61. Atha kho saªg±ravo br±hmaºo yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± bhagavat± saddhi½ sammodi. Sammodan²ya½ katha½ s±raº²ya½ v²tis±retv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinno kho saªg±ravo br±hmaºo bhagavanta½ etadavoca– “mayamassu, bho gotama, br±hmaº± n±ma. Yañña½ yaj±mapi yaj±pemapi. Tatra, bho gotama, yo ceva yajati [yo ceva yañña½ yajati (sy±. ka½.)] yo ca yaj±peti sabbe te anekas±r²rika½ puññappaµipada½ paµipann± honti, yadida½ yaññ±dhikaraºa½. Yo pan±ya½, bho gotama, yassa v± tassa v± kul± ag±rasm± anag±riya½ pabbajito ekamatt±na½ dameti, ekamatt±na½ sameti, ekamatt±na½ parinibb±peti, evamass±ya½ ekas±r²rika½ puññappaµipada½ paµipanno hoti, yadida½ pabbajj±dhikaraºan”ti.
“Tena hi, br±hmaºa, taññevettha paµipucchiss±mi. Yath± te khameyya tath± na½ by±kareyy±si. Ta½ ki½ maññasi, br±hmaºa, idha tath±gato loke uppajjati araha½ samm±sambuddho vijj±caraºasampanno sugato lokavid³ anuttaro purisadammas±rathi satth± devamanuss±na½ buddho bhagav±. So evam±ha– ‘eth±ya½ maggo aya½ paµipad± yath±paµipanno aha½ anuttara½ brahmacariyogadha½ saya½ abhiññ± sacchikatv± pavedemi; etha [eta½ (ka.)], tumhepi tath± paµipajjatha, yath±paµipann± tumhepi anuttara½ brahmacariyogadha½ saya½ abhiññ± sacchikatv± upasampajja viharissath±’ti. “Ta½ ki½ maññasi, br±hmaºa, icc±ya½ eva½ sante ekas±r²rik± v± puññappaµipad± hoti anekas±r²rik± v±, yadida½ pabbajj±dhikaraºan”ti? “Icc±yampi [icc±yante (ka.)], bho gotama, eva½ sante anekas±r²rik± puññappaµipad± hoti, yadida½ pabbajj±dhikaraºan”ti.
Eva½ vutte ±yasm± ±nando saªg±rava½ br±hmaºa½ etadavoca– “im±sa½ te, br±hmaºa, dvinna½ paµipad±na½ katam± paµipad± khamati appatthatar± ca appasam±rambhatar± ca mahapphalatar± ca mah±nisa½satar± c±”ti? Eva½ vutte saªg±ravo br±hmaºo ±yasmanta½ ±nanda½ etadavoca– “seyyath±pi bhava½ gotamo bhava½ c±nando. Ete me pujj±, ete me p±sa½s±”ti.
Dutiyampi kho ±yasm± ±nando saªg±rava½ br±hmaºa½ etadavoca– “na kho ty±ha½, br±hmaºa, eva½ pucch±mi– ‘ke v± te pujj± ke v± te p±sa½s±’ti? Atha kho bhagavato etadahosi– “y±va tatiyampi kho saªg±ravo br±hmaºo ±nandena sahadhammika½ pañha½ puµµho sa½s±deti [ma. ni. 1.337] no vissajjeti. Ya½n³n±ha½ parimoceyyan”ti. Atha kho bhagav± saªg±rava½ br±hmaºa½ etadavoca– “k± nvajja, br±hmaºa, r±jantepure r±japuris±na½ [r±japaris±ya½ (s². sy±. ka½. p².)] sannisinn±na½ sannipatit±na½ antar±kath± udap±d²”ti? “Aya½ khvajja, bho gotama, r±jantepure r±japuris±na½ sannisinn±na½ sannipatit±na½ antar±kath± udap±di– ‘pubbe suda½ appatar± ceva bhikkh³ ahesu½ bahutar± ca uttari manussadhamm± iddhip±µih±riya½ dassesu½; etarahi pana bahutar± ceva bhikkh³ appatar± ca uttari manussadhamm± iddhip±µih±riya½ dassent²’ti. “Idha pana, br±hmaºa, ekacco na heva kho nimittena ±disati api ca kho manuss±na½ v± amanuss±na½ v± devat±na½ v± sadda½ sutv± ±disati– ‘evampi te mano, itthampi te mano, itipi te cittan’ti. So bahu½ cepi ±disati tatheva ta½ hoti, no aññath±.
