Yo ca vassasata½ j²veti ima½ dhammadesana½ satth± jetavane viharanto kis±gotami½ ±rabbha kathesi. S±vatthiya½ kirekassa seµµhissa gehe catt±l²sakoµidhana½ aªg±r± eva hutv± aµµh±si. Seµµhi ta½ disv± uppannasoko ±h±ra½ paµikkhipitv± mañcake nipajji. Tasseko sah±yako geha½ gantv±, “samma, kasm± socas²”ti pucchitv± ta½ pavatti½ sutv±, “samma, m± soci, aha½ eka½ up±ya½ j±n±mi, ta½ karoh²”ti. “Ki½ karomi, samm±”ti? Attano ±paºe kilañja½ pas±retv± tattha te aªg±re r±si½ katv± vikkiºanto viya nis²da, ±gat±gatesu manussesu ye eva½ vadanti– “sesajan± vatthatelamadhuph±ºit±d²ni vikkiºanti, tva½ pana aªg±re vikkiºanto nisinno”ti. Te vadeyy±si– “attano santaka½ avikkiºanto ki½ karom²”ti? Yo pana ta½ eva½ vadati “sesajan± vatthatelamadhuph±ºit±d²ni vikkiºanti, tva½ pana hiraññasuvaººa½ vikkiºanto nisinno”ti. Ta½ vadeyy±si “kaha½ hiraññasuvaººan”ti. “Idan”ti ca vutte “±hara, t±va nan”ti hatthehi paµiccheyy±si. Eva½ dinna½ tava hatthe hiraññasuvaººa½ bhavissati. S± pana sace kum±rik± hoti, tava gehe puttassa na½ ±haritv± catt±l²sakoµidhana½ tass± niyy±detv± t±ya dinna½ valañjeyy±si. Sace kum±rako hoti, tava gehe vayappatta½ dh²tara½ tassa datv± catt±l²sakoµidhana½ niyy±detv± tena dinna½ valañjeyy±s²ti. So “bhaddako up±yo”ti attano ±paºe aªg±re r±si½ katv± vikkiºanto viya nis²di. Ye pana na½ evam±ha½su– “sesajan± vatthatelamadhuph±ºit±d²ni vikkiºanti, ki½ pana tva½ aªg±re vikkiºanto nisinno”ti? Tesa½ “attano santaka½ avikkiºanto ki½ karom²”ti paµivacana½ ad±si. Athek± gotam² n±ma kum±rik± kisasar²rat±ya kis±gotam²ti paññ±yam±n± parijiººakulassa dh²t± attano ekena kiccena ±paºadv±ra½ gantv± ta½ seµµhi½ disv± evam±ha– “ki½, t±ta, sesajan± vatthatelamadhuph±ºit±d²ni vikkiºanti, tva½ hiraññasuvaººa½ vikkiºanto nisinno”ti? “Kaha½, amma, hiraññasuvaººan”ti “Nanu ‘tva½ tadeva gahetv± nisinnos²’ti, ±hara, t±va na½, amm±”ti. S± hatthap³ra½ gahetv± tassa hatthesu µhapesi, ta½ hiraññasuvaººameva ahosi. Atha na½ seµµhi “katara½ te, amma, gehan”ti pucchitv± “asuka½ n±m±”ti vutte tass± ass±mikabh±va½ ñatv± dhana½ paµis±metv± ta½ attano puttassa ±netv± catt±l²sakoµidhana½ paµicch±pesi. Sabba½ hiraññasuvaººameva ahosi. Tass± aparena samayena gabbho patiµµhahi. S± dasam±saccayena putta½ vij±yi. So padas± gamanak±le k±lamak±si. S± adiµµhapubbamaraºat±ya ta½ jh±petu½ n²harante v±retv± “puttassa me bhesajja½ pucchiss±m²”ti mataka¼evara½ aªken±d±ya “api nu me puttassa bhesajja½ j±n±th±”ti pucchant² gharapaµip±µiy± vicarati. Atha na½ manuss±, “amma, tva½ ummattik± j±t±, matakaputtassa bhesajja½ pucchant² vicaras²”ti vadanti. S± “avassa½ mama puttassa bhesajja½ j±nanaka½ labhiss±m²”ti maññam±n± vicarati. Atha na½ eko paº¹itapuriso disv±, “aya½ mama dh²t± paµhama½ puttaka½ vij±t± bhavissati adiµµhapubbamaraº±, may± imiss± avassayena bhavitu½ vaµµat²”ti cintetv± ±ha– “amma, aha½ bhesajja½ na j±n±mi, bhesajjaj±nanaka½ pana j±n±m²”ti. “Ko