360. Eka½ samaya½ bhagav± n±¼and±ya½ viharati p±v±rikambavane. Atha kho asibandhakaputto g±maºi nigaºµhas±vako yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinna½ kho asibandhakaputta½ g±maºi½ bhagav± etadavoca– “katha½ nu kho, g±maºi, nigaºµho n±µaputto s±vak±na½ dhamma½ deset²”ti? “Eva½ kho, bhante, nigaºµho n±µaputto s±vak±na½ dhamma½ deseti– ‘yo koci p±ºa½ atip±teti, sabbo so ±p±yiko nerayiko, yo koci adinna½ ±diyati, sabbo so ±p±yiko nerayiko yo koci k±mesu micch± carati, sabbo so ±p±yiko nerayiko, yo koci mus± bhaºati sabbo, so ±p±yiko nerayiko. Ya½bahula½ ya½bahula½ viharati, tena tena n²yat²’ti. Eva½ kho, bhante, nigaºµho n±µaputto s±vak±na½ dhamma½ deset²”ti. “‘Ya½bahula½ ya½bahulañca, g±maºi, viharati, tena tena n²yati’, eva½ sante na koci ±p±yiko nerayiko bhavissati, yath± nigaºµhassa n±µaputtassa vacana½”.
“Ta½ ki½ maññasi, g±maºi, yo so puriso p±º±tip±t² rattiy± v± divasassa v± samay±samaya½ up±d±ya, katamo bahutaro samayo, ya½ v± so p±ºamatip±teti, ya½ v± so p±ºa½ n±tip±tet²”ti? “Yo so, bhante, puriso p±º±tip±t² rattiy± v± divasassa v± samay±samaya½ up±d±ya, appataro so samayo ya½ so p±ºamatip±teti, atha kho sveva bahutaro samayo ya½ so p±ºa½ n±tip±tet²”ti. “‘Ya½bahula½ ya½bahulañca, g±maºi, viharati tena tena n²yat²’ti, eva½ sante na koci ±p±yiko nerayiko bhavissati, yath± nigaºµhassa n±µaputtassa vacana½”.

“Ta½ ki½ maññasi, g±maºi, yo so puriso mus±v±d² rattiy± v± divasassa v± samay±samaya½ up±d±ya, katamo bahutaro samayo, ya½ v± so mus± bhaºati, ya½ v± so mus± na bhaºat²”ti? “Yo so, bhante puriso mus±v±d² rattiy± v± divasassa v± samay±samaya½ up±d±ya appataro so samayo, ya½ so mus± bhaºati, atha kho sveva bahutaro samayo, ya½ so mus± na bhaºat²”ti. “‘Ya½bahula½ ya½bahulañca, g±maºi, viharati tena tena n²yat²’ti, eva½ sante na koci ±p±yiko nerayiko bhavissati, yath± nigaºµhassa n±µaputtassa vacana½”.
“Idha, g±maºi, ekacco satth± eva½v±d² hoti eva½diµµhi [eva½diµµh² (ka.)]– ‘yo koci p±ºamatip±teti, sabbo so ±p±yiko nerayiko, yo koci adinna½ ±diyati, sabbo so ±p±yiko nerayiko, yo koci k±mesu micch± carati, sabbo so ±p±yiko nerayiko, yo koci mus± bhaºati, sabbo so ±p±yiko nerayiko’ti. Tasmi½ kho pana, g±maºi, satthari s±vako abhippasanno hoti. Tassa eva½ hoti– ‘mayha½ kho satth± eva½v±d² eva½diµµhi– yo koci p±ºamatip±teti, sabbo so ±p±yiko nerayikoti. Atthi kho pana may± p±ºo atip±tito, ahampamhi ±p±yiko nerayikoti diµµhi½ paµilabhati. Ta½, g±maºi, v±ca½ appah±ya ta½ citta½ appah±ya ta½ diµµhi½ appaµinissajjitv± yath±bhata½ nikkhitto eva½ niraye. Mayha½ kho satth± eva½v±d² eva½diµµhi– yo koci adinna½ ±diyati, sabbo so ±p±yiko nerayikoti. Atthi kho pana may± adinna½ ±dinna½ ahampamhi ±p±yiko nerayikoti diµµhi½ paµilabhati. “Idha pana, g±maºi, tath±gato loke uppajjati araha½ samm±sambuddho vijj±caraºasampanno sugato lokavid³ anuttaro purisadammas±rathi satth± devamanuss±na½ buddho bhagav±. So anekapariy±yena p±º±tip±ta½ garahati vigarahati, ‘p±º±tip±t± viramath±’ti c±ha. Adinn±d±na½ garahati vigarahati, ‘adinn±d±n± viramath±’ti c±ha. K±mesumicch±c±ra½ garahati, vigarahati ‘k±mesumicch±c±r± viramath±’ti c±ha. Mus±v±da½ garahati vigarahati ‘mus±v±d± viramath±’ti c±ha. Tasmi½ kho pana, g±maºi, satthari s±vako abhippasanno hoti. So iti paµisañcikkhati– ‘bhagav± kho anekapariy±yena p±º±tip±ta½ garahati vigarahati, p±º±tip±t± viramath±ti c±ha. Atthi kho pana may± p±ºo atip±tito y±vatako v± t±vatako v±. Yo kho pana may± p±ºo atip±tito y±vatako v± t±vatako v±, ta½ na suµµhu, ta½ na s±dhu. Ahañceva [ahañce (?)] Kho pana tappaccay± vippaµis±r² assa½. Na meta½ p±pa½ kamma½ [p±pakamma½ (sy±. ka½. p². ka.)] akata½ bhavissat²’ti. So iti paµisaªkh±ya tañceva p±º±tip±ta½ pajahati. ¾yatiñca p±º±tip±t± paµivirato hoti. Evametassa p±passa kammassa pah±na½ hoti. Evametassa p±passa kammassa samatikkamo hoti.

