Tattha yesa½ yasakulaputt±d²na½ gihibyañjane µhit±na½ arahattappatti½ disv± “gihi assa arah±”ti laddhi, seyyath±pi etarahi uttar±pathak±na½; te sandh±ya pucch± sakav±dissa. Tattha gihiss±ti yo gihisa½yojanasampayuttat±ya gihi, so araha½ ass±ti attho. Parav±d² pana adhipp±ya½ asallakkhetv± gihibyañjanamattameva passanto paµij±n±ti. Id±nissa “gihi n±ma gihisa½yojanena hoti, na byañjanamattena. Yath±ha bhagav±–
‘Alaªkato cepi sama½ careyya,
santo danto niyato brahmac±r²;
sabbesu bh³tesu nidh±ya daº¹a½,

Tattha yesa½ “opap±tiko hoti tatthaparinibb±y²”tivacan±ni (pu. pa. 35-40) ayoniso gahetv± suddh±v±sesu upapattiy± arah±ti laddhi, “yesa½ v± upahaccaparinibb±y²”ti pada½ parivattitv± “upapajjaparinibb±y²”ti pariy±puºant±na½ saha upapattiy± arah± hot²ti laddhi, seyyath±pi etarahi uttar±pathak±na½; te sandh±ya pucch± sakav±dissa, paµiññ± itarassa. Tattha yasm± upapatticitta½ n±ma lokiya½, tena sot±pann±dayopi na honti, pageva arah±. Tasm±ssa ima½ naya½ dassetu½ saha upapattiy± sot±pannoti-±di ±raddha½.
389. S±riputtoti-±di imesu mah±theresu ko ekopi saha upapattiy± arah± n±m±ti codanattha½ vutta½.

Tattha ye dhamm± an±savassa arahato, sabbe te an±sav±ti yesa½ laddhi, seyyath±pi etarahi uttar±pathak±na½; te sandh±ya arahatoti pucch± sakav±dissa, paµiññ± itarassa. Atha na½ an±sav± n±ma magg±dayo, ki½ tassa teyeva uppajjant²ti codanattha½ maggo phalanti-±di ±raddha½. Cakkhu an±savanti puµµho tassa s±savatt± paµikkhipati. Dutiya½ puµµho an±savassetanti paµij±n±ti.
392. C²varapañhe ekova dhammo an±savo s±savo ca hot²ti lakkhaºavirodhabhay± paµikkhipati. Dutiya½ puµµho an±savassa hutv± s±savassa hot²ti paµij±n±ti. Taññeva an±savanti pañh±dvayepi eseva nayo. Sakav±d² pana taññev±ti anuññ±tatt± “maggo an±savo hutv±”ti-±d²hi codeti. Imin± up±yena sabbattha attho veditabboti.

4. Samann±gatakath±vaººan±

393. Id±ni samann±gatakath± n±ma hoti. Tattha dve samann±gam± paccuppannakkhaºe samaªg²bh±vasamann±gamo ca r³p±vacar±d²su aññatarabh³mippattito paµil±bhasamann±gamo ca. So y±va adhigatavises± na parih±yati, t±vadeva labbhati. Yesa½ pana µhapetv± ime dve samann±game añño upapattidhammavasena eko samann±gamo n±ma hot²ti laddhi, seyyath±pi etarahi uttar±pathak±na½, tesa½ pattidhammo n±ma koci natth²ti anubodhanattha½ arah± cat³hi phalehi samann±gatoti pucch± sakav±dissa, patti½ sandh±ya paµiññ± itarassa. Athassa “yadi te arah± cat³hi khandhehi viya cat³hi phalehi samann±gato, eva½ sante ye cat³su phalesu catt±ro phass±dayo, tehi te arahato samann±gatat± p±puº±t²”ti codanattha½ arah± cat³hi phasseh²ti-±di ±raddha½. Ta½ sabba½ parav±din± ekakkhaºe catunna½ phass±d²na½ abh±v± paµikkhitta½. An±g±mipañh±d²supi eseva nayo.
395. Sot±pattiphala½ v²tivattoti na paµhamajjh±na½ viya dutiyajjh±nal±bh²; puna anuppattiy± pana v²tivattoti pucchati. Sot±pattimagganti-±di ya½ v²tivatto, tenassa puna asamann±gama½ dassetu½ ±raddha½.
396. Tehi ca aparih²noti pañhe yasm± yath± paccan²kasamud±c±rena lokiyajjh±nadhamm± parih±yanti, na eva½ lokuttar±. Maggena hi ye kiles± pah²yanti, phalena ca paµippassambhanti, te tath± pah²n±va tath± paµippassaddh±yeva ca honti, tasm± sakav±din± ±mant±ti paµiññ±ta½. Sv±yamattho parato “arahat± catt±ro magg± paµiladdh±”ti-±d²su pak±sitoyeva. Sesa½ utt±natthamev±ti.