j±n±ti, t±t±”ti? “Satth±, amma, j±n±ti, gaccha, ta½ pucch±h²”ti. S± “gamiss±mi, t±ta, pucchiss±mi, t±t±”ti vatv± satth±ra½ upasaªkamitv± vanditv± ekamanta½ µhit± pucchi– “tumhe kira me puttassa bhesajja½ j±n±tha, bhante”ti? “¾ma, j±n±m²”ti. “Ki½ laddhu½ vaµµat²”ti? “Accharaggahaºamatte siddhatthake laddhu½ vaµµat²”ti. “Labhiss±mi, bhante”. “Kassa pana gehe laddhu½ vaµµat²”ti? “Yassa gehe putto v± dh²t± v± na koci matapubbo”ti. S± “s±dhu, bhante”ti satth±ra½ vanditv± mataputtaka½ aªken±d±ya antog±ma½ pavisitv± paµhamagehassa dv±re µhatv± “atthi nu kho imasmi½ gehe siddhatthako, puttassa kira me bhesajja½ etan”ti vatv± “atth²”ti vutte tena hi deth±ti. Tehi ±haritv± siddhatthakesu diyyam±nesu “imasmi½ gehe putto v± dh²t± v± matapubbo koci natthi, amm±”ti pucchitv± “ki½ vadesi, amma? J²vam±n± hi katipay±, matak± eva bahuk±”ti vutte “tena hi gaºhatha vo siddhatthake, neta½ mama puttassa bhesajjan”ti paµi-ad±si. S± imin± n²y±mena ±dito paµµh±ya na½ pucchant² vicari. S± ekagehepi siddhatthake agahetv± s±yanhasamaye cintesi– “aho bh±riya½ kamma½, aha½ ‘mameva putto mato’ti saññamak±si½, sakalag±mepi pana j²vantehi matak±va bahutar±”ti. Tass± eva½ cintayam±n±ya puttasineha½ mudukahadaya½ thaddhabh±va½ agam±si. S± putta½ araññe cha¹¹etv± satthu santika½ gantv± vanditv± ekamanta½ aµµh±si. Atha na½ satth± “laddh± te ekaccharamatt± siddhatthak±”ti ±ha. “Na laddh±, bhante, sakalag±me j²vantehi matak±va bahutar±”ti. Atha na½ satth± “tva½ ‘mameva putto mato’ti sallakkhesi, dhuvadhammo esa satt±na½. Maccur±j± hi sabbasatte aparipuººajjh±saye eva mahogho viya parika¹¹ham±noyeva ap±yasamudde pakkhipat²”ti vatv± dhamma½ desento ima½ g±tham±ha–
“Ta½ puttapasusammatta½, by±sattamanasa½ nara½;
sutta½ g±ma½ mahoghova, maccu ±d±ya gacchat²”ti. (Dha. pa. 287).
G±th±pariyos±ne kis±gotam² sot±pattiphale patiµµhahi, aññepi bah³ sot±pattiphal±d²ni p±puºi½s³ti. S± pana satth±ra½ pabbajja½ y±ci, satth± ta½ bhikkhun²na½ santika½ pesetv± pabb±jesi. S± laddh³pasampad± kis±gotam² ther²ti paññ±yi. S± ekadivasa½ uposath±g±re v±ra½ patv± d²pa½ j±letv± nisinn± d²paj±l± uppajjantiyo ca bhijjantiyo ca disv± “evameva ime satt± uppajjanti ceva nirujjhanti ca, nibb±nappatt± eva na paññ±yant²”ti ±rammaºa½ aggahesi. Satth± gandhakuµiya½ nisinnova obh±sa½ pharitv± tass± sammukhe nis²ditv± kathento viya “evameva, gotami, ime satt± d²paj±l± viya uppajjanti ceva nirujjhanti ca, nibb±nappatt± eva na paññ±yanti, eva½ nibb±na½ apassant±na½ vassasata½ j²vanato nibb±na½ passantassa khaºamattampi j²vita½ seyyo”ti vatv± anusandhi½ ghaµetv± dhamma½ desento ima½ g±tham±ha– 114. “Yo ca vassasata½ j²ve, apassa½ amata½ pada½;
ek±ha½ j²vita½ seyyo, passato amata½ padan”ti.
Tattha amata½ padanti maraºavirahitakoµµh±sa½, amatamah±nibb±nanti attho. Sesa½ purimasadisameva. Desan±vas±ne kis±gotam² yath±nisinn±va saha paµisambhid±hi arahatte patiµµhah²ti.
