29. Tattha katamo ±vaµµo h±ro? “Ekamhi padaµµh±ne”ti aya½.
“¾rambhatha [±rabbhatha (s².) sa½. ni. 1.185; therag±. 256 passitabba½] nikkamatha, yuñjatha buddhas±sane;
dhun±tha maccuno sena½, na¼±g±ra½va kuñjaro”ti.
“¾rambhatha nikkamath±”ti v²riyassa padaµµh±na½. “Yuñjatha buddhas±sane”ti sam±dhissa padaµµh±na½. “Dhun±tha maccuno sena½, na¼±g±ra½va kuñjaro”ti paññ±ya padaµµh±na½. “¾rambhatha nikkamath±”ti v²riyindriyassa padaµµh±na½. “Yuñjatha buddhas±sane”ti sam±dhindriyassa padaµµh±na½. “Dhun±tha maccuno sena½, na¼±g±ra½va kuñjaro”ti paññindriyassa padaµµh±na½. Im±ni padaµµh±n±ni desan±. Ayuñjant±na½ v± satt±na½ yoge, yuñjant±na½ v± ±rambho. Tattha ye na yuñjanti, te pam±dam³lak± na yuñjanti. So pam±do duvidho taºh±m³lako avijj±m³lako ca. Tattha avijj±m³lako yena aññ±ºena nivuto ñeyyaµµh±na½ nappaj±n±ti pañcakkhandh± upp±davayadhamm±ti, aya½ avijj±m³lako. Yo taºh±m³lako, so tividho anuppann±na½ bhog±na½ upp±d±ya pariyesanto pam±da½ ±pajjati, uppann±na½ bhog±na½ ±rakkhanimitta½ paribhoganimittañca pam±da½ ±pajjati aya½ loke catubbidho pam±do ekavidho avijj±ya tividho taºh±ya. Tattha avijj±ya n±mak±yo padaµµh±na½. Taºh±ya r³pak±yo padaµµh±na½. Ta½ kissa hetu, r³p²su bhavesu ajjhos±na½, ar³p²su sammoho? Tattha r³pak±yo r³pakkhandho n±mak±yo catt±ro ar³pino khandh±. Ime pañcakkhandh± katamena up±d±nena sa-up±d±n±, taºh±ya ca avijj±ya ca? Tattha taºh± dve up±d±n±ni k±mup±d±nañca s²labbatup±d±nañca. Avijj± dve up±d±n±ni diµµhup±d±nañca attav±dup±d±nañca. Imehi cat³hi up±d±nehi ye sa-up±d±n± khandh±, ida½ dukkha½. Catt±ri up±d±n±ni, aya½ samudayo. Pañcakkhandh± dukkha½. Tesa½ bhagav± pariññ±ya pah±n±ya ca dhamma½ deseti dukkhassa pariññ±ya samudayassa pah±n±ya. 30. Tattha yo tividho taºh±m³lako pam±do anuppann±na½ bhog±na½ upp±d±ya pariyesati, uppann±na½ bhog±na½ ±rakkhaºañca karoti paribhoganimittañca, tassa sampaµivedhena rakkhaº± paµisa½haraº±, aya½ samatho. So katha½ bhavati? Yad± j±n±ti k±m±na½ ass±dañca ass±dato ±d²navañca ±d²navato nissaraºañca nissaraºato ok±rañca sa½kilesañca vod±nañca nekkhamme ca ±nisa½sa½. Tattha y± v²ma½s± upaparikkh± aya½ vipassan±. Ime dve dhamm± bh±van±p±rip³ri½ gacchanti samatho ca vipassan± ca. Imesu dv²su dhammesu bh±viyam±nesu dve dhamm± pah²yanti taºh± ca avijj± ca, imesu dv²su dhammesu pah²nesu catt±ri up±d±n±ni nirujjhanti. Up±d±nanirodh± bhavanirodho, bhavanirodh± j±tinirodho, j±tinirodh± jar±maraºa½ sokaparidevadukkhadomanassup±y±s± nirujjhanti. Evametassa kevalassa dukkhakkhandhassa nirodho hoti. Iti purimak±ni ca dve sacc±ni dukkha½ samudayo ca, samatho ca vipassan± ca maggo. Bhavanirodho nibb±na½ im±ni catt±ri sacc±ni. Ten±ha bhagav± “±rambhatha nikkamath±”ti.
