Tassattho– ye te aniddiµµhak±rak± pubbe vuttappabhed± sukkavisaµµhi-±dayo sikkh±padavises±, tesu adhipp±yakammavatthupuggalapayoge apekkh±ya bh±vato k±rako na niddiµµho tesa½ s±pekkhabh±vadassanattha½. Ta½ sabba½ tasmi½ tasmi½ sikkh±pade ±vibhavissati, idha pana p±r±jikapaññattiya½ apekkh±ya abh±vato k±rako niddiµµho. Yo pana k±rako “niµµhitac²varasmi½ bhikkhun± ubbhatasmin”ti-±d²su (p±r±. 462, 472, 475) viya pubbe vattabbavidh±n±bh±vato karaº±divasena aniddisitv± paccattavasena niddiµµho apekkh±ya abh±vato. Tattha niddisiyam±no sesadutiy±niyatapaº²tabhojana½ samaºuddesatatiyacata-utthap±µidesan²yesu viya majjhe aniddisitv± “na heva kho pana…pe… obh±situn”ti-±di (p±r±. 453) viya pubbe vattabbavidh±n±bh±vato eva ±dimhi niddiµµho. ¾dimhi niddisiyam±nopi pubbe vuttappabhedesu bhed±nuvattak±d²su pañcatti½sesu sikkh±padesu viya aniddisitv± pubbe vattabbavidh±n±bh±vato eva “yo pana bhikkh³”ti-±ditova yopana-saddena saha niddiµµho. Eva½ niddisiyam±nopi so yasm± “y± pana bhikkhuniyo dve ekamañce tuvaµµeyyun”ti-±di (p±ci. 933) ±patti viya parappabhava½ ±patti½ na ±pajjati, tasm± “yo pana bhikkh³”ti ekavacanena niddiµµho. Methunadhamm±pattipi parappabhav± “dvaya½dvayasam±patt²”ti (p±r±. 39) vacanatoti ce? Ta½ na, adhipp±yaj±nanato. Anekiss± eva bhikkhuniy± ±patti, na ekiss±ti niyamo tattha atthi, na eva½ idha niyamoti aniyamit±dhipp±yo. Lamb²mudupiµµh²na½ kuto “dvaya½dvayasam±patt²”ti (p±r±. 55) vacanato tesa½ methunadhamm±patti. Ayamattho catasso methunadhammapaccay±ti aµµhavatthuka½ sandh±ya “chejja½ siy± methunadhammapaccay±”ti (pari. 481) ca pariv±re vuttavacanena s±dhetabbo.

Bhed±nuvattakasikkh±pade tiººa½ uddha½ na samanubh±sitabb±, na saªghena saªgha½ ekato k±tabbanti. Nayadassanattha½ ±ditova “bhikkh³ hont²”ti bahuvacananiddesa½ katv± puna “eko v± dve v± tayo v±”ti (p±r±. 418) vutta½, aññath± na tato uddha½ “anuvattak± hont²”ti ±pajjati. Tato nid±navirodho. Pañcasatamatt± hi tadanuvattak± ahesu½. Ya½ pana sattasatikakkhandhake “saªgho catt±ro p±c²nake bhikkh³, catt±ro p±veyyake bhikkh³ sammanneyya …pe… sammat±”ti-±di (c³¼ava. 456) ñattidutiyakamma½ vutta½, ta½ “ubb±hik±ya ima½ adhikaraºa½ v³pasametun”ti vuttatt± tehi kattabbavidh±na½. Sammutikaraºameva v± tatiya½ katv± kappati. Na hi te tena kammena kamm±rah± kammakat± honti. Yassa saªgho kamma½ karoti, so kamm±rahoti lakkhaºa½. Na ca tad± saªgho tesa½ aµµhannampi bhikkh³na½ kamma½ ak±si. Bhaj±piyam±n± te kammapattabh±va½ bhajanti. Adhikaraºav³pasamakammassa patt± yutt± saªghena kat±ti katv± kammapatt± eva hi te honti. “Te bhikkh³ bhikkh³hi y±vatatiya½ samanubh±sitabb± tassa paµinissagg±y±”ti (p±r±. 418) vacanato tehi kattabbavidh±na½. Sammutikaraºameva kamma½ hot²ti ce? Ta½ na, adhipp±yaj±nanato, tassa paµinissagg±ya eva te bhikkh³ kamm±rah± k±tabb±, na dos±gativasen±ti ayamettha adhipp±yo. Na hi p±c²nak±d²na½ sammutiy± adhikaraºav³pasamasiddhi viya tesa½ samanubh±sanakammena tassa paµinissaggasiddhi hoti, sammuti n±mes± paµhama½ anumati½ gahetv± y±citv±va kar²yati, na tath± kammanti. Kammakaraºe pana tadatthasiddhi hotiyeva. Parasammutiy± bahutar±va sammannitabb±ti veditabba½.
