387. ¾vibh±va½ tirobh±vanti ettha ±vibh±va½ karoti tirobh±va½ karot²ti ayamattho Idameva hi sandh±ya paµisambhid±ya½ vutta½ “±vibh±vanti kenaci an±vaµa½ hoti appaµicchanna½ vivaµa½ p±kaµa½. Devar±j± pattac²vara½ aggahesi, mah±brahm± tiyojanika½ setacchatta½, suy±mo v±¼ab²jani½, pańcasikho gandhabbaputto tig±vutamatta½ be¼uvapaŗ¹uv²ŗa½ gahetv± tath±gatassa p³ja½ karonto otarati. Tipiµakac³¼±bhayatthero panetth±ha– “±k±sakasiŗasam±pajjana½, ±vuso, kimatthiya½, ki½ hatthi-ass±d²ni abhinimminituk±mo hatthi-ass±di kasiŗ±ni sam±pajjati, nanu yattha katthaci kasiŗe parikamma½ katv± aµµhasam±pattivas²bh±voyeva pam±ŗa½. Sace panassa bhikkhuno adhiµµhahitv± gacchantassa antar± pabbato v± rukkho v± uµµheti, ki½ puna sam±pajjitv± adhiµµh±tabbanti? Doso natthi. Puna sam±pajjitv± adhiµµh±na½ hi upajjh±yassa santike nissayaggahaŗasadisa½ hoti. Imin± ca pana bhikkhun± ±k±so hot³ti adhiµµhitatt± ±k±so hotiyeva. Purim±dhiµµh±nabaleneva cassa antar± ańńo pabbato v± rukkho v± utumayo uµµhahissat²ti aµµh±nameveta½. Ańńena iddhimat± nimmite pana paµhamanimm±na½ balava½ hoti. Itarena tassa uddha½ v± adho v± gantabba½.
393. Pathaviy±pi ummujjanimujjanti ettha ummujjanti uµµh±na½ vuccati. Nimujjanti sa½s²dana½. Ummujjańca nimujjańca ummujjanimujja½. Eva½ k±tuk±mena ±pokasiŗa½ sam±pajjitv± uµµh±ya ettake µh±ne pathav² udaka½ hot³ti paricchinditv± parikamma½ katv± vuttanayeneva adhiµµh±tabba½. Saha adhiµµh±nena yath± paricchinne µh±ne pathav² udakameva hoti. So tattha ummujjanimujja½ karoti. Tatr±ya½ p±¼i–

Uddharitv± bh±janagata½ karontassa sappi sappimeva hoti. Tel±d²ni tel±d²niyeva. Udaka½ udakameva. So tattha temituk±mova temeti, na temituk±mo na temeti. Tasseva ca s± pathav² udaka½ hoti sesajanassa pathav²yeva. Tattha manuss± pattik±pi gacchanti, y±n±d²hipi gacchanti, kasikamm±d²nipi karontiyeva. Sace pan±ya½ tesampi udaka½ hot³ti icchati, hotiyeva. Paricchinnak±la½ pana atikkamitv± ya½ pakatiy± ghaµata¼±k±d²su udaka½, ta½ µhapetv± avasesa½ paricchinnaµµh±na½ pathav²yeva hoti.
394. Udakepi abhijjam±neti ettha ya½ udaka½ akkamitv± sa½s²dati, ta½ bhijjam±nanti vuccati. Vipar²ta½ abhijjam±na½. Eva½ gantuk±mena pana pathav²kasiŗa½ sam±pajjitv± vuµµh±ya ettake µh±ne udaka½ pathav² hot³ti paricchinditv± parikamma½ katv± vuttanayeneva adhiµµh±tabba½. Saha adhiµµh±nena yath± paricchinnaµµh±ne udaka½ pathav²yeva hoti. So tattha gacchati, tatr±ya½ p±¼i–
“Pakatiy± pathav²kasiŗasam±pattiy± l±bh² hoti. Udaka½ ±vajjati. ¾vajjitv± ń±ŗena adhiµµh±ti– ‘pathav² hot³’ti. Pathav² hoti. So abhijjam±ne udake gacchati. Yath± manuss± pakatiy± aniddhimanto abhijjam±n±ya pathaviy± gacchanti, evameva so iddhim± cetovasippatto abhijjam±ne udake gacchati, seyyath±pi pathaviyan”ti (paµi. ma. 3.11).

Tasseva ca ta½ udaka½ pathav² hoti, sesajanassa udakameva, macchakacchap± ca udakak±k±dayo ca yath±ruci vicaranti. Sace pan±ya½ ańńesampi manuss±na½ ta½ pathavi½ k±tu½ icchati, karotiyeva. Paricchinnak±l±tikkamena pana udakameva hoti.
395. PallaŖkena kamat²ti pallaŖkena gacchati. Pakkh² sakuŗoti pakkhehi yuttasakuŗo. Eva½ k±tuk±mena pana pathav²kasiŗa½ sam±pajjitv± vuµµh±ya sace nisinno gantumicchati, pallaŖkappam±ŗa½ µh±na½ paricchinditv± parikamma½ katv± vuttanayeneva adhiµµh±tabba½. Sace nipanno gantuk±mo hoti mańcappam±ŗa½, sace padas± gantuk±mo hoti maggappam±ŗanti eva½ yath±nur³pa½ µh±na½ paricchinditv± vuttanayeneva pathav² hot³ti adhiµµh±tabba½, saha adhiµµh±nena pathav²yeva hoti.