5. Upekkh±samann±gatakath±vaººan±

397. Arah± chahi upekkh±h²ti kath±yapi imin±va nayena attho veditabbo. Arah± hi chasu dv±resu upekkh±na½ uppattibhabbat±ya t±hi samann±gatoti vuccati, na ekakkhaºe sabb±sa½ uppattibh±ven±ti.

6. Bodhiy±buddhotikath±vaººan±

398. Id±ni bodhiy± buddhotikath± n±ma hoti. Tattha bodh²ti catumaggañ±ºass±pi sabbaññutaññ±ºass±pi adhivacana½. Tasm± yesa½ yath± od±tena vaººena od±to, s±mena vaººena s±mo, eva½ bodhiy± buddhoti laddhi, seyyath±pi etarahi uttar±pathak±na½yeva; te sandh±ya pucch± ca anuyogo ca sakav±dissa, paµiññ± ca paµikkhepo ca itarassa.
At²t±y±ti pañhe tasmi½ khaºe abh±vato paµikkhipati. Dutiya½ puµµho paµil±bha½ sandh±ya paµij±n±ti. Puna kiccavasena puµµho kicc±bh±vato paµikkhipati. Dutiya½ puµµho ya½ tena t±ya karaº²ya½ kata½, tattha sammoh±bh±va½ paµij±n±ti. Lesok±sa½ pana adatv± dukkha½ parij±n±t²ti-±din± nayena puµµho tassa kiccassa abh±v± paµikkhipati.
An±gatapañhe tasmi½ khaºe maggañ±ºassa abh±v± paµikkhipati. Dutiya½ puµµho “agam± r±jagaha½ buddho”ti (su. ni. 410) an±gat±ya bodhiy± buddhabh±va½ maññam±no paµij±n±ti. Bodhikaraº²ya½ karot²ti puµµho tasmi½ khaºe kicc±bh±vena paµikkhipati. Dutiya½ puµµho yadi na kareyya, buddhoti na vucceyya. Yasm± avassa½ karissati, tasm± karotiyeva n±m±ti paµij±n±ti. Puna lesok±sa½ adatv± puµµho paµikkhipati. Paccuppannapañho saddhi½ sa½sandan±ya utt±natthova.
399. Tisso bodhiyo ekato katv± puµµho sabbaññutaññ±ºa½ sandh±ya t²hipi buddhoti vattabbabh±vato paµij±n±ti. Puna t²hiti puµµho sabb±sa½ ekakkhaºe abh±v± paµikkhipati. Dutiya½ puµµho at²t±n±gatapaccuppannassa sabbaññutaññ±ºassa vasena paµij±n±ti. Puna lesok±sa½ adatv± satata½ samitanti puµµho paµikkhipati.
Na battabba½ bodhiy±ti pucch± parav±dissa, bodhiy± abh±vakkhaºe abuddhabh±v±pattito paµiññ± sakav±dissa. Nanu bodhipaµil±bh±ti pañhe pana yasmi½ sant±ne bodhisaªkh±ta½ maggañ±ºa½ uppanna½, tattha buddhoti sammutisabbh±vato paµiññ± tasseva. Tassa adhipp±ya½ aj±nitv± hañc²ti laddhiµµhapan± parav±dissa. Id±nissa asallakkhaºa½ p±kaµa½ k±tu½ bodhipaµil±bh± buddhoti bodhiy± buddhoti pucch± sakav±dissa. Tassattho– “ki½ te yasm± bodhipaµil±bh± buddho, tasm± bodhiy± buddho”ti. Itaro “bodhipaµil±bho n±ma bodhiy± uppajjitv± niruddh±yapi sant±ne uppannabh±voyeva. Bodhi n±ma maggakkhaºe ñ±ºan”ti ima½ vibh±ga½ asallakkhentova puna paµij±n±ti. Tato sakav±din± bodhipaµil±bh± bodh²ti puµµho vacanok±sa½ alabhanto paµikkhipat²ti.

