Mah±-up±sako bhikkhu½ nimanteti, tassa kula½ upagatassa up±sakopi tassa puttad±rabh±tubhagini-±dayopi attano attano koµµh±sa½ ±haritv± patte pakkhipanti, “up±sakena paµhama½ dinna½ abhuńjitv± pacch± laddha½ bhuńjantassa ±patt²”ti mah±-aµµhakath±ya½ vutta½. Kurundaµµhakath±ya½ “vaµµat²”ti vutta½. Mah±paccariya½ “sace p±µekka½ pacanti, attano attano pakkabhattato ±haritv± denti, tattha pacch± ±haµa½ paµhama½ bhuńjantassa p±cittiya½. Anumodana½ katv± gacchanta½ dhamma½ sotuk±m± “svepi, bhante, ±gaccheyy±th±”ti sabbe nimantenti, punadivase ±gantv± laddha½ laddha½ bhuńjitu½ vaµµati. Kasm±? Sabbehi nimantitatt±. Ekopi bhikkhu piŗ¹±ya caranto bhatta½ labhati, tamańńo up±sako nimantetv± ghare nis²d±peti, na ca t±va bhatta½ sampajjati, sace so bhikkhu piŗ¹±ya caritv± laddhabhatta½ bhuńjati, ±patti. Abhuńjitv± nisinne “ki½, bhante, na bhuńjas²”ti vutte “tay± nimantitatt±”ti vatv± “laddha½ laddha½ bhuńjatha, bhante”ti vutte bhuńjitu½ vaµµati. Sakalena g±mena ekato hutv± nimantitassa yattha katthaci bhuńjato an±patti. Ettha pana mah±padumatthero ±ha “eva½ vadanto imasmi½ sikkh±pade animantana½ k±tu½ sakkoti, bhuńjanatth±ya pana ok±so kato hot²ti neva gaŗabhojanato, na c±rittato muccat²”ti. Mah±sumatthero ±ha “yadaggena animantana½ k±tu½ sakkoti, tadaggena neva gaŗabhojana½, na c±ritta½ hot²”ti.

“Yo pana bhikkhu nimantito sabhatto sam±no santa½ bhikkhu½ an±pucch± purebhatta½ v± pacch±bhatta½ v± kulesu c±ritta½ ±pajjeyya ańńatra samay± p±cittiya½. Tatth±ya½ samayo c²varad±nasamayo c²varak±rasamayo. Aya½ tattha samayo”ti (p±ci. 299)–

Evam±gata½ c±rittasikkh±pada½ vutta½. Imin± hi sikkh±padena yo pańcanna½ bhojan±na½ ańńatarena “bhatta½ gaŗhath±”ti-±din± akappiyanimantanena nimantito, teneva nimantanabhattena sabhatto sam±no santa½ bhikkhu½ “aha½ itthann±massa ghara½ gacch±m²”ti v± “c±ritta½ ±pajj±m²”ti v± ²disena vacanena an±pucchitv± yena bhattena nimantito, ta½ bhutv± v± abhutv± v± av²tivatteyeva majjhanhike yasmi½ kule nimantito, tato ańń±ni kul±ni paviseyya, tassa vuttalakkhaŗa½ duvidhampi samaya½ µhapetv± ańńattha p±cittiya½ vutta½. Tasm± akappiyanimantanena nimantiyam±no sace “bhikkha½ gaŗhiss±m²”ti vadati, imin±pi sikkh±padena an±patti.

