Tattha ya½ nekkhammasita½ domanassa½ kud±ssun±m±ha½ ta½ ±yatana½ sacchikatv± upasampajja viharissa½ ya½ ariy± santa½ ±yatana½ sacchikatv± upasampajja viharant²ti tassa uppajjati pih±, pih±paccay± domanassa½, aya½ taºh± kusal± r±gavir±g± cetovimutti, tad±rammaº± kusal± avijj±vir±g± paññ±vimutti. Catt±ri indriy±ni dukkhindriya½ domanassindriya½ sukhindriya½ somanassindriyañca catutthajjh±ne nirujjhanti, tassa upekkhindriya½ avasiµµha½ bhavati. Aya½ sam±dhi “paccuppannasukho”ti itissa paccattameva ñ±ºadassana½ paccupaµµhita½ bhavati, aya½ sam±dhi “±yati½ sukhavip±ko”ti itissa paccattameva ñ±ºadassana½ paccupaµµhita½ bhavati, aya½ sam±dhi “ariyo nir±miso”ti itissa paccattameva ñ±ºadassana½ paccupaµµhita½ bhavati, aya½ sam±dhi “ak±purisasevito”ti itissa paccattameva ñ±ºadassana½ paccupaµµhita½ bhavati, aya½ sam±dhi “santo ceva paº²to ca paµippassaddhiladdho ca ekodibh±v±dhigato ca na sasaªkh±raniggayhav±ritagato [sasaªkh±raniggayhav±ritavato (s².), sasaªkh±raniggayhav±riv±vaµo (ka.)] c±”ti itissa paccattameva ñ±ºadassana½ paccupaµµhita½ bhavati. Tattha yo ca sam±dhi paccuppannasukho yo ca sam±dhi ±yati½ sukhavip±ko aya½ samatho. Yo ca sam±dhi ariyo nir±miso, yo ca sam±dhi ak±purisasevito, yo ca sam±dhi santo ceva paº²to paµippassaddhiladdho ca ekodibh±v±dhigato ca na sasaªkh±raniggayhav±ritagato ca yañc±ha½ ta½ kho panima½ sam±dhi½ sato sam±pajj±mi sato vuµµhah±m²ti, aya½ vipassan±. So sam±dhi pañcavidhena veditabbo p²tipharaºat± sukhapharaºat± cetopharaºat± ±lokapharaºat± paccavekkhaº±nimitta½. Tattha yo ca p²tipharaºo yo ca sukhapharaºo yo ca cetopharaºo, aya½ samatho. Yo ca ±lokapharaºo yañca paccavekkhaº±nimitta½. Aya½ vipassan±. 55. Dasa kasiº±yatan±ni pathav²kasiºa½ ±pokasiºa½ tejokasiºa½ v±yokasiºa½ n²lakasiºa½ p²takasiºa½ lohitakasiºa½ od±takasiºa½ ±k±sakasiºa½ viññ±ºakasiºa½. Tattha yañca pathav²kasiºa½ yañca ±pokasiºa½ eva½ sabba½, yañca od±takasiºa½. Im±ni aµµha kasiº±ni samatho. Yañca ±k±sakasiºa½ yañca viññ±ºakasiºa½, aya½ vipassan±. Eva½ sabbo ariyo maggo yena yena ±k±rena vutto, tena tena samathavipassanena yojayitabbo. Te t²hi dhammehi saªgahit± aniccat±ya dukkhat±ya anattat±ya. So samathavipassana½ bh±vayam±no t²ºi vimokkhamukh±ni bh±vayati. T²ºi vimokkhamukh±ni bh±vayanto tayo khandhe bh±vayati. Tayo khandhe bh±vayanto ariya½ aµµhaªgika½ magga½ bh±vayati. Tattha suññatavimokkhamukha½ paññ±kkhandho, animittavimokkhamukha½ sam±dhikkhandho, appaºihitavimokkhamukha½ s²lakkhandho. So t²ºi vimokkhamukh±ni bh±vayanto tayo khandhe bh±vayati, tayo khandhe bh±vayanto ariya½ aµµhaªgika½ magga½ bh±vayati. Tattha y± ca samm±v±c± yo ca samm±kammanto yo ca samm±-±j²vo, aya½ s²lakkhandho, yo ca samm±v±y±mo y± ca samm±sati yo ca samm±sam±dhi, aya½ sam±dhikkhandho, y± ca samm±diµµhi yo ca samm±saªkappo, aya½ paññ±kkhandho. Tattha s²lakkhandho ca sam±dhikkhandho ca samatho, paññ±kkhandho vipassan±. Yo samathavipassana½ bh±veti, tassa dve bhavaªg±ni bh±vana½ gacchanti k±yo cittañca, bhavanirodhag±min² paµipad± dve pad±ni s²la½ sam±dhi ca. So hoti bhikkhu bh±vitak±yo bh±vitas²lo bh±vitacitto bh±vitapañño. K±ye bh±viyam±ne dve dhamm± bh±vana½ gacchanti samm±kammanto samm±v±y±mo ca, s²le bh±viyam±ne dve dhamm± bh±vana½ gacchanti samm±v±c± samm±-±j²vo ca, citte bh±viyam±ne dve dhamm± bh±vana½ gacchanti samm±sati samm±sam±dhi ca, paññ±ya bh±viyam±n±ya dve dhamm± bh±vana½ gacchanti samm±diµµhi samm±saªkappo ca. Tattha yo ca samm±kammanto yo ca samm±v±y±mo siy± k±yiko siy± cetasiko, tattha yo k±yasaªgaho, so k±ye bh±vite bh±vana½ gacchati, yo cittasaªgaho, so citte bh±vite bh±vana½ gacchati. So samathavipassana½ bh±vayanto pañcavidha½ adhigama½ gacchati [adhigacchati (s².)] khipp±dhigamo ca hoti, vimutt±dhigamo ca hoti, mah±dhigamo ca hoti, vipul±dhigamo ca hoti, anavases±dhigamo ca hoti. Tattha samathena khipp±dhigamo ca mah±dhigamo ca vipul±dhigamo ca hoti, vipassan±ya vimutt±dhigamo ca anavases±dhigamo ca hoti. 56. Tattha yo desayati, so dasabalasamann±gato satth± ov±dena s±vake na visa½v±dayati. So tividha½ ida½ karotha imin± up±yena karotha ida½ vo kurum±n±na½ hit±ya sukh±ya bhavissati, so tath± ovadito tath±nusiµµho tath±karonto tath±paµipajjanto ta½ bh³mi½ na p±puºissat²ti neta½ µh±na½ vijjati. So tath± ovadito tath±nusiµµho s²lakkhandha½ aparip³rayanto ta½ bh³mi½ anup±puºissat²ti neta½ µh±na½ vijjati. So tath± ovadito tath±nusiµµho s²lakkhandha½ parip³rayanto ta½ bh³mi½ anup±puºissat²ti µh±nameta½ vijjati. Samm±sambuddhassa te sato ime dhamm± anabhisambuddh±ti neta½ µh±na½ vijjati. Sabb±savaparikkh²ºassa te sato ime ±sav± aparikkh²º±ti neta½ µh±na½ vijjati. Yassa te atth±ya dhammo desito, so na niyy±ti takkarassa samm± dukkhakkhay±y±ti neta½ µh±na½ vijjati. S±vako kho pana te dhamm±nudhammappaµipanno s±m²cippaµipanno anudhammac±r² so pubbena apara½ u¼±ra½ vises±dhigama½ na sacchikarissat²ti neta½ µh±na½ vijjati. Ye kho pana dhamm± antar±yik±, te paµisevato n±la½ antar±y±y±ti neta½ µh±na½ vijjati. Ye kho pana dhamm± aniyy±nik±, te niyyanti takkarassa samm± dukkhakkhay±y±ti neta½ µh±na½ vijjati. Ye kho pana dhamm± niyy±nik±, te niyyanti takkarassa samm± dukkhakkhay±y±ti µh±nameta½ vijjati. S±vako kho pana te sa-up±diseso anup±disesa½ nibb±nadh±tu½ anup±puºissat²ti neta½ µh±na½ vijjati. Diµµhisampanno m±tara½ j²vit± voropeyya hatthehi v± p±dehi v± suhata½ kareyy±ti neta½ µh±na½ vijjati, puthujjano m±tara½ j²vit± voropeyya hatthehi v± p±dehi v± suhata½ kareyy±ti µh±nameta½ vijjati.