7. Lakkhaºakath±vaººan±

400. Id±ni lakkhaºakath± n±ma hoti. Tattha “yehi samann±gatassa mah±purisassa dveva gatiyo bhavant²”ti (d². ni. 1.258) ima½ sutta½ ayoniso gahetv± lakkhaºasamann±gato bodhisattova hot²ti yesa½ laddhi, seyyath±pi etarahi uttar±pathak±na½; te sandh±ya pucch± sakav±dissa, paµiññ± itarassa.
Cakkavattisattoti pañhesu yasm± cakkavatt² sattopi ca bodhisattopi, tasm± abodhisatta½ sandh±ya paµikkhipati. Bodhisatta½ sandh±ya paµij±n±ti.
402. Dvatti½sim±n²tisutta½ bodhisattameva sandh±ya vutta½. So hi pacchime bhave buddho hoti, itaresu cakkavatt², tasm± ±bhatampi an±bhatasadisamev±ti.

Lakkhaºakath±vaººan±.

8. Niy±mokkantikath±vaººan±

403. Id±ni niy±mokkantikath± n±ma hoti. Tattha yesa½ ghaµik±rasutte jotip±lassa pabbajja½ sandh±ya “bodhisatto kassapabhagavato p±vacane okkantaniy±mo caritabrahmacariyo”ti laddhi, seyyath±pi etarahi andhak±na½; te sandh±ya bodhisattoti pucch± sakav±dissa, laddhiya½ µhatv± paµiññ± itarassa. Tato yasm± niy±moti v± brahmacariyanti v± ariyamaggassa n±ma½, bodhisatt±nañca µhapetv± p±ram²p³raºa½ aññ± niy±mokkanti n±ma natthi. Yadi bhaveyya, bodhisatto sot±panno s±vako bhaveyya. Na cetameva½. Kevalañhi na½ buddh± attano ñ±ºabale µhatv±– “aya½ buddho bhavissat²”ti by±karonti, tasm± puna bodhisattoti anuyogo sakav±dissa. Pacchimabhava½ sandh±ya paµikkhepo itarassa. Dutiyapañhe jotip±lak±la½ sandh±ya paµiññ± tasseva. S±vako hutv±ti-±d²supi eseva nayo. Anussaviyoti anussavena paµividdhadhammo. Pacchimabhava½ sandh±ya paµikkhipitv± jotip±lak±le anussava½ sandh±ya paµij±n±ti.
404. Añña½ satth±ranti-±¼±rañca r±maputtañca sandh±ya vutta½. ¾yasm± ±nandoti-±di “okkantaniy±m±va s±vak± honti, na itare okkantaniy±m± evar³p± hont²”ti dassetu½ vutta½.
S±vako j±ti½ v²tivattoti y±ya j±tiy± s±vako, ta½ v²tivatto aññasmi½ bhave as±vako hot²ti pucchati. Itaro sot±pann±d²na½ sot±pann±dis±vakabh±vato paµikkhipati. Sesamettha utt±natthamev±ti.

Tattha yesa½ “catutthamaggaµµho puggalo pattidhammavasena t²hi phalehi samann±gato”ti laddhi, seyyath±pi etarahi andhak±na½ te sandh±ya pucch± sakav±dissa, paµiññ± itarassa. Sesamettha heµµh± cat³hi phalehi samann±gatakath±ya½ vuttanayeneva veditabbanti.

10. Sabbasa½yojanappah±nakath±vaººan±

413. Id±ni sa½yojanappah±nakath± n±ma hoti. Tattha yesa½ “nippariy±yeneva sabbasa½yojanappah±na½ arahattan”ti laddhi, seyyath±pi etarahi andhak±na½; te sandh±ya pucch± sakav±dissa, paµiññ± itarassa. Puna sabbe sa½yojan±ti puµµho heµµh± vuttamaggattayena pah²ne sandh±ya paµikkhipati. Dutiya½ puµµho tena maggena appah²nassa abh±v± paµij±n±ti. Sakk±yadiµµhi±d²supi paµhamamaggena pah²nabh±va½ sandh±ya paµikkhipati, catutthamaggena anavasesappah±na½ sandh±ya paµij±n±ti. Eseva nayo sabbatth±ti.