3. Santa½ bhikkhu½ an±pucch±ti ettha (p±ci. aµµha. 298) pana kitt±vat± santo hoti, kitt±vat± asanto? Antovih±re yattha µhitassa kul±ni payirup±sanacitta½ uppanna½, tato paµµh±ya ya½ passe v± abhimukhe v± passati, yassa sakk± hoti pakativacanena ±rocetu½, aya½ santo n±ma, ito cito ca pariyesitv± ±rocanakicca½ pana natthi. Yo hi eva½ pariyesitabbo, so asantoyeva. Apica anto-upac±ras²m±ya bhikkhu½ disv± “±pucchiss±m²”ti gacchati. Tattha ya½ passati, so ±pucchitabbo. No ce passati, asanta½ bhikkhu½ an±pucch± paviµµho n±ma hoti. Vik±lag±mappavesanepi ayameva nayo.
Sace (p±ci. aµµha. 512) pana sambahul± kenaci kammena g±ma½ pavisanti, “vik±le g±mappavesana½ ±pucch±m²”ti sabbehi ańńamańńa½ ±pucchitabba½. Tasmi½ g±me ta½ kamma½ na sampajjat²ti ańńa½ g±ma½ gacchanti, g±masatampi hotu, puna ±pucchanakicca½ natthi. Sace pana uss±ha½ paµippassambhetv± vih±ra½ gacchant± antar± ańńa½ g±ma½ pavisituk±m± honti, puna ±pucchitabbameva. Kulaghare v± ±sanas±l±ya v± bhattakicca½ katv± telabhikkh±ya v± sappibhikkh±ya v± carituk±mo hoti, sace passe bhikkhu atthi, ±pucchitv± gantabba½. Asante bhikkhumhi “natth²”ti gantabba½, v²thi½ otaritv± bhikkhu½ passati, ±pucchanakicca½ natthi, an±pucchitv±pi caritabbameva. G±mamajjhena maggo hoti, tena gacchantassa “tel±dibhikkh±ya cariss±m²”ti citte uppanne sace passe bhikkhu atthi, ±pucchitv± caritabba½. Magg± anokkamma bhikkh±ya carantassa pana ±pucchanakicca½ natthi. Sace s²ho v± byaggho v± ±gacchati, megho v± uµµheti, ańńo v± koci upaddavo uppajjati, evar³p±su ±pad±su an±pucch±pi bahig±mato antog±ma½ pavisitu½ vaµµati.
4. “Na ca, bhikkhave, abhinne sar²re pa½suk³la½ gahetabba½, yo gaŗheyya, ±patti dukkaµass±”ti (p±r±. 137) vacanato abbhuŗhe allasar²re pa½suk³la½ na gahetabba½, gaŗhanto dukkaµa½ ±pajjati. Upaddav± ca tassa honti, bhinne pana gahetu½ vaµµati.
Kitt±vat± pana bhinna½ hoti? K±kakulalasoŗasiŖg±l±d²hi mukhatuŗ¹akena v± d±µh±ya v± ²saka½ ph±litamattenapi. Yassa pana patato gha½sanena chavimatta½ chinna½ hoti, camma½ acchinna½, eta½ abhinnameva, camme pana chinne bhinna½. Yassapi saj²vak±leyeva pabhinn± gaŗ¹akuµµhap²¼ak± v± vaŗo v± hoti, idampi bhinna½, tatiyadivasato pabhuti uddhum±tak±dibh±vena kuŗapabh±va½ upagatampi bhinnameva. 5. Acchinnac²varakena bhikkhun± katha½ paµipajjitabbanti? “Anuj±n±mi, bhikkhave, acchinnac²varassa v± naµµhac²varassa v± ańń±taka½ gahapati½ v± gahapat±ni½ v± c²vara½ vińń±petu½. Ya½ ±v±sa½ paµhama½ upagacchati, sace tattha hoti saŖghassa vih±rac²vara½ v± uttarattharaŗa½ v± bh³mattharaŗa½ v± bhisicchavi v±, ta½ gahetv± p±rupitu½ ‘labhitv± odahiss±m²’ti. Tańca kho “labhitv± odahiss±mi, puna µhapess±m²”ti adhipp±yena, na m³lacchejj±ya. Labhitv± ca pana ń±tito v± upaµµh±kato v± ańńato v± kutoci p±katikameva k±tabba½. Videsagatena pana ekasmi½ saŖghike ±v±se saŖghikaparibhogena bhuńjanatth±ya µhapetabba½. Sacassa paribhogeneva ta½ j²rati v± nassati v±, g²v± na hoti. Sace pana etesa½ vuttappak±r±na½ gihivatth±d²na½ bhisicchavipariyant±na½ kińci na labhati, tena tiŗena v± paŗŗena v± paµicch±detv± ±gantabbanti.