“Idha pana, br±hmaºa, ekacco na heva kho nimittena ±disati napi manuss±na½ v± amanuss±na½ v± devat±na½ v± sadda½ sutv± ±disati, api ca kho vitakkayato vic±rayato vitakkavipph±rasadda½ sutv± ±disati– ‘evampi te mano, itthampi te mano, itipi te cittan’ti. So bahu½ cepi ±disati tatheva ta½ hoti, no aññath±.
“Idha pana, br±hmaºa, ekacco na heva kho nimittena ±disati, napi manuss±na½ v± amanuss±na½ v± devat±na½ v± sadda½ sutv± ±disati, napi vitakkayato vic±rayato vitakkavipph±rasadda½ sutv± ±disati, api ca kho avitakka½ avic±ra½ sam±dhi½ sam±pannassa cetas± ceto paricca paj±n±ti– ‘yath± imassa bhoto manosaªkh±r± paºihit± imassa cittassa anantar± amu½ n±ma vitakka½ vitakkessat²’ti. Idha, br±hmaºa ekacco evamanus±sati– ‘eva½ vitakketha, m± eva½ vitakkayittha; eva½ manasi karotha, m± eva½ manas±kattha; ida½ pajahatha, ida½ upasampajja viharath±’ti. Ida½ vuccati, br±hmaºa, anus±san²p±µih±riya½. Im±ni kho, br±hmaºa, t²ºi p±µih±riy±ni. Imesa½ te, br±hmaºa, tiººa½ p±µih±riy±na½ katama½ p±µih±riya½ khamati abhikkantatarañca paº²tatarañc±”ti?
“Tatra, bho gotama, yadida½ [yamida½ (sy±. ka½. p².)] p±µih±riya½ idhekacco anekavihita½ iddhividha½ paccanubhoti…pe… y±va br±hmalok±pi k±yena vasa½ vatteti, ida½, bho gotama, p±µih±riya½ yova [yo ca (sy±. ka½. p². ka.)] na½ karoti sova [soca ca (sy±. ka½ p². ka.)] na½ paµisa½vedeti, yova [yo ca (sy±. ka½. p². ka.)] na½ karoti tasseva [tassameva (s². ka.), tassa ceva (sy±. ka½. p².)] ta½ hoti. “Acchariya½, bho gotama, abbhuta½, bho gotama! Y±vasubh±sitamida½ bhot± gotamena imehi ca maya½ t²hi p±µih±riyehi samann±gata½ bhavanta½ gotama½ dh±rema. Bhavañhi gotamo anekavihita½ iddhividha½ paccanubhoti…pe… y±va brahmalok±pi k±yena vasa½ vatteti, bhavañhi gotamo avitakka½ avic±ra½ sam±dhi½ sam±pannassa cetas± ceto paricca paj±n±ti– ‘yath± imassa bhoto manosaªkh±r± paºihit± imassa cittassa anantar± amu½ n±ma vitakka½ vitakkessat²’ti. Ahañhi br±hmaºa, avitakka½ avic±ra½ sam±dhi½ sam±pannassa cetas± ceto paricca paj±n±mi– ‘yath± imassa bhoto manosaªkh±r± paºihit±, imassa cittassa anantar± amu½ n±ma vitakka½ vitakkessat²’ti. “Atthi pana, bho gotama, añño ekabhikkhupi yo imehi t²hi p±µih±riyehi samann±gato, aññatra bhot± gotamen±”ti? “Na kho, br±hmaºa, eka½yeva sata½ na dve sat±ni na t²ºi sat±ni na catt±ri sat±ni na pañca sat±ni, atha kho bhiyyova, ye [te (ka.) passa ma. ni. 2.195] bhikkh³ imehi t²hi p±µih±riyehi samann±gat±”ti. “Kaha½ pana, bho gotama, etarahi te bhikkh³ viharant²”ti? “Imasmi½yeva kho, br±hmaºa, bhikkhusaªghe”ti.
“Abhikkanta½, bho gotama, abhikkanta½, bho gotama! Seyyath±pi bho gotama, nikkujjita½ v± ukkujjeyya, paµicchanna½ v± vivareyya, m³¼hassa v± magga½ ±cikkheyya, andhak±re v± telapajjota½ dh±reyya– ‘cakkhumanto r³p±ni dakkhant²’ti, evameva½ bhot± gotamena anekapariy±yena dhammo pak±sito. Es±ha½ bhavanta½ gotama½ saraºa½ gacch±mi, dhammañca bhikkhusaªghañca. Up±saka½ ma½ bhava½ gotamo dh±retu ajjatagge p±ºupeta½ saraºa½ gatan”ti. Dasama½.
