Pali Font

To view all characters in pali correctly, please download and install the vriromanpali zip file containing all the pali fonts used in the Tipitaka website and the VRI website
The individual font files can be downloaded as well: They are as follows:-
vrirpn__.ttf, vrirpb__.ttf, vrirpi__.ttf; vrirpcb_.ttf, vrirpcn_.ttf and Vromddb0.ttf, Vromddn0.ttf for

but any commercial use must be sanctioned in writing by VRI.
Windows 3.1x/ 95, Windows 98 users, Windows 2000 / Windows XP users
For Windows 3.1x/ 95, Windows 98 users:
1.Open the Windows control panel.Inside the control panel you will see
a fonts folder that lists all the .ttf fonts currently
installed on the system.
2.Select
'install new font' from the File menu to bring up the Add Fonts dialog
box.

You will see three windows labelled List of fonts, Folders and Drives
to help you locate the font you want to install.
4.Select
the directory where you have downloaded the Pali font. The fonts appear
in the list of fonts. Select all.
(ONLY FOR WIN 95 USERS: Make sure that you have Checked the Copy Fonts
To Folder Box)
5.
Click on OK.
For Windows 2000 / Windows XP users:
1. Download the fonts.
a) if you are getting them individually directly
from this page, right-click the link for the font with
your mouse and select "Save Link Target as ..." (If
you just click on the link normally, you'll get a
bunch of rubbish appearing on the page, just click on
the back arrow and try again).
You'll
then be prompted to save it somewhere - put
them in C:\WINNT\Fonts.
b) if you download the zip file, you need to
extract the fonts.
If
you have Windows XP, it comes with its own
extracting tool. Just right-click on the zip file
(meaning, with the mouse button on the right side) and
select "Extract All...". You'll be presented with the
"Extraction Wizard". Click next, and you'll see a box
labeled "Files will be extracted to this directory:".
Erase what is in the box and type in
"C:\WINDOWS\Fonts". Click on next, and they are
extracted.
If
you don't have an unzip tool (Windows 2000), you
can download a free version from:
http://www.info-zip.org/pub/infozip/WiZ.html
You'll
need to follow the instructions to install it,
works fine. Now, all you have to do is extract the
font files into C:\WINNT\Fonts - with WiZ, start wiz
and open the (existing) font archive, then highlight
all the files, then click on "Extract selected archive
entries" and save them to C:\WINNT\Fonts.
2. Once copied into the Fonts directory, they are
ready to use and will be picked up by your browser
automatically (you may need to close down the browser
and restart it if it's already running).
