Eva½ mah±r±jasaddassa ok±rantatte siddhe “mah±r±j±, mah±r±jasm±, mah±r±jamh±”ti pañcamiy± ekavacanañca “mah±r±je, mah±r±jasmi½, mah±r±jamh²”ti sattamiy± ekavacanañca siddh±ni eva honti p±¼iya½ avijjam±n±nampi nayavasena gahetabbatt±. “R±jena, r±jass±”ti-±d²ni pana nayavasena gahetabb±ni na honti. Kasm±ti ce? Yasm± “r±j± brahm± sakh± att±”iccevam±d²ni “puriso urago”ti-±d²ni viya aññamañña½ sabbath± sadis±ni na honti. Yath± ca “d±µhini m±timaññavho, siªg±lo mama p±ºado”ti ettha “maññavho”ti, “suddh± suddhehi sa½v±sa½, kappayavho patissat±”ti ettha pana “kappayavho”ti ca kriy±padassa dassanato “gacchavho, bhuñjavho, sayavho”ti-±d²nipi gahetabb±ni honti. Gaºhanti ca t±dis±ni padar³p±ni s±sane sukusal± kusal±, tasm± amhehipi nayagg±havasena “mah±r±j± mah±r±jasm±”ti-±d²ni vutt±ni. Nayagg±havasena pana gahaºe asati katha½ n±mikapadam±l± paripuºº± bhavissanti, satiyeva tasmi½ paripuºº± bhavanti.
Tath± hi buddhavacane anekasatasahass±ni n±mikapad±ni kriy±pad±ni ca p±µi-ekka½ p±µi-ekka½ ekavacanabahuvacanak±hi sattahi aµµhahi v± n±mavibhatt²hi channavutiy± ca ±khy±tikavacanehi yojit±ni na santi, nayavasena pana santiyeva, iti nayavasena “mah±r±j±, mah±r±jasm±”ti-±d²ni amhehi µhapit±ni. “Mah±r±j± tiµµhanti, mah±r±j± tumhe tiµµhath±”ti im±ni pana “atha kho catt±ro mah±r±j± mahatiy± ca yakkhasen±ya mahatiy± ca kumbhaº¹asen±y±”ti dassanato,
“Catt±ro te mah±r±j±, samant± caturo dis±;
dadda¼ham±n± aµµha½su, vane k±pilavatthave”ti
