29. Atha kho bhagav± ±yasmanta½ ud±yi½ ±mantesi– “kati nu kho, ud±yi, anussatiµµh±n±n²”ti? Eva½ vutte ±yasm± ud±y² tuºh² ahosi. Dutiyampi kho bhagav± ±yasmanta½ ud±yi½ ±mantesi– “kati nu kho, ud±yi, anussatiµµh±n±n²”ti? Dutiyampi kho ±yasm± ud±y² tuºh² ahosi. Tatiyampi kho bhagav± ±yasmanta½ ud±yi½ ±mantesi– “kati nu kho, ud±yi, anussatiµµh±n±n²”ti? Tatiyampi kho ±yasm± ud±y² tuºh² ahosi.
Atha kho ±yasm± ±nando ±yasmanta½ ud±yi½ etadavoca– “satth± ta½, ±vuso ud±yi, ±mantes²”ti. “Suºomaha½ ±vuso ±nanda, bhagavato. Idha bhante, bhikkhu anekavihita½ pubbeniv±sa½ anussarati– seyyathida½ ekampi j±ti½ dvepi j±tiyo…pe…. Iti s±k±ra½ sa-uddesa½ anekavihita½ pubbeniv±sa½ anussarati. Ida½, bhante, anussatiµµh±nan”ti.
Atha kho bhagav± ±yasmanta½ ±nanda½ ±mantesi– “aññ±si½ kho aha½, ±nanda– ‘nev±ya½ ud±y² moghapuriso adhicitta½ anuyutto viharat²’ti. Kati nu kho, ±nanda, anussatiµµh±n±n²”ti?
“Pañca, bhante, anussatiµµh±n±ni. Katam±ni pañca? Idha, bhante, bhikkhu vivicceva k±mehi…pe… tatiya½ jh±na½ upasampajja viharati. Ida½, bhante, anussatiµµh±na½ eva½ bh±vita½ eva½ bahul²kata½ diµµhadhammasukhavih±r±ya sa½vattati.
“Puna capara½, bhante, bhikkhu ±lokasañña½ manasi karoti, div± sañña½ adhiµµh±ti, yath± div± tath± ratti½, yath± ratti½ tath± div±; iti vivaµena cetas± apariyonaddhena sappabh±sa½ citta½ bh±veti. Ida½, bhante, anussatiµµh±na½ eva½ bh±vita½ eva½ bahul²kata½ ñ±ºadassanappaµil±bh±ya sa½vattati.
“Puna capara½, bhante, bhikkhu imameva k±ya½ uddha½ p±datal± adho kesamatthak± tacapariyanta½ p³ra½ n±nappak±rassa asucino paccavekkhati– ‘atthi imasmi½ k±ye kes± lom± nakh± dant± taco ma½sa½ nh±ru [nah±ru (s². p².) d². ni. 2.377; ma. ni. 1.110] aµµhi aµµhimiñja½ vakka½ hadaya½ yakana½ kilomaka½ pihaka½ papph±sa½ anta½ antaguºa½ udariya½ kar²sa½ pitta½ semha½ pubbo lohita½ sedo medo assu vas± khe¼o siªgh±ºik± lasik± muttan’ti. Ida½, bhante anussatiµµh±na½ eva½ bh±vita½ eva½ bahul²kata½ k±mar±gappah±n±ya sa½vattati.
“Puna capara½, bhante, bhikkhu seyyath±pi passeyya sar²ra½ s²vathik±ya cha¹¹ita½ [cha¹¹ita½ (s². sy±. p².)] ek±hamata½ v± dv²hamata½ v± t²hamata½ v± uddhum±taka½ vin²laka½ vipubbakaj±ta½. So imameva k±ya½ eva½ [evanti ida½ satipaµµh±nasutt±d²su natthi] upasa½harati– ‘ayampi kho k±yo eva½dhammo eva½bh±v² eva½anat²to”’ti [eta½ anat²toti (s².)].
“Seyyath±pi v± pana [seyyath± v± pana (sy±.)] passeyya sar²ra½ s²vathik±ya cha¹¹ita½ k±kehi v± khajjam±na½ kulalehi v± khajjam±na½ gijjhehi v± khajjam±na½ sunakhehi v± khajjam±na½ siªg±lehi [sig±lehi (s².)] v± khajjam±na½ vividhehi v± p±ºakaj±tehi khajjam±na½. So imameva k±ya½ eva½ upasa½harati– ‘ayampi kho k±yo eva½dhammo eva½bh±v² eva½anat²to”’ti.
“Seyyath±pi v± pana passeyya sar²ra½ s²vathik±ya cha¹¹ita½ aµµhikasaªkhalika½ sama½salohita½ nh±rusambandha½…pe… aµµhikasaªkhalika½ nimma½salohitamakkhita½ nh±rusambandha½… aµµhikasaªkhalika½ apagatama½salohita½ nh±rusambandha½. So imameva k±ya½ eva½ upasa½harati– ‘ayampi kho k±yo eva½dhammo eva½bh±v² eva½anat²to’ti. Ida½, bhante, anussatiµµh±na½ eva½ bh±vita½ eva½ bahul²kata½ asmim±nasamuggh±t±ya sa½vattati.
“Puna capara½, bhante, bhikkhu sukhassa ca pah±n±…pe… catuttha½ jh±na½ upasampajja viharati. Ida½, bhante, anussatiµµh±na½ eva½ bh±vita½ eva½ bahul²kata½ anekadh±tupaµivedh±ya sa½vattati. Im±ni kho, bhante, pañca anussatiµµh±n±n²”ti.
“S±dhu, s±dhu, ±nanda! Tena hi tva½, ±nanda, idampi chaµµha½ anussatiµµh±na½ dh±rehi. Idh±nanda, bhikkhu satova abhikkamati satova paµikkamati satova tiµµhati satova nis²dati satova seyya½ kappeti satova kamma½ adhiµµh±ti. Ida½, ±nanda, anussatiµµh±na½ eva½ bh±vita½ eva½ bahul²kata½ satisampajaññ±ya sa½vattat²”ti. Navama½.
