Anusaññ±yam±noti tattha tattha gantv± paccavekkham±no. Bhaºeti issar±na½ n²caµµh±nikapuris±lapana½. Bandha½ ±º±pes²ti br±hmaºo pakatiy±pi tasmi½ iss±pakatova. So rañño “±º±peh²”ti vacana½ sutv± yasm± “pakkos±peh²”ti rañño na vutta½, tasm± “na½ hatthesu ca p±desu ca bandha½ katv± ±º±pess±m²”ti bandha½ ±º±pesi. Addasa kho ±yasm± dhaniyoti katha½ addasa? So kira attan± lesena d±r³na½ haµabh±va½ ñatv± “nissa½saya½ esa d±r³na½ k±raº± r±jakulato vadha½ v± bandha½ v± p±puºissati, tad± na½ ahameva mocess±m²”ti niccak±la½ tassa pavatti½ suºantoyeva vicarati. Lomena tva½ muttos²ti ettha lomamiva loma½, ki½ pana ta½? Pabbajj±liªga½. Ki½ vutta½ hoti? Yath± n±ma dhutt± “ma½sa½ kh±diss±m±”ti mahagghaloma½ e¼aka½ gaºheyyu½. Tamena½ añño viññupuriso disv± “imassa e¼akassa ma½sa½ kah±paºamatta½ agghati. Lom±ni pana lomav±re lomav±re aneke kah±paºe agghant²”ti dve alomake e¼ake datv± gaºheyya. Eva½ so e¼ako viññupurisam±gamma lomena mucceyya. Evameva tva½ imassa kammassa katatt± vadhabandhan±raho. Yasm± pana arahaddhajo sabbhi avajjhar³po, tvañca s±sane pabbajitatt± ya½ pabbajj±liªgabh³ta½ arahaddhaja½ dh±resi. Tasm± tva½ imin± pabbajj±liªgalomena e¼ako viya viññupurisam±gamma muttos²ti.
Manuss± ujjh±yant²ti rañño parisati bh±sam±nassa sammukh± ca parammukh± ca sutv± tattha tattha manuss± ujjh±yanti, avajjh±yanti, avaj±nant± ta½ jh±yanti olokenti l±makato v± cintent²ti attho. Khiyyant²ti tassa avaººa½ kathenti pak±senti. Vip±cent²ti vitth±rika½ karonti, sabbattha pattharanti; ayañca attho saddasatth±nus±rena veditabbo. Aya½ panettha yojan±– “alajjino ime samaº± sakyaputtiy±”ti-±d²ni cintent± ujjh±yanti. “Natthi imesa½ s±maññan”ti-±d²ni bhaºant± khiyyanti. “Apagat± ime s±maññ±”ti-±d²ni tattha tattha vitth±rent± vip±cent²ti. Etena nayena imesa½ pad±na½ ito parampi tattha tattha ±gatapad±nur³pena yojan± veditabb±. Brahmac±rinoti seµµhac±rino. S±maññanti samaºabh±vo. Brahmaññanti seµµhabh±vo. Sesa½ utt±natthameva.
Rañño d±r³n²ti-±dimhi “adinna½ ±diyissat²”ti aya½ ujjh±yanattho. Ya½ paneta½ adinna½ ±diyi, ta½ dassetu½ “rañño d±r³n²”ti vutta½. Iti vacanabhede asammuyhantehi attho veditabbo. Pur±ºavoh±riko mah±mattoti bhikkhubh±vato pur±ºe gihik±le vinicchayavoh±re niyuttatt± “voh±riko”ti saªkha½ gato mah±-amacco.
