Ekamanta½ nisinno kho soºo ko¼iviso bhagavanta½ etadavoca– “yath± yath±ha½, bhante, bhagavat± dhamma½ desita½ ±j±n±mi, nayida½ sukara½ ag±ra½ ajjh±vasat± ekantaparipuººa½ ekantaparisuddha½ saªkhalikhita½ brahmacariya½ caritu½. Icch±maha½, bhante, kesamassu½ oh±retv± k±s±y±ni vatth±ni acch±detv± ag±rasm± anag±riya½ pabbajitu½. Pabb±jetu ma½, bhante, bhagav±”ti. Alattha kho soºo ko¼iviso bhagavato santike pabbajja½, alattha upasampada½. Acirupasampanno ca pan±yasm± soºo s²tavane viharati. Tassa acc±raddhav²riyassa caªkamato p±d± bhijji½su. Caªkamo lohitena phuµo hoti, seyyath±pi gav±gh±tana½. [Ito para½ y±va imassa vatthussa avas±na½ t±va p±µho a. ni. 6.55 ±dayo] atha kho ±yasmato soºassa rahogatassa paµisall²nassa eva½ cetaso parivitakko udap±di– “ye kho keci bhagavato s±vak± ±raddhav²riy± viharanti, aha½ tesa½ aññataro. Atha ca pana me n±nup±d±ya ±savehi citta½ vimuccati. Sa½vijjanti kho pana me kule bhog±; sakk± bhoge ca bhuñjitu½, puññ±ni ca k±tu½. Ya½n³n±ha½ h²n±y±vattitv± bhoge ca bhuñjeyya½, puññ±ni ca kareyyan”ti. Atha kho bhagav± ±yasmato soºassa cetas± cetoparivitakkamaññ±ya– seyyath±pi n±ma balav± puriso samiñjita½ v± b±ha½ pas±reyya, pas±rita½ v± b±ha½ samiñjeyya evameva– gijjhak³µe pabbate antarahito s²tavane p±turahosi. Atha kho bhagav± sambahulehi bhikkh³hi saddhi½ sen±sanac±rika½ ±hiº¹anto yen±yasmato soºassa caªkamo tenupasaªkami. Addas± kho bhagav± ±yasmato soºassa caªkama½ lohitena phuµa½, disv±na bhikkh³ ±mantesi– “kassa nv±ya½, bhikkhave, caªkamo lohitena phuµo, seyyath±pi gav±gh±tanan”ti? “¾yasmato, bhante, soºassa acc±raddhav²riyassa caªkamato p±d± bhijji½su. Tass±ya½ caªkamo lohitena phuµo, seyyath±pi gav±gh±tanan”ti.
Atha kho bhagav± yen±yasmato soºassa vih±ro tenupasaªkami, upasaªkamitv± paññatte ±sane nis²di. ¾yasm±pi kho soºo bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinna½ kho ±yasmanta½ soºa½ bhagav± etadavoca– “nanu te, soºa, rahogatassa paµisall²nassa eva½ cetaso parivitakko udap±di– ‘ye kho keci bhagavato s±vak± ±raddhav²riy± viharanti, aha½ tesa½ aññataro. Atha ca pana me n±nup±d±ya ±savehi citta½ vimuccati. Sa½vijjanti kho pana me kule bhog±; sakk± bhoge ca bhuñjitu½, puññ±ni ca k±tu½. Ya½n³n±ha½ h²n±y±vattitv± bhoge ca bhuñjeyya½, puññ±ni ca kareyya”n’ti? “Eva½, bhante”ti “Ta½ ki½ maññasi, soºa, kusalo tva½ pubbe ag±rikabh³to v²º±ya tantissare”ti? “Eva½, bhante”ti. “Ta½ ki½ maññasi, soºa, yad± te v²º±ya tantiyo acc±yat± honti, api nu te v²º± tasmi½ samaye saravat² v± hoti, kammaññ± v±”ti? “No heta½, bhante”ti. “Ta½ ki½ maññasi, soºa, yad± te v²º±ya tantiyo atisithil± honti, api nu te v²º± tasmi½ samaye saravat² v± hoti, kammaññ± v±”ti? “No heta½, bhante”ti. “Ta½ ki½ maññasi, soºa, yad± te v²º±ya tantiyo neva acc±yat± honti n±tisithil±, same guºe patiµµhit±, api nu te v²º± tasmi½ samaye saravat² v± hoti, kammaññ± v±”ti? “Eva½, bhante”ti. “Evameva kho, soºa, acc±raddhav²riya½ uddhacc±ya sa½vattati atil²nav²riya½ kosajj±ya sa½vattati. Atha kho bhagav± ±yasmanta½ soºa½ imin± ov±dena ovaditv±– seyyath±pi n±ma balav± puriso sammiñjita½ v± b±ha½ pas±reyya, pas±rita½ v± b±ha½ samiñjeyya evameva– s²tavane ±yasmato soºassa sammukhe antarahito gijjhak³µe pabbate p±turahosi. Atha kho ±yasm± soºo aparena samayena v²riyasamata½ adhiµµh±si, indriy±nañca samata½ paµivijjhi, tattha ca nimitta½ aggahesi. Atha kho ±yasm± soºo, eko v³pakaµµho appamatto ±t±p² pahitatto viharanto, na cirasseva– yassatth±ya kulaputt± sammadeva ag±rasm± anag±riya½ pabbajanti– tadanuttara½ brahmacariyapariyos±na½ diµµheva dhamme saya½ abhiññ± sacchikatv± upasampajja vih±si. ‘Kh²º± j±ti, vusita½ brahmacariya½, kata½ karaº²ya½, n±para½ itthatt±y±’ti abhiññ±si. Aññataro ca pan±yasm± soºo arahata½ ahosi.

Ekamanta½ nisinno kho ±yasm± soºo bhagavanta½ etadavoca– yo so, bhante, bhikkhu araha½ kh²º±savo vusitav± katakaraº²yo ohitabh±ro anuppattasadattho parikkh²ºabhavasaññojano sammadaññ± vimutto, so chaµµh±n±ni adhimutto hoti– nekkhamm±dhimutto hoti, pavivek±dhimutto hoti, aby±pajj±dhimutto hoti, up±d±nakkhay±dhimutto hoti, taºhakkhay±dhimutto hoti asammoh±dhimutto hoti.