Yath±pi m³le anupaddave da¼he, chinnopi rukkho punareva [punadeva (ka.) passa dha. pa. 338] r³hati;
evampi taºh±nusaye an³hate, nibbattat² dukkhamida½ punappuna½.
Aya½ taºh±nusayo. Katamass± taºh±ya? Bhavataºh±ya. Yo etassa dhammassa paccayo aya½ avijj±. Avijj±paccay± hi bhavataºh±. Ime dve kiles± taºh± ca avijj± ca. T±ni catt±ri up±d±n±ni tehi cat³hi up±d±nehi ye sa-up±d±n± khandh±, ida½ dukkha½. Catt±ri up±d±n±ni aya½ samudayo. Pañcakkhandh± dukkha½. Tesa½ bhagav± pariññ±ya ca pah±n±ya ca dhamma½ deseti dukkhassa pariññ±ya samudayassa pah±n±ya. Yena taºh±nusaya½ sam³hanati [sam³hanti (s².)], aya½ samatho. Yena taºh±nusayassa paccaya½ avijja½ v±rayati, aya½ vipassan±. Ime dve dhamm± bh±van±p±rip³ri½ gacchanti samatho ca vipassan± ca. Tattha samathassa phala½ r±gavir±g± cetovimutti, vipassan±ya phala½ avijj±vir±g± paññ±vimutti. Iti purimak±ni ca dve sacc±ni dukkha½ samudayo ca, samatho vipassan± ca maggo, dve ca vimuttiyo nirodho. Im±ni catt±ri sacc±ni. Ten±ha bhagav± “yath±pi m³le”ti.
“Sabbap±passa akaraºa½, kusalassa upasampad±;
sacittapariyod±pana½ [pariyodapana½ (s².) dha. pa. 183; d². ni. 2.90 passitabba½], eta½ buddh±na s±sanan”ti.
Sabbap±pa½ n±ma t²ºi duccarit±ni k±yaduccarita½ vac²duccarita½ manoduccarita½, te dasa akusalakammapath± p±º±tip±to adinn±d±na½ k±mesumicch±c±ro mus±v±do pisuº± v±c± pharus± v±c± samphappal±po abhijjh± by±p±do micch±diµµhi, t±ni dve kamm±ni cetan± cetasikañca. Tattha yo ca p±º±tip±to y± ca pisuº± v±c± y± ca pharus± v±c±, ida½ dosasamuµµh±na½. Yañca adinn±d±na½ yo ca k±mesumicch±c±ro yo ca mus±v±do, ida½ lobhasamuµµh±na½, yo samphappal±po, ida½ mohasamuµµh±na½. Im±ni satta k±raº±ni cetan±kamma½. Y± abhijjh±, aya½ lobho akusalam³la½. Yo by±p±do, aya½ doso akusalam³la½. Y± micch±diµµhi, aya½ micch±maggo. Im±ni t²ºi k±raº±ni cetasikakamma½. Ten±ha “cetan±kamma½ cetasikakamman”ti. Akusalam³la½ payoga½ gacchanta½ catubbidha½ agati½ gacchati chand± dos± bhay± moh±. Tattha ya½ chand± agati½ gacchati, ida½ lobhasamuµµh±na½. Ya½ dos± agati½ gacchati, ida½ dosasamuµµh±na½. Ya½ bhay± ca moh± ca agati½ gacchati, ida½ mohasamuµµh±na½. Tattha lobho asubh±ya pah²yati. Doso mett±ya. Moho paññ±ya. Tath± lobho upekkh±ya pah²yati. Doso mett±ya ca karuº±ya ca. Moho mudit±ya pah±na½ abbhattha½ gacchati. Ten±ha bhagav± “sabbap±passa akaraºan”ti. 31. Sabbap±pa½ n±ma aµµha micchatt±ni micch±diµµhi micch±saªkappo micch±v±c± micch±kammanto micch±-±j²vo micch±v±y±mo micch±sati micch±sam±dhi, ida½ vuccati sabbap±pa½. Imesa½ aµµhanna½ micchatt±na½ y± akiriy± akaraºa½ anajjh±c±ro, ida½ vuccati sabbap±passa akaraºa½. Aµµhasu micchattesu pah²nesu aµµha sammatt±ni sampajjanti. Aµµhanna½ sammatt±na½ y± kiriy± karaºa½ samp±dana½, aya½ vuccati kusalassa upasampad±. Sacittapariyod±pananti at²tassa maggassa bh±van±kiriya½ dassayati, citte pariyod±pite [pariyodapite (s². ka.)] pañcakkhandh± pariyod±pit± bhavanti, evañhi bhagav± ±ha “cetovisuddhattha½, bhikkhave, tath±gate brahmacariya½ vussat²”ti. Duvidh± hi pariyod±pan± n²varaºappah±nañca anusayasamuggh±to ca. Dve pariyod±panabh³miyo dassanabh³mi ca, bh±van±bh³mi ca, tattha ya½ paµivedhena pariyod±peti, ida½ dukkha½. Yato pariyod±peti, aya½ samudayo. Yena pariyod±peti, aya½ maggo. Ya½ pariyod±pita½, aya½ nirodho. Im±ni catt±ri sacc±ni. Ten±ha bhagav± “sabbap±passa akaraºan”ti.
“Dhammo have rakkhati dhammac±ri½, chatta½ mahanta½ yatha vassak±le;
es±nisa½so dhamme suciººe, na duggati½ gacchati dhammac±r²”ti.
Dhammo n±ma duvidho indriyasa½varo maggo ca. Duggati n±ma duvidh± devamanusse v± upanidh±ya ap±y± duggati, nibb±na½ v± upanidh±ya sabb± upapattiyo duggati. Tattha y± sa½varas²le akhaº¹ak±rit±, aya½ dhammo suciººo ap±yehi rakkhati. Eva½ bhagav± ±ha– dvem±, bhikkhave, s²lavato gatiyo dev± ca manuss± ca. Evañca n±¼and±ya½ nigame asibandhakaputto g±maºi bhagavanta½ etadavoca– “Br±hmaº±, bhante, pacch±bh³mak± k±maº¹aluk± sev±lam±lik± udakorohak± aggiparic±rak±, te mata½ k±laªkata½ uyy±penti n±ma, saññ±penti n±ma, sagga½ n±ma okk±menti [uggamenti (s².) passa sa½. ni. 4.358]. Bhagav± pana, bhante, araha½ samm±sambuddho pahoti tath± k±tu½, yath± sabbo loko k±yassa bhed± para½ maraº± sugati½ sagga½ loka½ upapajjeyy±”ti. “Tena hi, g±maºi, taññevettha paµipucchiss±mi, yath± te khameyya, tath± na½ by±kareyy±s²ti. “Ta½ ki½ maññasi, g±maºi, idhassa puriso p±º±tip±t² adinn±d±y² k±mesumicch±c±r² mus±v±d² pisuºav±co pharusav±co samphappal±p² abhijjh±lu by±pannacitto micch±diµµhiko, tamena½ mah±janak±yo saªgamma sam±gamma ±y±ceyya thomeyya pañjaliko anuparisakkeyya ‘aya½ puriso k±yassa bhed± para½ maraº± sugati½ sagga½ loka½ upapajjat³’ti. Ta½ ki½ maññasi, g±maºi, api nu so puriso mahato janak±yassa ±y±canahetu v± thomanahetuv± pañjalika½ [pañjalik± sa½. ni. 4.358] anuparisakkanahetu v± k±yassa bhed± para½ maraº± sugati½ sagga½ loka½ upapajjeyy±”ti. “No heta½, bhante”. “Seyyath±pi, g±maºi, puriso mahati½ puthusila½ gambh²re udakarahade [udakadahe (ka.)] pakkhipeyya, tamena½ mah±janak±yo saªgamma sam±gamma ±y±ceyya thomeyya pañjaliko anuparisakkeyya ‘ummujja, bho, puthusile, uplava