Atha kho bhagav± ta½ bhikkhu½ etadavoc±ti bhagav± s±ma½yeva lokavoh±rampi j±n±ti, at²tabuddh±na½ paññattimpi j±n±ti– “pubbepi buddh± ettakena p±r±jika½ paññapenti, ettakena thullaccaya½, ettakena dukkaµan”ti. Eva½ santepi sace aññehi lokavoh±raviññ³hi saddhi½ asa½sanditv± p±damattena p±r±jika½ paññapeyya, tenassa siyu½ vatt±ro “s²lasa½varo n±ma ekabhikkhussapi appameyyo asaªkhyeyyo mah±pathav²-samudda-±k±s±ni viya ativitthiººo, kathañhi n±ma bhagav± p±damattakena n±ses²”ti! Tato tath±gatassa ñ±ºabala½ aj±nant± sikkh±pada½ kopeyyu½, paññattampi sikkh±pada½ yath±µh±ne na tiµµheyya. Lokavoh±raviññ³hi pana saddhi½ sa½sanditv± paññatte so upav±do na hoti. Aññadatthu eva½ vatt±ro honti– “imehi n±ma ag±rik±pi p±damattena cora½ hanantipi bandhantipi pabb±jentipi. Kasm± bhagav± pabbajita½ na n±sessati; yena parasantaka½ tiºasal±kamattampi na gahetabban”ti! Tath±gatassa ca ñ±ºabala½ j±nissanti. Paññattampi ca sikkh±pada½ akuppa½ bhavissati, yath±µh±ne µhassati. Tasm± lokavoh±raviññ³hi saddhi½ sa½sanditv± paññapetuk±mo sabb±vanta½ parisa½ anuvilokento atha kho bhagav± avid³re nisinna½ disv± ta½ bhikkhu½ etadavoca “kittakena kho bhikkhu r±j± m±gadho seniyo bimbis±ro cora½ gahetv± hanati v± bandhati v± pabb±jeti v±”ti.
Tattha m±gadhoti magadh±na½ issaro. Seniyoti sen±ya sampanno. Bimbis±roti tassa n±ma½. Pabb±jeti v±ti raµµhato nikkh±meti. Sesamettha utt±natthameva. Pañcam±sako p±doti tad± r±jagahe v²satim±sako kah±paºo hoti, tasm± pañcam±sako p±do. Etena lakkhaºena sabbajanapadesu kah±paºassa catuttho bh±go “p±do”ti veditabbo. So ca kho por±ºassa n²lakah±paºassa vasena, na itaresa½ rudrad±mak±d²na½. Tena hi p±dena at²tabuddh±pi p±r±jika½ paññapesu½, an±gat±pi paññapessanti. Sabbabuddh±nañhi p±r±jikavatthumhi v± p±r±jike v± n±natta½ natthi. Im±neva catt±ri p±r±jikavatth³ni Im±neva catt±ri p±r±jik±ni. Ito ³na½ v± atireka½ v± natthi. Tasm± bhagav±pi dhaniya½ vigarahitv± p±deneva dutiyap±r±jika½ paññapento “yo pana bhikkhu adinna½ theyyasaªkh±tan”ti-±dim±ha.
Eva½ m³lacchejjavasena da¼ha½ katv± dutiyap±r±jike paññatte aparampi anupaññattatth±ya rajakabhaº¹ikavatthu udap±di, tassuppattid²panatthameta½ vutta½– “evañcida½ bhagavat± bhikkh³na½ sikkh±pada½ paññatta½ hot²”ti. Tassattho ca anupaññattisambandho ca paµhamap±r±jikavaººan±ya½ vuttanayeneva veditabbo. Yath± ca idha, eva½ ito paresu sabbasikkh±padesu. Ya½ ya½ pubbe vutta½, ta½ ta½ sabba½ vajjetv± upar³pari apubbameva vaººayiss±ma. Yadi hi ya½ ya½ vuttanaya½, ta½ ta½ punapi vaººayiss±ma, kad± vaººan±ya anta½ gamiss±ma! Tasm± ya½ ya½ pubbe vutta½, ta½ ta½ sabba½ s±dhuka½ upasallakkhetv± tattha tattha attho ca yojan± ca veditabb±. Apubba½ pana ya½kiñci anutt±nattha½, ta½ sabba½ mayameva vaººayiss±ma.

Rajakabhaº¹ikanti rajak±na½ bhaº¹ika½; rajak± s±yanhasamaye nagara½ pavisant± bah³ni vatth±ni ekeka½ bhaº¹ika½ bandhanti. Tato eka½ bhaº¹ika½ tesa½ pam±dena apassant±na½ avaharitv± thenetv±ti attho.
