133. Atha kho bhagavato rahogatassa paµisall²nassa eva½ cetaso parivitakko udap±di– “ya½n³n±ha½ y±ni may± bhikkh³na½ paññatt±ni sikkh±pad±ni, t±ni nesa½ p±timokkhuddesa½ anuj±neyya½. So nesa½ bhavissati uposathakamman”ti. Atha kho bhagav± s±yanhasamaya½ paµisall±n± vuµµhito etasmi½ nid±ne etasmi½ pakaraºe dhammi½ katha½ katv± bhikkh³ ±mantesi– idha mayha½, bhikkhave, rahogatassa paµisall²nassa eva½ cetaso parivitakko udap±di ‘ya½n³n±ha½ y±ni may± bhikkh³na½ paññatt±ni sikkh±pad±ni, t±ni nesa½ p±timokkhuddesa½ anuj±neyya½. 134. “Suº±tu me, bhante, saªgho. Yadi saªghassa pattakalla½, saªgho uposatha½ kareyya, p±timokkha½ uddiseyya. Ki½ saªghassa pubbakicca½? P±risuddhi½ ±yasmanto ±rocetha P±timokkha½ uddisiss±mi. Ta½ sabbeva sant± s±dhuka½ suºoma manasi karoma. Yassa siy± ±patti so ±vikareyya. Asantiy± ±pattiy± tuºh² bhavitabba½. Tuºh²bh±vena kho pan±yasmante parisuddh±ti vediss±mi. Yath± kho pana paccekapuµµhassa veyy±karaºa½ hoti, evameva½ [evameva (ka)] evar³p±ya paris±ya y±vatatiya½ anuss±vita½ hoti. Yo pana bhikkhu y±vatatiya½ anuss±viyam±ne saram±no santi½ ±patti½ n±vikareyya, sampaj±namus±v±dassa hoti. Sampaj±namus±v±do kho pan±yasmanto antar±yiko dhammo vutto bhagavat±. Tasm±, saram±nena bhikkhun± ±pannena visuddh±pekkhena sant² ±patti ±vik±tabb±; ±vikat± hissa ph±su hot²”ti.
135. P±timokkhanti ±dimeta½ mukhameta½ pamukhameta½ kusal±na½ dhamm±na½. Tena vuccati p±timokkhanti. ¾yasmantoti piyavacanameta½ garuvacanameta½ sag±ravasappatiss±dhivacanameta½ ±yasmantoti. Uddisiss±m²ti ±cikkhiss±mi desess±mi paññapess±mi paµµhapess±mi vivariss±mi vibhajiss±mi utt±ni½ kariss±mi [utt±n² kariss±mi (s². sy±.)] pak±sess±mi. Tanti p±timokkha½ vuccati. Sant² n±ma ±patti ajjh±pann± v± hoti, ±pajjitv± v± avuµµhit±. N±vikareyy±ti na deseyya, na vivareyya, na utt±ni½ kareyya, na pak±seyya saªghamajjhe v± gaºamajjhe v± ekapuggale v±. Sampaj±namus±v±dassa hot²ti. Sampaj±namus±v±de ki½ hoti? Dukkaµa½ hoti. Antar±yiko dhammo vutto bhagavat±ti. Kissa antar±yiko? Paµhamassa jh±nassa adhigam±ya ph±su hoti, dutiyassa jh±nassa adhigam±ya ph±su hoti, tatiyassa jh±nassa adhigam±ya ph±su hoti, catutthassa jh±nassa adhigam±ya ph±su hoti, jh±n±na½ vimokkh±na½ sam±dh²na½ sam±patt²na½ nekkhamm±na½ nissaraº±na½ pavivek±na½ kusal±na½ dhamm±na½ adhigam±ya ph±su hot²ti.
136. Tena kho pana samayena bhikkh³– bhagavat± p±timokkhuddeso anuññ±toti– devasika½ p±timokkha½ uddisanti. Bhagavato etamattha½ ±rocesu½. Na, bhikkhave, devasika½ p±timokkha½ uddisitabba½. Yo uddiseyya, ±patti dukkaµassa. Anuj±n±mi, bhikkhave, uposathe p±timokkha½ uddisitunti.
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkh³– bhagavat± uposathe p±timokkhuddeso anuññ±toti– pakkhassa tikkhattu½ p±timokkha½ uddisanti, c±tuddase pannarase aµµhamiy± ca pakkhassa. Bhagavato etamattha½ ±rocesu½. Na, bhikkhave, pakkhassa tikkhattu½ p±timokkha½ uddisitabba½. Yo uddiseyya, ±patti dukkaµassa. Anuj±n±mi, bhikkhave, saki½ pakkhassa c±tuddase v± pannarase v± p±timokkha½ uddisitunti.
Tena kho pana samayena chabbaggiy± bhikkh³ yath±paris±ya p±timokkha½ uddisanti sak±ya sak±ya paris±ya. Bhagavato etamattha½ ±rocesu½. Na, bhikkhave, yath±paris±ya p±timokkha½ uddisitabba½ sak±ya sak±ya paris±ya. Yo uddiseyya, ±patti dukkaµassa. Anuj±n±mi, bhikkhave, samagg±na½ uposathakammanti.
Atha kho bhikkh³na½ etadahosi– “bhagavat± paññatta½ ‘samagg±na½ uposathakamman’ti. Kitt±vat± nu kho s±magg² hoti, y±vat± ek±v±so, ud±hu sabb± pathav²”ti? Bhagavato etamattha½ ±rocesu½. Anuj±n±mi, bhikkhave, ett±vat± s±magg² y±vat± ek±v±soti.