bho puthusile, thalamuplava, bho puthusile’ti. Ta½ ki½ maññasi g±maºi, api nu s± mahat² puthusil± mahato janak±yassa ±y±canahetu v± thomanahetu v± pañjalika½ anuparisakkanahetu v± ummujjeyya v± uplaveyya v± thala½ v± uplaveyy±”ti. “No heta½ bhante”. “Evameva kho, g±maºi, yo so puriso p±º±tip±t²…pe… micch±diµµhiko, kiñc±pi na½ mah±janak±yo saªgamma sam±gamma ±y±ceyya thomeyya pañjaliko anuparisakkeyya ‘aya½ puriso k±yassa bhed± para½ maraº± sugati½ sagga½ loka½ upapajjat³’ti. Tamena½ mah±janak±yo saªgamma sam±gamma ±y±ceyya thomeyya pañjaliko anuparisakkeyya ‘os²da, bho sappitela, sa½s²da, bho sappitela, adho gaccha [ava½gaccha (s². ka.)]‘bho sappitel±’ti. Ta½ ki½ maññasi g±maºi, api nu ta½ sappitela½ mahato janak±yassa ±y±canahetu v± thomanahetu v± pañjalika½ anuparisakkanahetu v± ‘os²deyya v± sa½s²deyya v± adho v± gaccheyy±’ti. “No heta½, bhante”. “Evameva kho, g±maºi, yo so puriso p±º±tip±t± paµivirato…pe… samm±diµµhiko, kiñc±pi na½ mah±janak±yo saªgamma sam±gamma ±y±ceyya thomeyya pañjaliko anuparisakkeyya ‘aya½ puriso k±yassa bhed± para½ maraº± ap±ya½ duggati½ vinip±ta½ niraya½ upapajjat³”’ti. 32. Tattha duggat²na½ hetu taºh± ca avijj± ca, t±ni catt±ri up±d±n±ni, tehi cat³hi up±d±nehi ye sa-up±d±n± khandh±, ida½ dukkha½. Catt±ri up±d±n±ni, aya½ samudayo. Pañcakkhandh± dukkha½, tesa½ bhagav± pariññ±ya ca pah±n±ya ca dhamma½ deseti dukkhassa pariññ±ya samudayassa pah±n±ya. Tattha taºh±ya pañcindriy±ni r³p²ni padaµµh±na½. Avijj±ya manindriya½ padaµµh±na½. Pañcindriy±ni r³p²ni rakkhanto sam±dhi½ bh±vayati, taºhañca niggaºh±ti. Manindriya½ rakkhanto vipassana½ bh±vayati, avijjañca niggaºh±ti. Taºh±niggahena dve up±d±n±ni pah²yanti k±mup±d±nañca s²labbatup±d±nañca. Avijj±niggahena dve up±d±n±ni pah²yanti diµµhup±d±nañca attav±dup±d±nañca. Cat³su up±d±nesu pah²nesu dve dhamm± bh±van±p±rip³ri½ gacchanti samatho ca vipassan± ca. Ida½ vuccati brahmacariyanti. Tattha brahmacariyassa phala½ catt±ri s±maññaphal±ni sot±pattiphala½ sakad±g±miphala½ an±g±miphala½ arahatta½ [arahattaphala½ (ka.)] aggaphala½. Im±ni catt±ri brahmacariyassa phal±ni [brahmacariyaphal±n²ti (s².)]. Iti purimak±ni ca dve sacc±ni dukkha½ samudayo ca. Samatho ca vipassan± ca brahmacariyañca maggo, brahmacariyassa phal±ni ca tad±rammaº± ca asaªkhat±dh±tu nirodho. Im±ni catt±ri sacc±ni. Ten±ha bhagav± “dhammo have rakkhat²”ti. Tattha ya½ paµivedhena rakkhati, ida½ dukkha½. Yato rakkhati, aya½ samudayo. Yena rakkhati, aya½ maggo. Ya½ rakkhati, aya½ nirodho. Im±ni catt±ri sacc±ni.
