Idha kho ta½, bhikkhave, sobhetha ya½ tumhe eva½ sv±kkh±te dhammavinaye pabbajit± sam±n± aññamañña½ ag±rav± appatiss± asabh±gavuttik± vihareyy±tha? 312. “Dasayime bhikkhave, avandiy±– pure upasampannena pacch± upasampanno avandiyo, anupasampanno avandiyo, n±n±sa½v±sako vu¹¹hataro adhammav±d² avandiyo, m±tug±mo avandiyo, paº¹ako avandiyo, p±riv±siko avandiyo, m³l±yapaµikassan±raho avandiyo, m±natt±raho avandiyo, m±nattac±riko avandiyo, abbh±n±raho avandiyo. Ime kho, bhikkhave, dasa avandiy±.

Tena kho pana samayena manuss± bhattagge antaraghare ucc±sayanamah±sayan±ni paññapenti, seyyathida½– ±sandi½, pallaªka½, gonaka½, cittaka½, paµika½, paµalika½, t³lika½, vikatika½, uddalomi½, ekantalomi½, kaµµissa½, koseyya½ [koseyya½ kambala½ (s². sy±.)], kuttaka½, hatthatthara½, assatthara½, rathatthara½, ajinapaveºi½, kadalimigapavarapaccattharaºa½, sa-uttaracchada½, ubhatolohitak³padh±na½. Bhikkh³ kukkucc±yant± n±bhinis²danti. Bhagavato etamattha½ ±rocesu½. “Anuj±n±mi, bhikkhave, µhapetv± t²ºi– ±sandi½, pallaªka½, t³lika½– gihivikata½ [gihivikaµa½ (s². ka.), avasesa½ gihivikaµa½ (sy±.)] abhinis²ditu½, natveva abhinipajjitun”ti.

Jetavanavih±r±numodan±

315. Atha kho bhagav± anupubbena c±rika½ caram±no yena s±vatthi tadavasari. Tatra suda½ bhagav± s±vatthiya½ viharati jetavane an±thapiº¹ikassa ±r±me. Atha kho an±thapiº¹iko gahapati yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami, upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinno kho an±thapiº¹iko gahapati bhagavanta½ etadavoca– “adhiv±setu me, bhante, bhagav± sv±tan±ya bhatta½ saddhi½ bhikkhusaªghen±”ti. Adhiv±sesi bhagav± tuºh²bh±vena. Atha kho an±thapiº¹iko gahapati bhagavato adhiv±sana½ viditv± uµµh±y±san± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± padakkhiºa½ katv± pakk±mi. Atha kho an±thapiº¹iko gahapati tass± rattiy± accayena paº²ta½ kh±dan²ya½ bhojan²ya½ paµiy±d±petv± bhagavato k±la½ ±roc±pesi– “k±lo, bhante, niµµhita½ bhattan”ti. Atha kho bhagav± pubbaºhasamaya½ niv±setv± pattac²varam±d±ya yena an±thapiº¹ikassa gahapatissa nivesana½ tenupasaªkami, upasaªkamitv± paññatte ±sane nis²di saddhi½ bhikkhusaªghena. Atha kho an±thapiº¹iko gahapati buddhappamukha½ bhikkhusaªgha½ paº²tena kh±dan²yena bhojan²yena sahatth± santappetv± sampav±retv±, bhagavanta½ bhutt±vi½ on²tapattap±ºi½, ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinno kho an±thapiº¹iko gahapati bhagavanta½ etadavoca– “kath±ha½, bhante, jetavane paµipajj±m²”ti? “Tena hi tva½, gahapati, jetavana½ ±gat±n±gatassa c±tuddisassa saªghassa patiµµhapeh²”ti. “Eva½ bhante”ti kho an±thapiº¹iko gahapati bhagavato paµissutv± jetavana½ ±gat±n±gatassa c±tuddisassa saªghassa patiµµh±pesi.
Atha kho bhagav± an±thapiº¹ika½ gahapati½ im±hi g±th±hi anumodi–
“S²ta½ uºha½ paµihanti, tato v±¼amig±ni ca;
sar²sape ca makase, sisire c±pi vuµµhiyo.
“Tato v±t±tapo ghoro, sañj±to paµihaññati;
leºatthañca sukhatthañca, jh±yituñca vipassitu½.
“Vih±rad±na½ saªghassa, agga½ buddhena vaººita½;
tasm± hi paº¹ito poso, sampassa½ atthamattano.
“Vih±re k±raye ramme, v±sayettha bahussute;
tesa½ annañca p±nañca, vatthasen±san±ni ca;
dadeyya ujubh³tesu, vippasannena cetas±.
“Te tassa dhamma½ desenti, sabbadukkh±pan³dana½;
ya½ so dhamma½ idhaññ±ya, parinibb±ti an±savo”ti.

