Yampi ekasmi½yeva g±makhette eka½ padesa½ “aya½ visu½ g±mo hot³”ti paricchinditv± r±j± kassaci deti, sopi visu½g±mas²m± hotiyeva. Eva½ g±mantav±s²na½ s²m±pariccheda½ dassetv± id±ni ±rańńak±na½ s²m±pariccheda½ dassento “ag±make ce”ti-±dim±ha. Tattha ag±make ceti g±manigamanagaras²m±hi aparicchinne aµavippadese. Atha v± ag±make ceti vijjh±µavisadise arańńe bhikkhu vasati, athassa µhitok±sato samant± sattabbhantar± sam±nasa½v±sakas²m±ti attho. Aya½ s²m± tic²varavippav±saparih±rampi labhati. Tattha eka½ abbhantara½ aµµhav²sati hatthappam±ŗa½ hoti. Majjhe µhitassa samant± sattabbhantar± vinibbedhena cuddasa honti. Sace dve saŖgh± visu½ vinayakamm±ni karonti, dvinna½ sattabbhantar±na½ antare ańńa½ eka½ sattabbhantara½ upac±ratth±ya µhapetabba½. Ses± sattabbhantaras²makath± mah±vibhaŖge udositasikkh±padavaŗŗan±ya½ vuttanayena gahetabb±.
Sabb± bhikkhave nad² as²m±ti y± k±ci nad²lakkhaŗappatt± nad² nimitt±ni kittetv± “eta½ baddhas²ma½ karom±”ti kat±pi as²m±va hoti, s± pana attano sabh±veneva baddhas²m±sadis±, sabbamettha saŖghakamma½ k±tu½ vaµµati. Samuddaj±tassaresupi eseva nayo. Ettha ca j±tassaro n±ma yena kenaci khaŗitv± akato saya½j±tasobbho samantato ±gatena udakena p³rito tiµµhati.
Eva½ nad²samuddaj±tassar±na½ baddhas²m±bh±va½ paµikkhipitv± puna tattha abaddhas²m±pa-accheda½ dassento “nadiy± v± bhikkhave”ti-±dim±ha. Tattha ya½ majjhimassa purisassa samant± udakukkhep±ti ya½ µh±na½ majjhimassa purisassa samantato udakukkhepena paricchinna½. Katha½ pana udaka½ ukkhipitabba½? Yath± akkhadhutt± d±rugu¼a½ khipanti, eva½ udaka½ v± v±lika½ v± hatthena gahetv± th±mamajjhimena purisena sabbath±mena khipitabba½. Yattha eva½ khitta½ udaka½ v± v±lik± v± patati, ayameko udakukkhepo. Tassa anto hatthap±sa½ vijahitv± µhito kamma½ kopeti. Y±va paris± va¹¹hati, t±va s²m±pi va¹¹hati. Ya½ pana mah±sumattherena vutta½ “yojana½ pavattam±n±yeva nad², tatr±pi upari addhayojana½ pah±ya heµµh± addhayojane kamma½ k±tu½ vaµµat²”ti, ta½ mah±padumatthereneva paµikkhitta½. Bhagavat± hi “timaŗ¹ala½ paµicch±detv± yattha katthaci uttarantiy± bhikkhuniy± antarav±sako temiyat²”ti ida½ nadiy± pam±ŗa½ vutta½, na yojana½ v± addhayojana½ v±. Tasm± y± imassa suttassa vasena pubbe vuttalakkhaŗ± nad², tass± pabhavato paµµh±ya saŖghakamma½ k±tu½ vaµµat²ti. Sace panettha bah³ bhikkh³ visu½ visu½ kamma½ karonti, sabbehi attano ca ańńesańca udakukkhepaparicchedassa antar± ańńo udakukkhepo s²mantarikatth±ya µhapetabbo. Tato adhika½ vaµµatiyeva, ³naka½ pana na vaµµat²ti vutta½. J±tassarasamuddesupi eseva nayo.
