Bhikkhave, tad± mama puttena katakamma½ pacchato pacchato anubandhi. P±pakammañhi n±meta½ dhura½ vahato balibaddassa pada½ cakka½ viya anugacchat²ti ida½ vatthu½ kathetv± anusandhi½ ghaµetv± patiµµh±pitamattika½ s±sana½ r±jamudd±ya lañchanto viya dhammar±j± ima½ g±tham±ha–

Katha½ panetehi saddhi½ ekavatthuko ek±rammaºo apubba½ acarima½ ekakkhaºe uppajjam±no mano pubbaªgamo n±ma hot²ti? Upp±dapaccayaµµhena. Yath± hi bah³su ekato g±magh±t±d²ni kamm±ni karontesu “ko etesa½ pubbaªgamo”ti vutte yo nesa½ paccayo hoti, ya½ niss±ya te ta½ kamma½ karonti, so datto v± mitto v± tesa½ pubbaªgamoti vuccati, eva½sampadamida½ veditabba½. Iti upp±dapaccayaµµhena mano pubbaªgamo etesanti manopubbaªgam±. Na hi te mane anuppajjante uppajjitu½ sakkonti, mano pana ekaccesu cetasikesu anupajjantesupi uppajjatiyeva. Adhipativasena pana mano seµµho etesanti manoseµµho. Yath± hi cor±d²na½ corajeµµhak±dayo adhipatino seµµh±. Tath± tesampi mano adhipati manova seµµh±. Yath± pana d±ru-±d²hi nipphann±ni t±ni t±ni bhaº¹±ni d±rumay±d²ni n±ma honti, tath± tepi manato nipphannatt± manomay± n±ma.
Paduµµhen±ti ±gantukehi abhijjh±d²hi dosehi paduµµhena. Pakatimano hi bhavaªgacitta½, ta½ apaduµµha½. Yath± hi pasanna½ udaka½ ±gantukehi n²l±d²hi upakkiliµµha½ n²lodak±dibheda½ hoti, na ca nava½ udaka½, n±pi purima½ pasanna-udakameva, tath± tampi ±gantukehi abhijjh±d²hi dosehi paduµµha½ hoti, na ca nava½ citta½, n±pi purima½ bhavaªgacittameva, ten±ha bhagav±– “pabhassaramida½, bhikkhave, citta½, tañca kho ±gantukehi upakkilesehi upakkiliµµhan”ti (a. ni. 1.49). Eva½ manas± ce paduµµhena, bh±sati v± karoti v± so bh±sam±no catubbidha½ vac²duccaritameva bh±sati, karonto tividha½ k±yaduccaritameva karoti, abh±santo akaronto t±ya abhijjh±d²hi paduµµham±nasat±ya tividha½ manoduccarita½ p³reti. Evamassa dasa akusalakammapath± p±rip³ri½ gacchanti.
Tato na½ dukkhamanvet²ti tato tividhaduccaritato ta½ puggala½ dukkha½ anveti, duccarit±nubh±vena cat³su ap±yesu, manussesu v± tamattabh±va½ gacchanta½ k±yavatthukampi itaramp²ti imin± pariy±yena k±yikacetasika½ vip±kadukkha½ anugacchati. Yath± ki½? Cakka½va vahato padanti dhure yuttassa dhura½ vahato balibaddassa pada½ cakka½ viya. Yath± hi so ekampi divasa½ dvepi pañcapi dasapi a¹¹ham±sampi m±sampi vahanto cakka½ nivattetu½ jahitu½ na sakkoti atha khvassa purato abhikkamantassa yuga½ g²va½ b±dhati, pacchato paµikkamantassa cakka½ ³ruma½sa½ paµihanati. Imehi dv²hi ±k±rehi b±dhanta½ cakka½ tassa pad±nupadika½ hoti; tatheva manas± paduµµhena t²ºi duccarit±ni p³retv± µhita½ puggala½ niray±d²su tattha tattha gatagataµµh±ne duccaritam³laka½ k±yikampi cetasikampi dukkhamanubandhat²ti.
G±th±pariyos±ne ti½sasahass± bhikkh³ saha paµisambhid±hi arahatta½ p±puºi½su. Sampattaparibh±yapi desan± s±tthik± saphal± ahos²ti.

Cakkhup±lattheravatthu paµhama½
