P±dakajjh±nasammasitajjh±napuggalajjh±sayesupi, hi aññataravasena ta½ta½jh±nasadisatt± vitakk±di-aªgap±tubh±vena catt±ropi magg± paµhamajjh±n±divoh±ra½ labhant± pacceka½ pañcadh± vibhajanti. Ten±ha “jh±naªgayogabheden±”ty±di, tattha paµhamajjh±n±d²su ya½ ya½ jh±na½ sam±pajjitv± tato tato vuµµh±ya saªkh±re sammasantassa vuµµh±nag±minivipassan± pavatt±, ta½ p±dakajjh±na½ vuµµh±nag±minivipassan±ya padaµµh±nabh±vato. Ya½ ya½ jh±na½ sammasantassa s± pavatt±, ta½ sammasitajjh±na½. “Aho vata me paµhamajjh±nasadiso maggo pañcaªgiko, dutiyajjh±n±d²su v± aññatarasadiso caturaªg±dibhedo maggo bhaveyy±”ti eva½ yog±vacarassa uppannajjh±sayo puggalajjh±sayo n±ma. Tattha yena paµhamajjh±n±d²su aññatara½ jh±na½ sam±pajjitv± tato vuµµh±ya pakiººakasaªkh±re sammasitv± maggo upp±dito hoti, tassa so maggo paµhamajjh±n±d²su ta½ta½p±dakajjh±nasadiso hoti. Sace pana vipassan±p±daka½ kiñci jh±na½ natthi, kevala½ paµhamajjh±n±d²su aññatara½ jh±na½ sammasitv± maggo upp±dito hoti, tassa so sammasitajjh±nasadiso hoti. Yad± pana ya½ kiñci jh±na½ sam±pajjitv± tato vuµµh±ya aññatara½ sammasitv± maggo upp±dito hoti, tad± puggalajjh±sayavasena dv²su aññatarasadiso hoti. Sace pana puggalassa tath±vidho ajjh±sayo natthi, heµµhimaheµµhimajjh±nato vuµµh±ya upar³parijh±nadhamme sammasitv± upp±ditamaggo p±dakajjh±na½ anapekkhitv± sammasitajjh±nasadiso hoti. Upar³parijh±nato pana vuµµh±ya heµµhimaheµµhimajjh±nadhamme sammasitv± upp±ditamaggo sammasitajjh±na½ anapekkhitv± p±dakajjh±nasadiso hoti. Heµµhimaheµµhimajjh±nato hi upar³parijh±na½ balavataranti. Vedan±niyamo pana sabbatth±pi vuµµh±nag±minivipassan±niyamena hoti. Tath± sukkhavipassakassa sakalajjh±naªganiyamo. Tassa hi p±dakajjh±n±d²na½ abh±vena tesa½ vasena niyam±bh±vato vipassan±niyamena pañcaªgikova maggo hot²ti. Apica sam±pattil±bhinopi jh±na½ p±daka½ akatv± pakiººakasaªkh±re sammasitv± upp±ditamaggopi vipassan±niyameneva pañcaªgikova hot²ti ayamettha aµµhakath±dito uddhaµo vinicchayas±ro. Therav±dadassan±divasappavatto pana papañco aµµhakath±d²su vuttanayena veditabbo. Yath± cettha, eva½ sabbatth±pi vitth±ranayo tattha tattha vuttanayena gahetabbo. Ganthabh²rukajan±nuggahattha½ panettha saªkhepakath± adhippet±. 42. Yath± r³p±vacara½ citta½ paµham±dipañcavidhajh±nabhedena gayhati “paµhamajjh±nan”ty±din± vuccati tath± anuttarampi citta½ “paµhamajjh±nasot±pattimaggacittan”ty±din± gayhati. ¾ruppañc±pi upekkhekaggat±yogena aªgasamat±ya pañcamajjh±ne gayhati, pañcamajjh±navoh±ra½ labhat²tyattho. Atha v± r³p±vacara½ citta½ anuttarañca paµham±dijh±nabhede “paµhamajjh±nakusalacitta½, paµhamajjh±nasot±pattimaggacittanty±din± yath± gayhati, tath± ±ruppañc±pi pañcame jh±ne gayhat²ti yojan±. ¾cariyass±pi hi ayameva yojan± adhippet±ti dissati n±mar³paparicchede ujukameva tath± vuttatt±. Vuttañhi tattha–
“R³p±vacaracitt±ni, gayhant±nuttar±ni ca;
paµham±dijh±nabhede, ±ruppañc±pi pañcame”ti. (N±ma. pari. 24).
Tasm±ti yasm± r³p±vacara½ viya anuttarampi paµham±dijh±nabhede gayhati, ±ruppañc±pi pañcame gayhati, yasm± v± jh±naªgayogabhedena ekeka½ pañcadh± katv± anuttara½ citta½ catt±l²savidhanti vuccati, r³p±vacaralokuttar±ni viya ca paµham±dijh±nabhede, tath± ±ruppañc±pi pañcame gayhati, tasm± paµham±dikamekeka½ jh±na½ lokiya½ tividha½, lokuttara½ aµµhavidhanti ek±dasavidha½. Ante tu jh±na½ tev²satividha½ tividhar³p±vacaradv±dasavidha-ar³p±vacara-aµµhalokuttaravasen±tyattho. 43. P±dakajjh±n±divasena gaºanavu¹¹hi kusalavip±kesveva sambhavat²ti tesameva gaºana½ ekav²sasatagaºan±ya aªgabh±vena dassento ±ha “sattati½s±”ty±di.
