361. Eka½ samaya½ bhagav± kosalesu c±rika½ caram±no mahat± bhikkhusaªghena saddhi½ yena n±¼and± tadavasari Tatra suda½ bhagav± n±¼and±ya½ viharati p±v±rikambavane. Tena kho pana samayena n±¼and± dubbhikkh± hoti dv²hitik± setaµµhik± sal±k±vutt±. Tena kho pana samayena nigaºµho n±µaputto n±¼and±ya½ paµivasati mahatiy± nigaºµhaparis±ya saddhi½. Atha kho asibandhakaputto g±maºi nigaºµhas±vako yena nigaºµho n±µaputto tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± nigaºµha½ n±µaputta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinna½ kho asibandhakaputta½ g±maºi½ nigaºµho n±µaputto etadavoca– “ehi tva½, g±maºi, samaºassa gotamassa v±da½ ±ropehi. Eva½ te kaly±ºo kittisaddo abbhuggacchissati– ‘asibandhakaputtena g±maºin± samaºassa gotamassa eva½mahiddhikassa eva½mah±nubh±vassa v±do ±ropito”’ti. “Katha½ pan±ha½, bhante, samaºassa gotamassa eva½mahiddhikassa eva½mah±nubh±vassa v±da½ ±ropess±m²”ti “Ehi tva½, g±maºi, yena samaºo gotamo tenupasaªkama; upasaªkamitv± samaºa½ gotama½ eva½ vadehi– ‘nanu, bhante, bhagav± anekapariy±yena kul±na½ anuddaya½ [anudaya½ (sy±. ka½. p². ka.)] vaººeti, anurakkha½ vaººeti, anukampa½ vaººet²’ti? Sace kho, g±maºi, samaºo gotamo eva½ puµµho eva½ by±karoti– ‘eva½, g±maºi, tath±gato anekapariy±yena kul±na½ anuddaya½ vaººeti, anurakkha½ vaººeti, anukampa½ vaººet²’ti, tamena½ tva½ eva½ vadeyy±si– ‘atha kiñcarahi, bhante, bhagav± dubbhikkhe dv²hitike setaµµhike sal±k±vutte mahat± bhikkhusaªghena saddhi½ c±rika½ carati? Ucched±ya bhagav± kul±na½ paµipanno, anay±ya bhagav± kul±na½ paµipanno, upagh±t±ya bhagav± kul±na½ paµipanno’ti! Ima½ kho te, g±maºi, samaºo gotamo ubhatokoµika½ pañha½ puµµho neva sakkhati [sakkhiti (s².) ma. ni. 2.83] uggilitu½, neva sakkhati ogilitun”ti. “Eva½ bhante”ti kho asibandhakaputto g±maºi nigaºµhassa n±µaputtassa paµissutv± uµµh±y±san± nigaºµha½ n±µaputta½ abhiv±detv± padakkhiºa½ katv± yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinno kho asibandhakaputto g±maºi bhagavanta½ etadavoca– “Nanu, bhante, bhagav± anekapariy±yena kul±na½ anuddaya½ vaººeti, anurakkha½ vaººeti, anukampa½ vaººet²”ti? “Eva½, g±maºi, tath±gato anekapariy±yena kul±na½ anuddaya½ vaººeti, anurakkha½ vaººeti, anukampa½ vaººet²”ti. “Atha kiñcarahi, bhante, bhagav± dubbhikkhe dv²hitike setaµµhike sal±k±vutte mahat± bhikkhusaªghena saddhi½ c±rika½ carati? Ucched±ya bhagav± kul±na½ paµipanno, anay±ya bhagav± kul±na½ paµipanno, upagh±t±ya bhagav± kul±na½ paµipanno”ti. “Ito so, g±maºi, ekanavutikappe [ekanavuto kappo (sy±. ka½.), ekanavutikappo (p².)] yamaha½ anussar±mi, n±bhij±n±mi kiñci kula½ pakkabhikkh±nuppad±namattena upahatapubba½. Atha kho y±ni t±ni kul±ni a¹¹h±ni mahaddhan±ni mah±bhog±ni pah³taj±tar³parajat±ni pah³tavitt³pakaraº±ni pah³tadhanadhaññ±ni, sabb±ni t±ni d±nasambh³t±ni ceva saccasambh³t±ni ca s±maññasambh³t±ni ca. Aµµha kho, g±maºi, het³, aµµha paccay± kul±na½ upagh±t±ya. R±jato v± kul±ni upagh±ta½ gacchanti, corato v± kul±ni upagh±ta½ gacchanti, aggito v± kul±ni upagh±ta½ gacchanti udakato v± kul±ni upagh±ta½ gacchanti, nihita½ v± µh±n± vigacchati [nihita½ v± n±dhigacchanti (s². p².)], duppayutt± v± kammant± vipajjanti, kule v± kulaªg±roti [kul±na½ v± kulaªg±ro (s².)] uppajjati, yo te bhoge vikirati vidhamati viddha½seti, aniccat±ye aµµham²ti. Ime kho, g±maºi, aµµha het³, aµµha paccay± kul±na½ upagh±t±ya Imesu kho, g±maºi, aµµhasu het³su, aµµhasu paccayesu sa½vijjam±nesu yo ma½ eva½ vadeyya– ‘ucched±ya bhagav± kul±na½ paµipanno, anay±ya bhagav± kul±na½ paµipanno, upagh±t±ya bhagav± kul±na½ paµipanno’ti, ta½, g±maºi, v±ca½ appah±ya ta½ citta½ appah±ya ta½ diµµhi½ appaµinissajjitv± yath±bhata½ nikkhitto eva½ niraye”ti. Eva½ vutte, asibandhakaputto g±maºi bhagavanta½ etadavoca– “abhikkanta½, bhante, abhikkanta½, bhante…pe… up±saka½ ma½ bhagav± dh±retu ajjatagge p±ºupeta½ saraºa½ gatan”ti. Navama½.