“Methunadhamman”ti eva½ b±hullanayena laddhan±maka½ sakapayogena v± parapayogena v± attano nimittassa sakamagge v± paramagge v± paranimittassa v± sakamagge eva pavesanapaviµµhaµµhita-uddharaºesu ya½ kiñci eka½ paµis±diyanavasena seveyya, p±r±jiko hoti asa½v±soti. Keci pana “pavesan±d²ni catt±ri v± t²ºi v± dve v± eka½ v± paµiseveyya, p±r±jiko hoti. Vuttañheta½ ‘so ce pavesana½ s±diyati, paviµµha½ s±diyati, µhita½ s±diyati, uddharaºa½ s±diyati, ±patti p±r±jikass±’ti-±d²”ti (p±r±. 58) vadanti. Tesa½ matena cat³supi catasso p±r±jik±pattiyo ±pajjati. Teyeva eva½ vadanti– ±pajjatu methunadhammap±r±jik±patti, methunadhammap±r±jik±pattiy± ta½bh±giy±ti attano v²tikkame p±r±jik±pattiyo, saªgh±dises±pattiñca ±pajjitv± sikkha½ paccakkh±ya gahaµµhak±le methun±dika½ p±r±jika½ ±pajjitv± puna pabbajitv± upasampajjitv± eka½ saªgh±dises±patti½ ekamaneka½ v± paµikaritv±va so puggalo yasm± nir±pattiko hoti, tasm± so gahaµµhak±le s±pattikov±ti. Antimavatthu-ajjh±pannass±pi attheva ±patti. Vuµµh±nadesan±hi pana asujjhanato “payoge payoge ±patti p±r±jikass±”ti na vutta½. Gaºanapayojan±bh±vato kiñc±pi na vutta½, atha kho padabh±jane (p±r±. 58) “±patti p±r±jikass±”ti vacanen±yamattho siddhoti yuttiñca vadanti.
Yadi eva½ m±tik±yampi “yo pana bhikkhu methuna½ dhamma½ paµiseveyya, p±r±jikan”ti vattabba½ bhaveyya, p±r±jikassa anavasesavacanampi na yujjeyya. Sabbepi hi ±pattikkhandhe, bhikkhugaºanañca anavasesetv± tiµµhat²ti anavasesavacananti katv± paveseva ±patti, na paviµµh±d²su. Tameveka½ sandh±ya “yassa siy± ±patt²”ti (mah±va. 134) p±r±jik±pattimpi anto katv± nid±nuddesavacana½ veditabba½. Tasm± m±tik±ya½ “p±r±jikan”ti avatv± “p±r±jiko hot²”ti (p±r±. 42, 44) puggalaniddesavacana½ tena sar²rabandhanena upasampad±ya abhabbabh±vad²panattha½. “¾patti p±r±jikass±”ti padabh±jane vacana½ antimavatthu½ ajjh±pannass±pi p±r±jikassa asa½v±sassa sato puggalassa atheyyasa½v±sakabh±vad²panattha½. Na hi so sa½v±sa½ s±diyantopi theyyasa½v±sako hoti, tasm± upasampanno “bhikkh³”tveva vuccati. Tenev±ha “asuddho hoti puggalo aññatara½ p±r±jika½ dhamma½ ajjh±panno, tañce suddhadiµµhi sam±no anok±sa½ k±r±petv± akkos±dhipp±yo vadati, ±patti omasav±dena dukkaµass±”ti (p±r±. 389) anupasampannassa tadabh±vato siddho so upasampanno “bhikkh³”tveva vuccat²ti, tena padasodhamma½, sahaseyyañca janeti, bhikkhupesuññ±diñca janet²ti veditabba½ (vajira. µ². p±r±jika 39).

