247. Na bhikkhave ±d±se v± udakapatte v±ti ettha ka½sapatt±d²nipi yesu mukhanimitta½ pańń±yati, sabb±ni ±d±sasaŖkhameva gacchanti. Kańjiy±d²nipi ca udakapattasaŖkhameva. Tasm± yattha katthaci olokentassa dukkaµa½. ¾b±dhapaccay±ti “sańchavi nu kho me vaŗo, ud±hu na t±v±”ti j±nanattha½; “jiŗŗo nu khomhi no”ti eva½ ±yusaŖkh±ra½ olokanatthampi vaµµat²ti vutta½.
Mukha½ ±limpant²ti vippasannachavir±gakarehi mukh±lepanehi ±limpanti. Ummaddent²ti n±n±-ummaddanehi ummaddenti. Cuŗŗent²ti mukhacuŗŗakena makkhenti. 248. Na bhikkhave nacca½ v±ti-±d²su ya½kińci nacca½ antamaso moranaccampi dassan±ya gacchantassa dukkaµa½. Sayampi naccantassa v± nacc±pentassa v± dukkaµameva. G²tampi ya½kińci naµag²ta½ v± s±dhug²ta½ v± antamaso dantag²tampi “ya½ g±yiss±m±”ti pubbabh±ge ok³jant± karonti, etampi na vaµµati. Saya½ g±yantass±pi g±y±pentass±pi dukkaµameva. V±ditampi ya½kińci na vaµµati. Ya½ pana niµµhubhanto v± s±saŖke v± µhito accharika½ v± phoµeti p±ŗi½ v± paharati, tattha an±patti. Sabba½ antar±r±me µhitassa passato an±patti. “Passiss±m²”ti vih±rato vih±ra½ gacchantassa ±pattiyeva. ¾sanas±l±ya nisinno passati, an±patti. “Passiss±m²”ti uµµhahitv± gacchato ±patti. 249. Sarakuttinti sarakiriya½. BhaŖgo hot²ti aladdha½ upp±detu½ na sakkoti; laddha½ sam±pajjitu½. Pacchim± janat±ti amh±ka½ ±cariy±pi upajjh±y±pi eva½ g±yi½s³ti pacchimo jano diµµh±nugati½ ±pajjati; tatheva g±yati. Na bhikkhave ±yataken±ti ettha ±yatako n±ma ta½ ta½ vatta½ bhinditv± akkhar±ni vin±setv± pavatto. Dhamme pana suttantavatta½ n±ma atthi, j±takavatta½ n±ma atthi, g±th±vatta½ n±ma atthi, ta½ vin±setv± atid²gha½ k±tu½ na vaµµati. Caturassena vattena parimaŗ¹al±ni padabyańjan±ni dassetabb±ni. Sarabhańńanti sarena bhaŗana½. Sarabhańńe kira taraŖgavattadhotakavattagalitavatt±d²ni dvatti½sa vatt±ni atthi. Tesu ya½ icchati, ta½ k±tu½ labhati. Sabbesa½ padabyańjana½ avin±setv± vik±ra½ akatv± samaŗas±ruppena caturassena nayena pavattana½yeva lakkhaŗa½.

251. Na bhikkhave attano aŖgaj±tanti aŖgaj±ta½ chindantasseva thullaccaya½. Ańńa½ pana kaŗŗan±s±-aŖguli-±di½ ya½kińci chindantassa t±disa½ v± dukkha½ upp±dentassa dukkaµa½. Ahik²µadaµµh±d²su pana ańńa-±b±dhapaccay± v± lohita½ v± mocentassa chindantassa v± an±patti.
252. Candanagaŗµhi uppann± hot²ti candanaghaµik± uppann± hoti. So kira uddhańca adho ca j±l±ni parikkhip±petv± gaŖg±ya nadiy± k²¼ati, tassa nad²sotena vuyham±n± candanagaŗµhi ±gantv± j±le lagg±, tamassa puris± ±haritv± ada½su; eva½ s± uppann± hoti. Iddhip±µih±riyanti ettha vikubbaniddhip±µih±riya½ paµikkhitta½, adhiµµh±niddhi pana appaµikkhitt±ti veditabb±.
Na bhikkhave sovaŗŗamayo pattoti-±d²su sacepi gih² bhattagge suvaŗŗataµµik±d²su byańjana½ katv± upan±menti, ±masitumpi na vaµµati. Phalikamayak±camayaka½samay±ni pana taµµik±d²ni bh±jan±ni puggalikaparibhogeneva na vaµµanti, saŖghikaparibhogena v± gihivikaµ±ni v± vaµµanti. “Tambalohamayopi pattova na vaµµati, th±laka½ pana vaµµat²”ti ida½ sabba½ kurundiya½ vutta½. Maŗimayoti ettha pana indan²l±dimaŗimayo vutto. Ka½samayoti ettha vaµµalohamayopi saŖgahito.
253. Likhitunti tanukaraŗatth±yeta½ vutta½. Pakatimaŗ¹alanti makaradantacchinnakamaŗ¹alameva.
254. ¾vaµµitv±ti ańńamańńa½ paharitv±. Patt±dh±rakanti ettha “dantavallivett±d²hi kate bh³mi-±dh±rake tayo, d±ru-±dh±rake dve patte upar³pari µhapetu½ vaµµat²”ti kurundiya½ vutta½. Mah±-aµµhakath±ya½ pana vutta½– “bh³mi-±dh±rake tiŗŗa½ patt±na½ anok±so, dve µhapetu½ vaµµati. D±ru-±dh±rakadaŗ¹±dh±rakesupi susajjitesu eseva nayo. Bhamakoµisadiso pana d±ru-±dh±rako t²hi daŗ¹akehi baddho daŗ¹ak±dh±ro ca ekassapi pattassa anok±so, tattha µhapetv±pi hatthena gahetv± eva nis²ditabba½. Bh³miya½ pana nikkujjitv± ekameva µhapetabban”ti.

Co¼akanti ya½ pattharitv± patto µhap²yati; tasmi½ pana asati kaµas±rake v± taµµik±ya v± mattik±paribhaŗ¹akat±ya bh³miy± v± yattha na dussati, tath±r³p±ya v±lik±ya v± µhapetu½ vaµµati. Pa½suraj±d²su pana kharabh³miya½ v± µhapentassa dukkaµa½. Pattam±¼aka½ iµµhak±hi v± d±r³hi v± k±tu½ vaµµati Pattakuŗ¹olik±ti mah±mukhakuŗ¹asaŗµh±n± bhaŗ¹akukkhalik± vuccati. Yo laggeyy±ti yattha katthaci laggentassa dukkaµameva. C²varava½sepi bandhitv± µhapetu½ na vaµµati. Pattahatthen±ti ettha na kevala½ yassa patto hatthe, so eva pattahattho, na kevalańca kav±µameva paŗ±metu½ na labhati; apica kho pana hatthe v± piµµhip±de v± yattha katthaci sar²r±vayave pattasmi½ sati hatthena v± p±dena v± s²sena v± yena kenaci sar²r±vayavena kav±µa½ v± paŗ±metu½ ghaµika½ v± ukkhipitu½ s³ci½ v± kuńcik±ya ap±puritu½ na labhati. A½sak³µe pana patta½ laggetv± yath±sukha½ av±puritu½ labhati.
