Duravagg±ho hi bhagavato adhipp±yo. 284. Gil±nasseva bhagavat± gu¼o anuññ±toti “y±ni kho pana t±ni gil±n±na½bhikkh³na½ paµis±yan²y±n²”ti (p±r±. 622) vacanavasena vutta½, teneva te idha paµiggahaºekukkucc±yi½su. Idha pana “anuj±n±mi, bhikkhave, gil±nassa gu¼odakan”ti vattabbegu¼±dhik±ratt± pubbe anuññ±tañca vatv± agil±nassa gu¼odaka½ anuññ±ta½, tena gil±nenasati paccaye gu¼o paribhuñjitabbo, gu¼odaka½ asati paccayepi vaµµat²ti ima½ visesa½d²peti. Tattha “gu¼odaka½ k±likesu satt±hak±lika½, bhagavat± odiss±nuññ±tatt±satt±h±tikkamena dukkaµan”ti vadanti, ta½ na yutta½, udakasambhinnatt± satt±hak±likabh±va½jahati. “Yath± amb±di udakasambhinna½ y±mak±lika½ j±ta½, tath± satt±hak±lika½ jahitv±tadanantare y±vaj²vike µhitan”ti vadanti, ta½ yutta½, tañca bhagavat± odiss±nuññ±tatt±paccavekkhaº±bh±ve doso natthi. “Gu¼odakan’ti vuttatt± udakagatikan”ti vadanti.Yadi udakamissa½ udakagatika½ hoti, madhupi siy± ta½ tath± anuññ±tatt±.
