G±hentena pana vicchinditv± “bhattan”ti avadantena “tumhe ca tumhe ca gacchath±”ti vutte piŗ¹ap±tik±na½ vaµµati. “Bhante, tumh±ka½ patta½ detha, tumhe eth±”ti vutte pana “s±dhu, up±sak±”ti gantabba½. Eko “saŖghato paµip±µiy± pattan”ti avatv± kevala½ “eka½ patta½ deth±”ti vatv± ag±hiteyeva patte yassa kassaci patta½ gahetv± p³retv± ±harati, ta½ pattas±mikasseva hoti, uddesabhatte viya µhitik±ya na g±hetabba½. Idh±pi yo ±gantv± tuŗh²bh³to tiµµhati, so “kassa santika½ ±gatos²”ti v± “kassa patta½ harissas²”ti v± na vattabbo.
Pucch±sabh±gena hi “tumh±ka½ santika½ ±gato, tumh±ka½ patta½ hariss±m²”ti vadeyya, tato so bhikkhu bhikkh³hi jigucchan²yo assa. “Kuhi½ gacchasi, ki½ karonto ±hiŗ¹as²”ti pana vutte “tassa pattatth±ya ±gatomh²”ti vadantassa paµip±µiy± bhattaµµhitik±ya g±hetv± patto d±tabbo. “Bhatt±haraŗakapatta½ deth±”ti vuttepi paµip±µiy± bhattaµµhitik±ya eva d±tabbo. Eko p±tiy± bhatta½ ±haritv± “saŖghassa damm²”ti vadati, ±lopabhattaµµhitikato paµµh±ya ±lopasaŖkhepena bh±jetabba½. Sace pana tuŗh²bh³to acchati, “kassa te ±bhata½, kassa d±tuk±mos²”ti na vattabbo. Sace pana “kuhi½ gacchasi, ki½ karonto ±hiŗ¹as²”ti vutte “saŖghassa me bhatta½ ±bhata½, ther±na½ me bhatta½ ±bhatan”ti vadati, gahetv± ±lopabhattaµµhitik±ya bh±jetabba½. Sace pana eva½ ±bhata½ bahu½ hoti, sakalassa saŖghassa bahu hoti, abhihaµabhikkh± n±ma piŗ¹ap±tik±nampi vaµµati, µhitik±pucchanakicca½ natthi, ther±sanato paµµh±ya patta½ p³retv± d±tabba½.
Up±sako saŖghattherassa v± ganthadhutaŖgavasena abhińń±tassa v± bhattuddesakassa v± pahiŗ±ti “amh±ka½ bhattagahaŗatth±ya aµµha bhikkh³ gahetv± ±gacchath±”ti, sacepi ń±ti-upaµµh±kehi pesita½ hoti, ime tayo jan± pucchitu½ na labhanti, ±ru¼h±yeva m±tika½, saŖghato aµµha bhikkh³ uddis±petv± attanavamehi gantabba½. Kasm±? BhikkhusaŖghassa hi ete bhikkh³ niss±ya l±bho uppajjat²ti. Nimantitabhikkh³ ±sanas±l±ya nisinn± honti, tatra ce manuss± “patte deth±”ti ±gacchanti, animantitehi na d±tabb±. “Ete nimantitabhikkh³”ti vattabba½. “Tumhepi deth±”ti vutte pana d±tu½ vaµµati. Ussav±d²su manuss± sayameva pariveŗ±ni ca padh±naghar±ni ca gantv± tipiµake ca dhammakathike ca bhikkhusatenapi saddhi½ nimantenti. Tad± yepi j±nanti, te gahetv± gantu½ vaµµati. Kasm±? Na hi mah±bhikkhusaŖghena atthik± manuss± pariveŗ±ni ca padh±naghar±ni gacchanti, sannip±taµµh±natova yath±satti yath±bala½ bhikkh³ gaŗhitv± gacchant²ti.
Sace pana saŖghatthero v± ganthadhutaŖgavasena abhińń±tako v± bhattuddesako v± ańńatra v± vassa½ vasitv± katthaci v± gantv± puna sakaµµh±na½ ±gacchanti, manuss± ca ±gantukassa sakk±ra½ karonti, ekav±ra½ ye j±nanti, te gahetv± gantabba½. Paµibaddhak±lato pana paµµh±ya dutiyav±re ±raddhe saŖghatoyeva gahetv± gantabba½. Abhinava-±gantuk±va hutv± ń±t² v± upaµµh±ke v± passiss±m±ti gacchanti, tatra tesa½ ń±t² ca upaµµh±k± ca sakk±ra½ karonti. Ettha pana ye j±nanti, te gahetv± gantu½ vaµµati.
Yo pana atil±bh² hoti, sakaµµh±nańca ±gantukaµµh±nańca ekasadisa½, sabbattha manuss± saŖghabhatta½ sajjetv±va nis²danti, tena saŖghatova gahetv± gantabbanti aya½ nimantane viseso. Avaseso sabbapańho uddesabhatte vuttanayeneva veditabbo. Kurundiya½ pana “aµµha mah±there deth±”ti vutte “aµµha mah±ther±va d±tabb±”ti vutta½. Esa nayo majjhim±d²su.