Nadiy± pana kamma½ kariss±m±ti gatehi sace nad² paripuŗŗ± hoti samatittik±, udakas±µika½ niv±setv±pi antonadiya½yeva kamma½ k±tabba½. Sace na sakkonti, n±v±yapi µhatv± k±tabba½. Gacchantiy± pana n±v±ya k±tu½ na vaµµati. Kasm±? Udakukkhepamattameva hi s²m±, ta½ n±v± s²ghameva atikk±meti. Eva½ sati ańńiss± s²m±ya ńatti ańńiss± anus±van± hoti, tasm± n±va½ arittena v± µhapetv± p±s±ŗe v± lambitv± antonadiya½ j±tarukkhe v± bandhitv± kamma½ k±tabba½. Antonadiya½ baddha-aµµakepi antonadiya½ j±tarukkhepi µhitehi k±tu½ vaµµati.
Sace pana rukkhassa s±kh± v± tato nikkhantap±roho v± bahinad²t²re vih±ras²m±ya v± g±mas²m±ya v± patiµµhito, s²ma½ v± sodhetv± s±kha½ v± chinditv± kamma½ k±tabba½. Bahinad²t²re j±tarukkhassa antonadiya½ paviµµhas±kh±ya v± p±rohe v± n±va½ bandhitv± kamma½ k±tu½ na vaµµati. Karontehi s²m± v± sodhetabb±, chinditv± v±ssa bahipatiµµhitabh±vo n±setabbo. Nad²t²re pana kh±ŗuka½ koµµetv± tattha baddhan±v±ya na vaµµatiyeva.
Nadiya½ setu½ karonti, sace antonadiya½yeva setu v± setup±d± v±, setumhi µhitehi kamma½ k±tu½ vaµµati. Sace pana setu v± setup±d± v± bahit²re patiµµhit±, kamma½ k±tu½ na vaµµati, s²ma½ sodhetv± k±tabba½. Atha setup±d± anto, setu pana ubhinnampi t²r±na½ upari-±k±se µhito, vaµµati. Antonadiya½ p±s±ŗo v± d²pako v± hoti, tassa yattaka½ padesa½ pubbe vuttappak±re pakativassak±le vass±nassa cat³su m±sesu udaka½ ottharati, so nad²saŖkhyameva gacchati. Ativuµµhik±le pana oghena otthaµok±so na gahetabbo, so hi g±mas²m±saŖkhyameva gacchati.
Nadito m±tika½ n²harant± nadiya½ ±varaŗa½ karonti, tańce ottharitv± v± vinibbijjhitv± v± udaka½ gacchati, sabbattha pavattanaµµh±ne kamma½ k±tu½ vaµµati. Sace pana ±varaŗena v± koµµakabandhanena v± sota½ pacchijjati, udaka½ nappavattati, appavattanaµµh±ne kamma½ k±tu½ na vaµµati. ¾varaŗamatthakepi k±tu½ na vaµµati. Sace koci ±varaŗappadeso pubbe vuttap±s±ŗad²pakappadeso viya udakena ajjhotthariyati, tattha vaµµati. So hi nad²saŖkhyameva gacchati. Nadi½ vin±setv± ta¼±ka½ karonti, heµµh± p±¼i baddh±, udaka½ ±gantv± ta¼±ka½ p³retv± tiµµhati, ettha kamma½ k±tu½ na vaµµati. Upari pavattanaµµh±ne heµµh± ca cha¹¹itamodaka½ nadi½ ottharitv± sandanaµµh±nato paµµh±ya vaµµati. Deve avassante hemantagimhesu v± sukkhanadiy±pi vaµµati. Nadito n²haµam±tik±ya na vaµµati. Sace s± k±lantarena bhijjitv± nad² hoti, vaµµati. K±ci nad² k±lantarena uppatitv± g±manigamas²ma½ ottharitv± pavattati, nad²yeva hoti, kamma½ k±tu½ vaµµati. Sace pana vih±ras²ma½ ottharati, vih±ras²m±tveva saŖkhya½ gacchati.