Tato nid±n± “yo pana bhikkhu bhikkh³na½…pe… asa½v±so”ti (p±r±. 44) imiss± m±tik±ya bhedo j±to. Tattha hi “antamaso tiracch±nagat±y±”ti (p±r±. 44) itthiliªgavasena “sacca½, ±vuso, bhagavat± sikkh±pada½ paññatta½, tañca kho itthiy±, no purise, no paº¹ake, no ubhatobyañjanake c±”ti makkaµip±r±jiko viya aññopi lesa½ o¹¹etu½ sakkoti, tasm± t±disassa alesok±sassa dassanattha½ ida½ vuccati, makkaµisaªkh±t± nid±n± “antamaso tiracch±nagat±yap²”ti m±tik±ya vacanabhedo, na itthiy± eva methunasiddhidassanato. Tasm± vibhaªgo tanniy±mako tass± m±tik±ya adhippetatthaniy±mako vibhaªgoti. Vibhaªge hi “tisso itthiyo, tayo ubhatobyañjanak±, tayo paº¹ak±, tayo puris±. Manussitthiy± tayo magge, tiracch±nagatapurisassa dve magge”ti-±din± (p±r±. 56) nayena sabbalesok±sa½ pidahitv± niyamo kato. Etth±ha– yadi eva½ s±dh±raºasikkh±padavasena v± liªgaparivattanavasena v± na kevala½ bhikkh³na½, bhikkhun²nampi “sikkh±s±j²vasam±panno”ti vibhaªge vattabba½ siy±. Tadavacanena hi bhikkhun² purisaliªgap±tubh±vena bhikkhubh±ve µhit± eva½ vadeyya “n±ha½ upasampad±karaºak±le bhikkh³na½ sikkh±s±j²vasam±pann±, tasm± na apaccakkh±tasikkh±pi methunadhammena p±r±jik± hom²”ti. Vuccate– yath± vutta½, tath± na vattabba½ aniµµhappasaªgato. Tath± vutte bhikkhun²nampi sikkh±paccakkh±na½ atth²ti ±pajjati. Tañc±niµµha½. Apic±ya½ bhikkh³na½ sikkh±s±j²vasam±pann±va hot²ti dassanattha½ “anuj±n±mi, bhikkhave, ta½yeva upajjha½ tameva upasampada½ t±ni vass±ni bhikkh³hi saªgamitun”ti-±di (p±r±. 69) vutta½. Tato ±pattiy± bhedoti tato vibhaªgato “akkhayite sar²re p±r±jika½, yebhuyyena khayite thullaccayan”ti-±di (p±r±. 73, pari. 157) ±pattiy± bhedo hoti. An±patti tadaññath±ti tato eva vibhaªgato yena ±k±rena ±patti vutt±, tato aññen±k±rena an±pattibhedova hoti. “S±diyati, ±patti p±r±jikassa, na s±diyati, an±patt²”ti hi vibhaªge asati na paññ±yati. Paµhamapaññatti t±va paµhamabodhi½ atikkamitv± paññattatt±, ±yasmato sudinnassa aµµhavassikak±le paññattatt± ca rattaññumahatta½ pattak±le paññatt±, dutiyapaññatti b±husaccamahatta½ pattak±le. So hi ±yasm± makkaµip±r±jiko yath± m±tug±mappaµisa½yuttesu sikkh±padesu tiracch±nagatitth² na adhippet±, tath± idh±p²ti saññ±ya “sacca½, ±vuso…pe… tañca kho manussitthiy±, no tiracch±nagat±y±”ti (p±r±. 41) ±ha. Tatiyapaññatti l±bhaggamahatta½ pattak±le uppann± “y±vadattha½ bhuñjitv±”ti-±di (p±r±. 43) vacanato, vepullamahattampi ettheva labbhat²ti ima½ paµhamap±r±jikasikkh±pada½ tividhampi vatthu½ up±d±ya catubbidhampi ta½ k±la½ patv± paññattanti veditabba½.

