Idha pana satth± ta½ bhikkhu½ “sacca½ kira tva½ bhikkhu dubbaco”ti pucchitv± “sacca½, bhante”ti vutte “pubbepi tva½ bhikkhu dubbacat±ya paº¹it±na½ vacana½ akatv± khuracakka½ ±p±des²”ti vatv± at²ta½ ±hari. At²te kassapadasabalassa k±le b±r±ºasiya½ as²tikoµivibhavassa seµµhino eko putto mittavindako n±ma ahosi. Tassa m±t±pitaro sot±pann± ahesu½, so pana duss²lo assaddho. Atha na½ aparabh±ge pitari k±lakate m±t± kuµumba½ vic±rent² ±ha– “t±ta, tay± dullabha½ manussatta½ laddha½, d±na½ dehi, s²la½ rakkh±hi, uposathakamma½ karohi, dhamma½ suº±h²”ti. Eva½ vadantampi na½ ekadivasa½ puººamuposathadivase m±t± ±ha– “t±ta, ajja abhilakkhito mah±-uposathadivaso, ajja uposatha½ sam±diyitv± vih±ra½ gantv± sabbaratti½ dhamma½ sutv± ehi, aha½ te sahassa½ dass±m²”ti. So “s±dh³”ti dhanalobhena uposatha½ sam±diyitv± bhuttap±tar±so vih±ra½ gantv± divasa½ v²tin±metv± ratti½ yath± ekampi dhammapada½ kaººa½ na paharati, tath± ekasmi½ padese nipajjitv± nidda½ okkamitv± punadivase p±tova mukha½ dhovitv± geha½ gantv± nis²di. So n±va½ upaµµhapetv± “amma, aha½ n±v±ya voh±ra½ kariss±m²”ti ±ha. Atha na½ m±t± “tva½ t±ta, ekaputtako, imasmi½ ghare dhanampi bahu, samuddo anek±d²navo, m± gam²”ti niv±resi. Tattha phalikavim±ne catasso vem±nikapetiyo addasa. T± satt±ha½ dukkha½ anubhavanti, satt±ha½ sukha½ So t±hi saddhi½ satt±ha½ dibbasampatti½ anubhavi. Atha na½ t± dukkh±nubhavanatth±ya gaccham±n± “s±mi, maya½ sattame divase ±gamiss±ma, y±va maya½ ±gacch±ma, t±va anukkaºµham±no idheva vas±”ti vatv± agama½su. So taºh±vasiko hutv± tasmi½yeva phalake nipajjitv± puna samuddapiµµhena gacchanto apara½ d²paka½ patv± tattha rajatavim±ne aµµha vem±nikapetiyo disv± eteneva up±yena aparasmi½ d²pake maºivim±ne so¼asa, aparasmi½ d²pake kanakavim±ne dvatti½sa vem±nikapetiyo disv± t±hi saddhi½ dibbasampatti½ anubhavitv± t±sampi dukkha½ anubhavitu½ gatak±le puna samuddapiµµhena gacchanto eka½ p±k±raparikkhitta½ catudv±ra½ nagara½ addasa. Ussadanirayo kiresa, bah³na½ nerayikasatt±na½ kammakaraº±nubhavanaµµh±na½ mittavindakassa alaªkatapaµiyattanagara½ viya hutv± upaµµh±si. So “ima½ nagara½ pavisitv± r±j± bhaviss±m²”ti cintetv± khuracakka½ ukkhipitv± s²se paccam±na½ nerayikasatta½ addasa. Athassa ta½ tassa s²se khuracakka½ paduma½ viya hutv± upaµµh±si. Tasmi½ khaºe mittavindako tassa khuracakkabh±va½ ñatv± “tava khuracakka½ gaºha, tava khuracakka½ gaºh±”ti vedan±ppatto paridevi, itaro antaradh±yi. Tad± bodhisatto rukkhadevat± hutv± mahantena pariv±rena ussadac±rika½ caram±no ta½ µh±na½ p±puºi. Mittavindako ta½ oloketv± “s±mi devar±ja, ida½ ma½ cakka½ saºhakaraºiya½ viya til±ni pisam±na½ otarati, ki½ nu kho may± p±pa½ pakatan”ti pucchanto dve g±th± abh±si–

oruddhapaµiruddhosmi, ki½ p±pa½ pakata½ may±.
2. “Sabbe apihit± dv±r±, oruddhosmi yath± dijo;
kim±dhikaraºa½ yakkha, cakk±bhinihato ahan”ti.
Tattha da¼hap±k±ranti thirap±k±ra½. “Da¼hatoraºan”tipi p±µho, thiradv±ranti attho. Oruddhapaµiruddhosm²ti anto katv± samant± p±k±rena ruddho, pal±yanaµµh±na½ na paññ±yati. Ki½ p±pa½ pakatanti ki½ nu kho may± p±pakamma½ kata½. Apihit±ti thakit±. Yath± dijoti pañjare pakkhitto sakuºo viya. Kim±dhikaraºanti ki½ k±raºa½. Cakk±bhinihatoti cakkena abhinihato. icch±hatassa posassa, cakka½ bhamati matthake.
6. “Uparivis±l± dupp³r±, icch± visaµag±min²;
ye ca ta½ anugijjhanti, te honti cakkadh±rino.
7. “Bahubhaº¹a½ avah±ya, magga½ appaµivekkhiya;
yesañceta½ asaªkh±ta½, te honti cakkadh±rino.
8. “Kamma½ samekkhe vipulañca bhoga½, iccha½ na seveyya anatthasa½hita½;
kareyya v±kya½ anukampak±na½, ta½ t±disa½ n±tivatteyya cakkan”ti.

N±kar²ti tena dhanena asantuµµho n±v±ya samudda½ pavisanto samudde ±d²navañca kathetv± m±tuy± v±riyam±nopi anukampak±na½ ñ±t²na½ vacana½ na karosi, sot±panna½ m±tara½ paharitv± antara½ katv± nikkhantoyev±s²ti d²peti. N±tivatteyy±ti ta½ t±disa½ puggala½ ida½ cakka½ na ativatteyya n±vatthareyya. “N±tivattet²”tipi p±µho, n±vattharat²ti attho. kati vassasahass±ni, ta½ me akkh±hi pucchito”ti.

Tattha atisaroti atisar²tipi atisaro, atisarissat²tipi atisaro. Paccasaroti tasseva vevacana½. Ida½ vutta½ hoti– samma mittavindaka, suºohi me vacana½, tvañhi atid±ruºassa kammassa katatt± atisaro, tassa pana na sakk± vassagaºan±ya vip±ko paññ±petunti aparim±ºa½ atimahanta½ vip±kadukkha½ sarissasi paµipajjissas²ti atisaro. Tena te “ettak±ni vassasahass±n²”ti vattu½ na sakkomi. Sirasim±viddhanti ya½ pana te ida½ cakka½ sirasmi½ ±viddha½ kumbhak±racakkamiva bhamati. Na ta½ j²va½ pamokkhas²ti ta½ tva½ y±va te kammavip±ko na kh²yati, t±va j²vam±no na pamokkhasi, kammavip±ke pana kh²ºe ida½ cakka½ pah±ya yath±kamma½ gamissas²ti. Ida½ vatv± devaputto attano devaµµh±nameva gato, itaropi mah±dukkha½ paµipajji. Satth± ima½ dhammadesana½ ±haritv± j±taka½ samodh±nesi– “tad± mittavindako aya½ dubbacabhikkhu ahosi, devar±j± pana ahameva ahosin”ti.