Samuddepi kamma½ karontehi ya½ padesa½ uddha½ va¹¹hana-udaka½ v± pakativ²ci v± vegena ±gantv± ottharati, tattha k±tu½ na vaµµati. Yasmi½ pana padese pakativ²ciyo ottharitv± saŗµhahanti, so udakantato paµµh±ya antosamuddo n±ma, tattha µhitehi kamma½ k±tabba½. Sace ³mivego b±dhati, n±v±ya v± aµµake v± µhatv± k±tabba½. Tesu vinicchayo nadiya½ vuttanayeneva veditabbo. Samudde piµµhip±s±ŗo hoti, ta½ kad±ci ³miyo ±gantv± ottharanti kad±ci na ottharanti, tattha kamma½ k±tu½ na vaµµati, so hi g±mas²m±saŖkhyameva gacchati. Sace pana v²c²su ±gat±supi an±gat±supi pakati-udakeneva otthariyati, vaµµati. D²pako v± pabbato v± hoti, so ce d³re hoti macchabandh±na½ agamanapathe, arańńas²m±saŖkhyameva gacchati. J±tassare kamma½ karontehipi yattha pubbe vuttappak±re vassak±le vasse pacchinnamatte pivitu½ v± hatthap±de v± dhovitu½ udaka½ na hoti, sukkhati, aya½ na j±tassaro, g±makhettasaŖkhyameva gacchati, tattha kamma½ na k±tabba½. Yattha pana vuttappak±re vassak±le udaka½ santiµµhati, ayameva j±tassaro. Tassa yattake padese vass±na½ c±tum±se udaka½ tiµµhati, tattha kamma½ k±tu½ vaµµati. Sace gambh²ra½ udaka½, aµµaka½ bandhitv± tattha µhitehipi j±tassarassa anto j±tarukkhamhi baddha-aµµakepi k±tu½ vaµµati. Piµµhip±s±ŗad²pakesu panettha nadiya½ vuttasadisova vinicchayo. Samavassadevak±le pahonakaj±tassaro pana sacepi dubbuµµhik±le v± gimhahemantesu v± sukkhati, nirudako hoti, tattha saŖghakamma½ k±tu½ vaµµati. Ya½ andhakaµµhakath±ya½ vutta½ “sabbo j±tassaro sukkho anodako g±makhetta½yeva bhajat²”ti, ta½ na gahetabba½. Sace panettha udakatth±ya ±v±µa½ v± pokkharaŗ²-±d²ni v± khaŗanti, ta½ µh±na½ aj±tassaro hoti, g±mas²m±saŖkhya½ gacchati. L±butipusak±divappe katepi eseva nayo.
Sace pana ta½ p³retv± thala½ v± karonti, ekasmi½ dis±bh±ge p±¼i½ bandhitv± sabbameva ta½ mah±ta¼±ka½ v± karonti, sabbopi aj±tassaro hoti, g±mas²m±saŖkhyameva gacchati. Loŗ²pi j±tassarasaŖkhyameva gacchati. Vassike catt±ro m±se udakaµµh±nok±se kamma½ k±tu½ vaµµat²ti.
148. S²m±ya s²ma½ sambhindant²ti attano s²m±ya paresa½ baddhas²ma½ sambhindanti. Sace hi por±ŗakassa vih±rassa puratthim±ya dis±ya ambo ceva jamb³ c±ti dve rukkh± ańńamańńa½ sa½saµµhaviµap± honti, tesu ambassa pacchimadis±bh±ge jamb³. Vih±ras²m± ca jambu½ anto katv± amba½ kittetv± baddh± hoti, atha pacch± tassa vih±rassa puratthim±ya dis±ya vih±ra½ katv± s²ma½ bandhant± ta½ amba½ anto katv± jambu½ kittetv± bandhanti, s²m±ya s²m± sambhinn± hoti. Eva½ chabbaggiy± aka½su, ten±ha– “s²m±ya s²ma½ sambhindant²”ti.

S²m±ya s²ma½ ajjhottharant²ti attano s²m±ya paresa½ baddhas²ma½ ajjhottharanti;

Paresa½ baddhas²ma½ sakala½ v± tass± padesa½ v± anto katv± attano s²ma½ bandhanti. S²mantarika½ µhapetv± s²ma½ sammannitunti ettha sace paµhamatara½ katassa vih±rassa s²m± asammat± hoti, s²m±ya upac±ro µhapetabbo. Sace sammat± hoti, pacchimakoµiy± hatthamatt± s²mantarik± µhapetabb±. Kurundiya½ vidatthimattampi, mah±paccariya½ caturaŖgulamattampi vaµµat²ti vutta½. Ekarukkhopi ca dvinna½ s²m±na½ nimitta½ hoti, so pana va¹¹hanto s²m±saŖkara½ karoti, tasm± na k±tabbo.
