11. Kuhakabr±hmaºavatthu

Ki½ teti ima½ dhammadesana½ satth± k³µ±g±ras±l±ya½ viharanto eka½ vaggulivata½ kuhakabr±hmaºa½ ±rabbha kathesi.
So kira ves±linagaradv±re eka½ kakudharukkha½ ±ruyha dv²hi p±dehi rukkhas±kha½ gaºhitv± adhosiro olambanto “kapil±na½ me sata½ detha, kah±paºe detha, paric±rika½ detha, no ce dassatha, ito patitv± maranto nagara½ anagara½ kariss±m²”ti vadati. Tath±gatassa bhikkhusaªghaparivutassa nagara½ pavisanak±le bhikkh³ ta½ br±hmaºa½ disv± nikkhamanak±lepi na½ tatheva olambanta½ passi½su. N±gar±pi “aya½ p±tova paµµh±ya eva½ olambanto patitv± maranto nagara½ anagara½ kareyy±”ti cintetv± nagaravin±sabh²t± “ya½ so y±cati, sabba½ dem±”ti paµissuºitv± ada½su. So otaritv± sabba½ gahetv± agam±si. Bhikkh³ vih±r³pac±re ta½ g±vi½ viya viravitv± gacchanta½ disv± sañj±nitv± “laddha½ te br±hmaºa, yath±patthitan”ti pucchitv± “±ma, laddha½ me”ti sutv± antovih±ra½ gantv± tath±gatassa tamattha½ ±rocesu½. Satth± “na, bhikkhave, id±neva so kuhakacoro, pubbepi kuhakacoroyeva ahosi. Id±ni panesa b±lajana½ vañceti, tad± pana paº¹ite vañcetu½ n±sakkh²”ti vatv± tehi y±cito at²tam±hari.
At²te eka½ k±sikag±ma½ niss±ya eko kuhakat±paso v±sa½ kappesi. Ta½ eka½ kula½ paµijaggi. Div± uppannakh±dan²yabhojan²yato attano putt±na½ viya tassapi eka½ koµµh±sa½ deti, s±ya½ uppannakoµµh±sa½ µhapetv± dutiyadivase deti. Athekadivasa½ s±ya½ godhama½sa½ labhitv± s±dhuka½ pacitv± tato koµµh±sa½ µhapetv± dutiyadivase tassa ada½su. T±paso ma½sa½ kh±ditv±va rasataºh±ya baddho “ki½ ma½sa½ n±metan”ti pucchitv± “godhama½san”ti sutv± bhikkh±ya caritv± sappidadhikaµukabhaº¹±d²ni gahetv± paººas±la½ gantv± ekamanta½ µhapesi. Paººas±l±ya pana avid³re ekasmi½ vammike godhar±j± viharati. So k±lena k±la½ t±pasa½ vanditu½ ±gacchati. Ta½divasa½ panesa “ta½ vadhiss±m²”ti daº¹a½ paµicch±detv± tassa vammikassa avid³re µh±ne nidd±yanto viya nis²di. Godhar±j± vammikato nikkhamitv± tassa santika½ ±gacchantova ±k±ra½ sallakkhetv± “na me ajja ±cariyassa ±k±ro ruccat²”ti tatova nivatti. T±paso tassa nivattanabh±va½ ñatv± tassa m±raºatth±ya daº¹a½ khipi, daº¹o virajjhitv± gato. Godhar±j±pi dhammika½ pavisitv± tato s²sa½ n²haritv± ±gatamagga½ olokento t±pasa½ ±ha–
“Samaºa½ ta½ maññam±no, upagacchimasaññata½;
so ma½ daº¹ena p±h±si, yath± asamaºo tath±.
“Ki½ te jaµ±hi dummedha, ki½ te ajinas±µiy±;
abbhantara½ te gahana½, b±hira½ parimajjas²”ti. (J±. 1.4.97-98).
Atha na½ t±paso attano santakena palobhetu½ evam±ha–
“Ehi godha nivattassu, bhuñja s±l²namodana½;
tela½ loºañca me atthi, pah³ta½ mayha pipphal²”ti. (J±. 1.4.99).
Ta½ sutv± godhar±j± “yath± yath± tva½ kathesi, tath± tath± me pal±yituk±mat±va hot²”ti vatv± ima½ g±tham±ha–
“Esa bhiyyo pavekkh±mi, vammika½ sataporisa½;
tela½ loºañca kittesi, ahita½ mayha pipphal²”ti. (J±. 1.4.100).
Evañca pana vatv± “aha½ ettaka½ k±la½ tayi samaºasañña½ ak±si½, id±ni pana te ma½ paharituk±mat±ya daº¹o khitto, tassa khittak±leyeva asamaºo j±to. Ki½ t±disassa duppaññassa puggalassa jaµ±hi, ki½ sakhurena ajinacammena. Abbhantarañhi te gahana½, kevala½ b±hirameva parimajjas²”ti ±ha. Satth± ima½ at²ta½ ±haritv± “tad± esa kuhako t±paso ahosi, godhar±j± pana ahamev±”ti vatv± j±taka½ samodh±netv± tad± godhapaº¹itena tassa niggahitak±raºa½ dassento ima½ g±tham±ha–
394. “Ki½ te jaµ±hi dummedha, ki½ te ajinas±µiy±;
abbhantara½ te gahana½, b±hira½ parimajjas²”ti. (J±. 1.4.98).
Tattha ki½ te jaµ±h²ti ambho duppañña tava baddh±hipi im±hi jaµ±hi sakhur±ya nivatth±yapi im±ya ajinacammas±µik±ya ca kimatthoti. Abbhantaranti abbhantarañhi te r±g±dikilesagahana½, kevala½ hatthilaº¹a½ assalaº¹a½ viya maµµha½ b±hira½ parimajjas²ti attho.
