283. Assosu½ kho manuss± bhagavat± kira y±gu anuññ±t± madhugo¼akañc±ti. Te k±lasseva, bhojjay±gu½ paµiy±denti madhugo¼akañca. Bhikkh³ k±lasseva bhojjay±guy± dh±t± madhugo¼akena ca bhattagge na cittar³pa½ paribhuñjanti. Tena kho pana samayena aññatarena taruºapasannena mah±mattena sv±tan±ya buddhappamukho bhikkhusaªgho nimantito hoti. Atha kho tassa taruºapasannassa mah±mattassa etadahosi– “ya½n³n±ha½ a¹¹hatelasanna½ bhikkhusat±na½ a¹¹hatelas±ni ma½sap±tisat±ni paµiy±deyya½, ekamekassa bhikkhuno ekameka½ ma½sap±ti½ upan±meyyan”ti. Atha kho so taruºapasanno mah±matto tass± rattiy± accayena paº²ta½ kh±dan²ya½ bhojan²ya½ paµiy±d±petv± a¹¹hatelas±ni ca ma½sap±tisat±ni, bhagavato k±la½ ±roc±pesi– “k±lo, bhante, niµµhita½ bhattan”ti. Atha kho bhagav± pubbaºhasamaya½ niv±setv± pattac²varam±d±ya yena tassa taruºapasannassa mah±mattassa nivesana½ tenupasaªkami, upasaªkamitv± paññatte ±sane nis²di, saddhi½ bhikkhusaªghena. Atha kho so taruºapasanno mah±matto bhattagge bhikkh³ parivisati. Bhikkh³ evam±ha½su– “thoka½, ±vuso, dehi; thoka½, ±vuso, deh²”ti. “M± kho tumhe, bhante,– ‘aya½ taruºapasanno mah±matto’ti thoka½ thoka½ paµiggaºhatha. Bahu½ me kh±dan²ya½ bhojan²ya½ paµiyatta½, a¹¹hatelas±ni ca ma½sap±tisat±ni. Ekamekassa bhikkhuno ekameka½ ma½sap±ti½ upan±mess±m²ti. Paµiggaºhatha, bhante, y±vadatthan”ti. “Na kho maya½, ±vuso, eta½k±raº± thoka½ thoka½ paµiggaºh±ma, api ca maya½ k±lasseva bhojjay±guy± dh±t± madhugo¼akena ca. Tena maya½ thoka½ thoka½ paµiggaºh±m±”ti. Atha kho so taruºapasanno mah±matto ujjh±yati khiyyati vip±ceti– “kathañhi n±ma bhadant± may± nimantit± aññassa bhojjay±gu½ paribhuñjissanti, na c±ha½ paµibalo y±vadattha½ d±tun”ti kupito anattamano ±s±dan±pekkho bhikkh³na½ patte p³rento agam±si– bhuñjatha v± haratha v±ti. Atha kho so taruºapasanno mah±matto buddhappamukha½ bhikkhusaªgha½ paº²tena kh±dan²yena bhojan²yena sahatth± santappetv± sampav±retv± bhagavanta½ bhutt±vi½ on²tapattap±ºi½ ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinna½ kho ta½ taruºapasanna½ mah±matta½ bhagav± dhammiy± kath±ya sandassetv± sam±dapetv± samuttejetv± sampaha½setv± uµµh±y±san± pakk±mi.
Atha kho tassa taruºapasannassa mah±mattassa acirapakkantassa bhagavato ahudeva kukkucca½, ahu vippaµis±ro– “al±bh± vata me, na vata me l±bh±; dulladdha½ vata me, na vata me suladdha½; yoha½ kupito anattamano ±s±dan±pekkho bhikkh³na½ patte p³rento agam±si½– ‘bhuñjatha v± haratha v±’ti. Ki½ nu kho may± bahu½ pasuta½ puñña½ v± apuñña½ v±”ti? Atha kho so taruºapasanno mah±matto yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami, upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinno kho so taruºapasanno mah±matto bhagavanta½ etadavoca– “idha mayha½, bhante, acirapakkantassa bhagavato ahudeva kukkucca½, ahu vippaµis±ro ‘al±bh± vata me, na vata me l±bh±; dulladdha½ vata me, na vata me suladdha½; yoha½ kupito anattamano ±s±dan±pekkho bhikkh³na½ patte p³rento agam±si½– bhuñjatha v± haratha v±ti. Ki½ nu kho may± bahu½ pasuta½, puñña½ v± apuñña½ v±’ti. Ki½ nu kho may±, bhante, bahu½ pasuta½, puñña½ v± apuñña½ v±”ti? “Yadaggena tay±, ±vuso, sv±tan±ya buddhappamukho bhikkhusaªgho nimantito tadaggena te bahu½ puñña½ pasuta½. Yadaggena te ekamekena bhikkhun± ekameka½ sittha½ paµiggahita½ tadaggena te bahu½ puñña½ pasuta½, sagg± te ±raddh±”ti. Atha kho so taruºapasanno mah±matto– “l±bh± kira me, suladdha½ kira me, bahu½ kira may± puñña½ pasuta½, sagg± kira me ±raddh±”ti– haµµho udaggo uµµh±y±san± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± padakkhiºa½ katv± pakk±mi. Atha kho bhagav± etasmi½ nid±ne etasmi½ pakaraºe bhikkhusaªgha½ sannip±t±petv± bhikkh³ paµipucchi– “sacca½ kira, bhikkhave, bhikkh³ aññatra nimantit± aññassa bhojjay±gu½ paribhuñjant²”ti? “Sacca½, bhagav±”ti. Vigarahi buddho bhagav±…pe… kathañhi n±ma te, bhikkhave, moghapuris± aññatra nimantit± aññassa bhojjay±gu½ paribhuñjissanti. Neta½, bhikkhave, appasann±na½ v± pas±d±ya…pe… vigarahitv± dhammi½ katha½ katv± bhikkh³ ±mantesi “na, bhikkhave, aññatra nimantitena aññassa bhojjay±gu paribhuñjitabb±. Yo paribhuñjeyya, yath±dhammo k±retabbo”ti.
