Dakkhissasi tva½, soºa, ta½ bhagavanta½ p±s±dika½ pas±dan²ya½ santindriya½ santam±nasa½ uttamadamathasamatha½ amanuppatta½ danta½ gutta½ yatindriya½ n±ga½. Tena hi tva½, soºa, mama vacanena bhagavato p±de siras± vanda– ‘upajjh±yo me, bhante, ±yasm± mah±kacc±no bhagavato p±de siras± vandat²”’ti. Evañca vadehi– “avantidakkhiº±patho, bhante, appabhikkhuko, tiººa½ me vass±na½ accayena kicchena kasirena tato tato dasavagga½ bhikkhusaªgha½ sannip±t±petv± upasampada½ alattha½; appeva n±ma bhagav± avantidakkhiº±pathe appatarena gaºena upasampada½ anuj±neyya. Seyyath±pi, bhante, majjhimesu janapadesu erag³ morag³ majj±r³ [majjh±r³ (ka.)] jant³, evameva kho, bhante, avantidakkhiº±pathe camm±ni attharaº±ni, e¼akacamma½ ajacamma½ migacamma½; appeva n±ma bhagav± avantidakkhiº±pathe camm±ni attharaº±ni anuj±neyya, e¼akacamma½ ajacamma½ migacamma½. Etarahi, bhante, manuss± niss²magat±na½ bhikkh³na½ c²vara½ denti– ‘ima½ c²vara½ itthann±massa dem±”’ti. Te ±gantv± ±rocenti– ‘itthann±mehi te, ±vuso, manussehi c²vara½ dinnan’ti te kukkucc±yant± na s±diyanti– ‘m± no nissaggiya½ ahos²’ti; appeva n±ma bhagav± c²vare pariy±ya½ ±cikkheyy±”ti. “Eva½, bhante”ti kho ±yasm± soºo ±yasmato mah±kacc±nassa paµissutv± uµµh±y±san± ±yasmanta½ mah±kacc±na½ abhiv±detv± padakkhiºa½ katv± sen±sana½ sa½s±metv± pattac²varam±d±ya yena s±vatthi tena pakk±mi. Anupubbena yena s±vatthi jetavana½ an±thapiº¹ikassa ±r±mo yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami, upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Atha kho bhagav± ±yasmanta½ ±nanda½ ±mantesi– “imassa, ±nanda, ±gantukassa bhikkhuno sen±sana½ paññ±peh²”ti. Atha kho ±yasm± ±nando– “yassa kho ma½ bhagav± ±º±peti, ‘imassa, ±nanda, ±gantukassa bhikkhuno sen±sana½ paññ±peh²’ti, icchati bhagav± tena bhikkhun± saddhi½ ekavih±re vatthu½, icchati bhagav± ±yasmat± soºena saddhi½ ekavih±re vatthun”ti– yasmi½ vih±re bhagav± viharati tasmi½ vih±re ±yasmato soºassa sen±sana½ paññ±pesi.
258. Atha kho bhagav± bahudeva ratti½ ajjhok±se v²tin±metv± vih±ra½ p±visi. ¾yasm±pi kho soºo bahudeva ratti½ ajjhok±se v²tin±metv± vih±ra½ p±visi. Atha kho bhagav± rattiy± pacc³sasamaya½ paccuµµh±ya ±yasmanta½ soºa½ ajjhesi– “paµibh±tu ta½, bhikkhu, dhammo bh±situn”ti. “Eva½, bhante”ti kho ±yasm± soºo bhagavato paµissuºitv± sabb±neva aµµhakavaggik±ni sarena abh±si. Atha kho bhagav± ±yasmato soºassa sarabhaññapariyos±ne abbh±numodi– “s±dhu, s±dhu, bhikkhu. Suggahit±ni kho te, bhikkhu, aµµhakavaggik±ni sumanasikat±ni s³padh±rit±ni. Kaly±ºiy±pi v±c±ya samann±gato, vissaµµh±ya, anelagal±ya [ane¼agal±ya (ka.)], atthassa viññ±paniy±. Kativassosi tva½, bhikkh³”ti? “Ekavassoha½, bhagav±”ti. “Kissa pana tva½, bhikkhu, eva½ cira½ ak±s²”ti? “Cira½ diµµho me, bhante, k±mesu ±d²navo, api ca samb±dh± ghar±v±s± bahukicc± bahukaraº²y±”ti.
