Tasmi½ pana asati kaµas±rake v± taµµik±ya v± mattik±ya v± paribhaŗ¹akat±ya bh³miy± yattha na dussati, tath±r³p±ya v±lik±ya v± µhapetu½ vaµµati. Ettha ca na kevala½ yassa patto hatthe, so eva pattahattho. Na kevalańca kav±µameva paŗ±metu½ na labhati, apica kho pana hatthe v± piµµhip±de v± yattha yatthaci sar²r±vayave pattasmi½ sati hatthena v± p±dena v± s²sena v± yena kenaci sar²r±vayavena kav±µa½ v± paŗ±metu½ ghaµika½ v± ukkhipitu½ s³ci½ v± kuńcik±ya av±puritu½ na labhati, a½sak³µe pana patta½ laggetv± yath±sukha½ av±puritu½ labhati.

“Anuj±n±mi bhikkhave, ottharakan”ti (c³¼ava. 259) vacanato ottharaka½ pariss±vanampi vaµµati. Ottharaka½ n±ma ya½ udake ottharitv± ghaµakena udaka½ gaŗhanti, tańhi cat³su daŗ¹akesu vattha½ bandhitv± udake catt±ro kh±ŗuke nikhanitv± tesu bandhitv± sabbapariyante udakato mocetv± majjhe ottharitv± ghaµena udaka½ gaŗhanti.
