bhante, s±vatthiya½ seµµhi, gahapati, k±lakato, tamaha½ aputtaka½ s±pateyya½ r±jantepura½ abhiharitv± ±gacch±m²”ti ±ha. Sabba½ sutte (sa½. ni. 1.130) ±gatanayeneva veditabba½. So kira suvaººap±tiy± n±naggarasabhojane upan²te “evar³pa½ n±ma manuss± bhuñjanti, ki½ tumhe may± saddhi½ imasmi½ gehe ke¼i½ karoth±”ti bhojane upaµµhite le¹¹udaº¹±d²hi paharitv± pal±petv± “ida½ manuss±na½ bhojanan”ti kaº±jaka½ bhuñjati bi¼aªgadutiya½. Vatthay±nachattesupi man±pesu upaµµh±pitesu te manusse le¹¹udaº¹±d²hi paharanto pal±petv± s±º±ni dh±reti, jajjararathakena y±ti paººachattakena dh±riyam±nen±ti eva½ raññ± ±rocite satth± tassa pubbakamma½ kathesi. Bh³tapubba½ so, mah±r±ja, seµµhi, gahapati, tagarasikhi½ n±ma paccekabuddha½ piº¹ap±tena paµip±desi. “Detha samaºassa piº¹an”ti vatv± so uµµh±y±san± pakk±mi. Tasmi½ kira assaddhe b±le eva½ vatv± pakkante tassa bhariy± saddh± pasann± “cirassa½ vata me imassa mukhato ‘deh²’ti vacana½ suta½, ajja mama manoratha½ p³rent² piº¹ap±ta½ dass±m²”ti paccekabuddhassa patta½ gahetv± paº²tabhojanassa p³retv± ad±si. Sopi nivattam±no ta½ disv± “ki½, samaºa, kiñci te laddhan”ti patta½ gahetv± paº²tapiº¹ap±ta½ disv± vippaµis±r² hutv± eva½ cintesi– “varameta½ piº¹ap±ta½ d±s± v± kammakar± v± bhuñjeyyu½. Te hi ima½ bhuñjitv± mayha½ kamma½ karissanti, aya½ pana gantv± bhuñjitv± nidd±yissati, naµµho me so piº¹ap±to”ti. So bh±tu ca pana ekaputtaka½ s±pateyyassa k±raº± j²vit± voropesi. So kirassa aªguli½ gahetv± vicaranto “ida½ mayha½ pitusantaka½ y±naka½, aya½ tassa goºo”ti-±d²ni ±ha. Atha na½ so seµµhi “id±ni t±vesa eva½ vadeti, imassa pana vu¹¹hippattak±le imasmi½ gehe bhoge ko rakkhissat²”ti ta½ arañña½ netv± ekasmi½ gaccham³le g²v±ya gahetv± m³lakanda½ viya g²va½ ph±letv± m±retv± tattheva cha¹¹esi. Idamassa pubbakamma½. Tena vutta½–
“Ya½ kho so, mah±r±ja, seµµhi, gahapati, tagarasikhi½ paccekabuddha½ piº¹ap±tena paµip±desi, tassa kammassa vip±kena sattakkhattu½ sugati½ sagga½ loka½ upapajji, tasseva kammassa vip±k±vasesena imiss±yeva s±vatthiy± sattakkhattu½ seµµhitta½ k±resi. Ya½ kho so, mah±r±ja, seµµhi, gahapati, datv± pacch± vippaµis±r² ahosi ‘varameta½ piº¹ap±ta½ d±s± v± kammakar± v± bhuñjeyyun’ti, tassa kammassa vip±kena n±ssu¼±r±ya bhattabhog±ya citta½ namati, n±ssu¼±r±ya vatthabhog±ya, n±ssu¼±r±ya y±nabhog±ya, n±ssu¼±r±na½ pañcanna½ k±maguº±na½ bhog±ya citta½ namati. Ya½ kho so, mah±r±ja, seµµhi, gahapati, bh±tu ca pana ekaputta½ s±pateyyassa k±raº± j²vit± voropesi, tassa kammassa vip±kena bah³ni vassasat±ni bah³ni vassasahass±ni bah³ni vassasatasahass±ni niraye paccittha, tasseva kammassa vip±k±vasesena ida½ sattama½ aputtaka½ s±pateyya½ r±jakosa½ paveseti. Tassa kho pana, mah±r±ja, seµµhissa gahapatissa pur±ºañca puñña½ parikkh²ºa½, navañca puñña½ anupacita½. Ajja pana, mah±r±ja, seµµhi, gahapati, mah±roruve niraye paccat²”ti (sa½. ni. 1.131).
R±j± satthu vacana½ sutv± “aho, bhante, bh±riya½ kamma½, ettake n±ma bhoge vijjam±ne neva attan± paribhuñji, na tumh±dise buddhe dhuravih±re viharante puññakamma½ ak±s²”ti ±ha Satth± “evameta½, mah±r±ja, dummedhapuggal± n±ma bhoge labhitv± nibb±na½ na gavesanti, bhoge niss±ya uppannataºh± panete d²gharatta½ hanat²”ti vatv± ima½ g±tham±ha– 355. “Hananti bhog± dummedha½, no ca p±ragavesino;
bhogataºh±ya dummedho, hanti aññeva attanan”ti.
Tattha no ca p±ragavesinoti ye pana nibb±nap±ragavesino puggal±, na te bhog± hananti. Aññeva attananti bhoge niss±ya uppann±ya taºh±ya duppañño puggalo pare viya att±nameva hanat²ti attho. Desan±vas±ne bah³ sot±pattiphal±d²ni p±puºi½s³ti.