Ya½ kho pana may± adinna½ ±dinna½ y±vataka½ v± t±vataka½ v± ta½ na suµµhu, ta½ na s±dhu. Ahañceva kho pana tappaccay± vippaµis±r² assa½, na meta½ p±pa½ kamma½ akata½ bhavissat²’ti. So iti paµisaªkh±ya tañceva adinn±d±na½ pajahati. ¾yatiñca adinn±d±n± paµivirato hoti. Evametassa p±passa kammassa pah±na½ hoti. Evametassa p±passa kammassa samatikkamo hoti.

Ya½ kho pana may± k±mesu micch± ciººa½ y±vataka½ v± t±vataka½ v± ta½ na suµµhu, ta½ na s±dhu. Ahañceva kho pana tappaccay± vippaµis±r² assa½, na meta½ p±pa½ kamma½ akata½ bhavissat²’ti. So iti paµisaªkh±ya tañceva k±mesumicch±c±ra½ pajahati, ±yatiñca k±mesumicch±c±r± paµivirato hoti. Evametassa p±passa kammassa pah±na½ hoti. Evametassa p±passa kammassa samatikkamo hoti.

Ya½ kho pana may± mus± bhaºita½ y±vataka½ v± t±vataka½ v± ta½ na suµµhu, ta½ na s±dhu. Ahañceva kho pana tappaccay± vippaµis±r² assa½, na meta½ p±pa½ kamma½ akata½ bhavissat²’ti. So iti paµisaªkh±ya tañceva mus±v±da½ pajahati, ±yatiñca mus±v±d± paµivirato hoti. Evametassa p±passa kammassa pah±na½ hoti. Evametassa p±passa kammassa samatikkamo hoti.
“So p±º±tip±ta½ pah±ya p±º±tip±t± paµivirato hoti. Adinn±d±na½ pah±ya adinn±d±n± paµivirato hoti. K±mesumicch±c±ra½ pah±ya k±mesumicch±c±r± paµivirato hoti. Mus±v±da½ pah±ya mus±v±d± paµivirato hoti. Pisuºa½ v±ca½ pah±ya pisuº±ya v±c±ya paµivirato hoti. Pharusa½ v±ca½ pah±ya pharus±ya v±c±ya paµivirato hoti. Samphappal±pa½ pah±ya samphappal±p± paµivirato hoti. Abhijjha½ pah±ya anabhijjh±lu hoti. By±p±dappadosa½ pah±ya aby±pannacitto hoti. Micch±diµµhi½ pah±ya samm±diµµhiko hoti.
“Sa kho so, g±maºi, ariyas±vako eva½ vigat±bhijjho vigataby±p±do asamm³¼ho sampaj±no paµissato mett±sahagatena cetas± eka½ disa½ pharitv± viharati, tath± dutiya½, tath± tatiya½, tath± catuttha½. Iti uddhamadho tiriya½ sabbadhi sabbattat±ya sabb±vanta½ loka½ mett±sahagatena cetas± vipulena mahaggatena appam±ºena averena aby±pajjena pharitv± viharati. Seyyath±pi, g±maºi, balav± saªkhadhamo appakasireneva catuddis± viññ±peyya; evameva kho, g±maºi, eva½ bh±vit±ya mett±ya cetovimuttiy± eva½ bahul²kat±ya ya½ pam±ºakata½ kamma½, na ta½ tatr±vasissati, na ta½ tatr±vatiµµhati.
“Sa kho so, g±maºi, ariyas±vako eva½ vigat±bhijjho vigataby±p±do asamm³¼ho sampaj±no paµissato karuº±sahagatena cetas±…pe… mudit±sahagatena cetas±…pe…. Upekkh±sahagatena cetas± eka½ disa½ pharitv± viharati, tath± dutiya½, tath± tatiya½, tath± catuttha½. Iti uddhamadho tiriya½ sabbadhi sabbattat±ya sabb±vanta½ loka½ upekkh±sahagatena cetas± vipulena mahaggatena appam±ºena averena aby±pajjena pharitv± viharati. Seyyath±pi, g±maºi, balav± saªkhadhamo appakasireneva catuddis± viññ±peyya; evameva kho, g±maºi, eva½ bh±vit±ya upekkh±ya cetovimuttiy± eva½ bahul²kat±ya ya½ pam±ºakata½ kamma½ na ta½ tatr±vasissati, na ta½ tatr±vatiµµhat²”ti. Eva½ vutte, asibandhakaputto g±maºi bhagavanta½ etadavoca– “abhikkanta½, bhante, abhikkanta½, bhante…pe… up±saka½ ma½ bhagav± dh±retu ajjatagge p±ºupeta½ saraºa½ gatan”ti. Aµµhama½.