Na hi sabbopi bhikkhun±mako, y± bhagavat± y±ya k±yaci upasampad±ya upasampannabhikkh³na½ heµµhimaparicchedena sikkhitabb± sikkh± vihit± “ettha saha j²vant²”ti yo ca s±j²vo vutto, ta½ ubhaya½ sam±pannova hoti. Kad± pana sam±panno hoti? Y±ya k±yaci upasampad±ya upasampannasamanantarameva tadubhaya½ j±nantopi aj±nantopi tadajjhupagatatt± sam±pannova n±ma hoti. Saha j²vant²ti y±va sikkha½ na paccakkh±ti, p±r±jikabh±va½ v± na p±puº±ti. Ya½ pana vutta½ andhakaµµhakath±ya½ “sikkha½ parip³rento sikkh±sam±panno s±j²va½ av²tikkamanto s±j²vasam±panno”ti, ta½ ukkaµµhaparicchedavasena vutta½. Na hi sikkha½ aparip³rento, k±mavitakk±dibahulo v± ekacca½ s±vasesa½ s±j²va½ v²tikkamanto v± sikkh±s±j²vasam±panno n±ma na hoti.
Ukkaµµhaparicchedena pana catukka½ labbhati– “atthi bhikkhu sikkh±sam±panno s²l±ni paccavekkhanto na s±j²vasam±panno acittaka½ sikkh±pada½ v²tikkamanto, atthi na sikkh±sam±panno k±mavitakk±dibahulo s±j²vasam±panno nir±pattiko, atthi na sikkh±sam±panno na ca s±j²vasam±panno anavasesa½ ±patti½ ±panno, atthi ubhayasam±panno sikkha½ parip³rento s±j²vañca av²tikkamanto”ti. Ayamettha catuttho bhikkhu ukkaµµho idha adhippeto siy±. Na hi bhagav± anukkaµµha½ vattu½ yuttoti ce? Na, “tatra y±ya½ adhis²lasikkh±, aya½ imasmi½ atthe adhippet± sikkh±”ti vacanavirodhato, ukkaµµhaggahaº±dhipp±ye sati “sikkh±ti tisso sikkh±”ti ettakameva vattabbanti adhipp±yo. Sikkhattayasam±panno hi sabbukkaµµho. “Methuna½ dhamma½ paµiseveyy±”ti parato vacana½ apekkhitv± adhis²lasikkh±va vutt±ti ce? Na, tass±pi abhabbatt±. Na hi adhis²lasikkha½ parip³rento, s±j²vañca av²tikkamanto methunadhamma½ paµisevitu½ bhabbo, ta½ sikkha½ aparip³rento, s±j²vañca v²tikkamantoyeva hi paµiseveyy±ti adhipp±y±. Tasm± evamettha attho gahetabbo. Yasm± sikkh±padasaªkh±to s±j²vo adhis²lasikkhameva saªgaºh±ti, na itarasikkh±dvaya½, tasm± “tatra y±ya½ adhis²lasikkh±, aya½ imasmi½ atthe adhippet± sikkh±”ti vutta½.