316. Tena kho pana samayena aññatarassa ±j²vakas±vakassa mah±mattassa saªghabhatta½ hoti. ¾yasm± upanando sakyaputto pacch± ±gantv± vippakatabhojana½ ±nantarika½ bhikkhu½ vuµµh±pesi. Bhattagga½ kol±hala½ ahosi. Atha kho so mah±matto ujjh±yati khiyyati vip±ceti– “kathañhi n±ma samaº± sakyaputtiy± pacch± ±gantv± vippakatabhojana½ ±nantarika½ bhikkhu½ vuµµh±pessanti! Bhattagga½ kol±hala½ ahosi. Nanu n±ma labbh± aññatr±pi nisinnena y±vadattha½ bhuñjitun”ti? Assosu½ kho bhikkh³ tassa mah±mattassa ujjh±yantassa khiyyantassa vip±centassa. Ye te bhikkh³ appicch±…pe… te ujjh±yanti khiyyanti vip±centi– “kathañhi n±ma ±yasm± upanando sakyaputto pacch± ±gantv± vippakatabhojana½ ±nantarika½ bhikkhu½ vuµµh±pessati! Bhattagga½ kol±hala½ ahos²”ti. Atha kho te bhikkh³ bhagavato etamattha½ ±rocesu½. “Sacca½ kira tva½, upananda, pacch± ±gantv± vippakatabhojana½ ±nantarika½ bhikkhu½ vuµµh±pesi, bhattagga½ kol±hala½ ahos²”ti? “Sacca½ bhagav±”ti. Vigarahi buddho bhagav±…pe… “kathañhi n±ma tva½, moghapurisa, pacch± ±gantv± vippakatabhojana½ ±nantarika½ bhikkhu½ vuµµh±pessasi? Bhattagga½ kol±hala½ ahosi. Yo vuµµh±peyya, ±patti dukkaµassa. Sace vuµµh±peti, pav±rito ca hoti, ‘gaccha udaka½ ±har±’ti vattabbo. Evañceta½ labhetha, icceta½ kusala½. No ce labhetha, s±dhuka½ sitth±ni gilitv± vu¹¹hatarassa bhikkhuno ±sana½ d±tabba½. Na tvev±ha½, bhikkhave, kenaci pariy±yena vu¹¹hatarassa bhikkhuno ±sana½ paµib±hitabbanti vad±mi. Yo paµib±heyya, ±patti dukkaµass±ti”.
Tena kho pana samayena chabbaggiy± bhikkh³ gil±ne bhikkh³ vuµµh±penti. Gil±n± eva½ vadenti– “na maya½, ±vuso, sakkoma vuµµh±tu½, gil±n±mh±”ti. “Maya½ ±yasmante vuµµh±pess±m±”ti pariggahetv± vuµµh±petv± µhitake muñcanti. Gil±n± mucchit± papatanti. Bhagavato etamattha½ ±rocesu½ “Na, bhikkhave, gil±no vuµµh±petabbo. Yo vuµµh±peyya, ±patti dukkaµass±”ti.
Tena kho pana samayena chabbaggiy± bhikkh³ ‘gil±n± mayamh± avuµµh±pan²y±’ti varaseyy±yo palibuddhenti [palibundhanti (ka.)]. Bhagavato etamattha½ ±rocesu½. “Anuj±n±mi, bhikkhave, gil±nassa patir³pa½ seyya½ d±tun”ti.
Tena kho pana samayena chabbaggiy± bhikkh³ lesakappena sen±sana½ paµib±hanti. Bhagavato etamattha½ ±rocesu½. “Na, bhikkhave, lesakappena sen±sana½ paµib±hitabba½. Yo paµib±heyya, ±patti dukkaµass±”ti.
[P±ci. 122] tena kho pana samayena sattarasavaggiy± bhikkh³ aññatara½ paccantima½ mah±vih±ra½ paµisaªkharonti– ‘idha maya½ vassa½ vasiss±m±’ti. Addasa½su [addas±su½ (ka.)] kho chabbaggiy± bhikkh³ sattarasavaggiye bhikkh³ vih±ra½ [aññatara½ vih±ra½ (ka.)] paµisaªkharonte. Disv±na evam±ha½su– “ime, ±vuso, sattarasavaggiy± bhikkh³ vih±ra½ paµisaªkharonti. Handa ne vuµµh±pess±m±”ti. Ekacce evam±ha½su– “±gameth±vuso, y±va paµisaªkharonti, paµisaªkhate vuµµh±pess±m±”ti. Atha kho chabbaggiy± bhikkh³ sattarasavaggiye bhikkh³ etadavocu½– “uµµheth±vuso, amh±ka½ vih±ro p±puº±t²”ti. “Nanu, ±vuso, paµikacceva ±cikkhitabba½? Mayañcañña½ paµisaªkhareyy±m±”ti. “Nanu, ±vuso, saªghiko vih±ro”ti? “¾m±vuso, saªghiko vih±ro”ti. “Uµµheth±vuso, amh±ka½ vih±ro p±puº±t²”ti. “Mahallako, ±vuso, vih±ro; tumhepi vasatha, mayampi vasiss±m±”ti. “Uµµheth±vuso, amh±ka½ vih±ro p±puº±t²”ti kupit± anattaman± g²v±ya½ gahetv± nikka¹¹hanti. Te nikka¹¹hiyam±n± rodanti. Bhikkh³ evam±ha½su– “kissa tumhe, ±vuso, rodath±”ti? “Ime, ±vuso, chabbaggiy± bhikkh³ kupit± anattaman± amhe saªghik± vih±r± nikka¹¹hant²”ti. Ye te bhikkh³ appicch±…pe… te ujjh±yanti khiyyanti vip±centi– “kathañhi n±ma chabbaggiy± bhikkh³ kupit± anattaman± bhikkh³ saªghik± vih±r± nikka¹¹hissant²”ti! Atha kho te bhikkh³ bhagavato etamattha½ ±rocesu½…pe… “sacca½ kira, tumhe bhikkhave, kupit± anattaman± saªghik± vih±r± bhikkh³ nikka¹¹hath±”ti? “Sacca½ bhagav±”ti…pe… vigarahitv±…pe… dhammi½ katha½ katv± bhikkh³ ±mantesi– “na, bhikkhave, kupitena anattamanena bhikkhu saªghik± vih±r± nikka¹¹hitabbo.
