Atha yad± amh±ka½ bhagav± abhisambuddho hutv± anukkamena r±jagaha½ upagato, tato paµµh±ya buddh±nubh±vena tassa s± vijj± na sampajjati, attano kicca½ na s±dheti. So cintesi– “suta½ kho pana meta½ ±cariyap±cariy±na½ bh±sam±n±na½ ‘yattha mah±gandh±ravijj± dharati, tattha c³¼agandh±ravijj± na sampajjat²’ti, samaºassa pana gotamassa ±gatak±lato paµµh±ya n±ya½ mama vijj± sampajjati, nissa½saya½ samaºo gotamo mah±gandh±ravijja½ j±n±ti, ya½n³n±ha½ ta½ payirup±sitv± tassa santike ta½ vijja½ pariy±puºeyyan”ti. So bhagavanta½ upasaªkamitv± etadavoca– “aha½, mah±samaºa, tava santike eka½ vijja½ pariy±puºituk±mo, ok±sa½ me karoh²”ti. Bhagav± “tena hi pabbaj±”ti ±ha. So “vijj±ya parikamma½ pabbajj±”ti maññam±no pabbaji. Tassa bhagav± dhamma½ kathetv± carit±nuk³la½ kammaµµh±na½ ad±si. So upanissayasampannat±ya nacirasseva vipassana½ va¹¹hetv± arahatta½ p±puºi. Y± pana purimaj±tiya½ tassov±de µhatv± sagge nibbatt± devat±, ta½ kataññuta½ niss±ya sañj±tabahum±n± s±ya½ p±ta½ thera½ payirup±sitv± gacchanti. Tasm± thero devat±na½ piyaman±pat±ya aggata½ patto. “Nibbute lokan±thamhi, sumedhe aggapuggale;
pasannacitto sumano, th³pap³ja½ ak±saha½.
“Ye ca kh²º±sav± tattha, cha¼abhiññ± mahiddhik±;
teha½ tattha sam±netv±, saªghabhatta½ ak±saha½.
“Sumedhassa bhagavato, upaµµh±ko tad± ahu;
sumedho n±ma n±mena, anumodittha so tad±.
“Tena cittappas±dena, vim±na½ upapajjaha½;
cha¼±s²tisahass±ni, acchar±yo rami½su me.
“Mameva anuvattanti, sabbak±mehi t± sad±;
aññe deve abhibhomi, puññakammassida½ phala½.
“Pañcav²samhi kappamhi, varuºo n±ma khattiyo;
visuddhabhojano ±si½, cakkavatt² aha½ tad±.
“Na te b²ja½ pavappanti, napi n²yanti naªgal±;
akaµµhap±kima½ s±li½, paribhuñjanti m±nus±.
“Tattha rajja½ karitv±na, devatta½ puna gacchaha½;
tad±pi edis± mayha½, nibbatt± bhogasampad±.
“Na ma½ mitt± amitt± v±, hi½santi sabbap±ºino;
sabbesampi piyo homi, puññakammassida½ phala½.
“Ti½sakappasahassamhi ya½ d±namadadi½ tad±;
duggati½ n±bhij±n±mi, gandh±lepassida½ phala½.
“Imasmi½ bhaddake kappe, eko ±si½ jan±dhipo;
mah±nubh±vo r±j±ha½, cakkavatt² mahabbalo.
“Soha½ pañcasu s²lesu, µhapetv± janata½ bahu½;
p±petv± sugati½yeva, devat±na½ piyo ahu½.
“Kiles± jh±pit± mayha½…pe… kata½ buddhassa s±sanan”ti;
tath± devat±hi ativiya piy±yitabbabh±vato ima½ thera½ bhagav± devat±na½ piyaman±pabh±vena aggaµµh±ne µhapesi– “etadagga½, bhikkhave, mama s±vak±na½ bhikkh³na½ devat±na½ piyaman±p±na½ yadida½ pilindavaccho”ti (a. ni. 1.209, 215) so ekadivasa½ bhikkhusaªghamajjhe nisinno attano guºe paccavekkhitv± tesa½ k±raºabh³ta½ vijj±nimitta½ bhagavato santike ±gamana½ pasa½santo “sv±gata½ n±pagatan”ti g±tha½ abh±si; 9. tattha sv±gatanti sundara½ ±gamana½, ida½ mam±ti sambandho; atha v± sv±gatanti suµµhu ±gata½, may±ti vibhatti vipariº±metabb±; n±pagatanti na apagata½ hit±bhivuddhito na apeta½; nayida½ dumantita½ mam±ti ida½ mama duµµhu kathita½, duµµhu v± v²ma½sita½ na hoti; ida½ vutta½ hoti– ya½ bhagavato santike mam±gamana½, ya½ v± may± tattha ±gata½, ta½ sv±gata½, sv±gatatt±yeva na dur±gata½; ya½ “bhagavato santike dhamma½ sutv± pabbajiss±m²”ti mama mantita½ gadita½ kathita½, cittena v± v²ma½sita½ idampi na dummantinti; id±ni tattha k±raºa½ dassento “sa½vibhattes³”ti-±dim±ha; sa½vibhattes³ti pak±rato vibhattesu; dhammes³ti ñeyyadhammesu samathadhammesu v±, n±n±titthiyehi pakati-±divasena, samm±sambuddhehi dukkh±divasena sa½vibhajitv± vuttadhammesu; ya½ seµµha½ tadup±gaminti ya½ tattha seµµha½, ta½ catusaccadhamma½, tassa v± bodhaka½ s±sanadhamma½ up±gami½, “aya½ dhammo aya½ vinayo”ti upagacchi½; samm±sambuddhehi eva v± kusal±divasena khandh±divasena yath±sabh±vato sa½vibhattesu sabh±vadhammesu ya½ tattha seµµha½ uttama½ pavara½, ta½ maggaphalanibb±nadhamma½ up±gami½, attapaccakkhato upagacchi½ sacch±k±si½, tasm± sv±gata½ mama na apagata½ sumantita½ na dummantitanti yojan±;
