So pacc³sasamaye k±la½ katv± upa¹¹huposathakammanissandena mah±vattani-aµavidv±re nigrodharukkhadevaputto hutv± nibbatti.

Mah±seµµhino “isayo ±gat±”ti paccuggamana½ katv± “sve amh±ka½ bhikkha½ gaŗhatha, bhante”ti nimantetv± punadivase isigaŗassa mah±d±na½ ada½su. Isayo “bhutv±va gacch±m±”ti ±pucchi½su. Bhante, tumhe ańńasmi½ k±le ekampi m±sa½ dvepi tayopi catt±ropi m±se vasitv± gacchatha, imasmi½ pana v±re hiyyo ±gantv± “ajjeva gacch±m±”ti vadatha, ki½ idanti. ¾ma gahapatayo buddho loke uppanno, na kho pana sakk± j²vitantar±yo j±nitu½, tena maya½ turit± gacch±m±ti Tena hi, bhante, mayampi ±gacch±ma, amhehi saddhi½yeva gacchath±ti. “Tumhe ag±riy± n±ma mah±jaµ±, tiµµhatha tumhe, maya½ puretara½ gamiss±m±”ti nikkhamitv± ekaµµh±ne dve divas±ni avasitv± turitagamanena s±vatthi½ patv± jetavanavih±re satthu santikameva agama½su. Tattha madhuradhammakatha½ sutv± sabbeva pabbajitv± arahatta½ p±puŗi½su.
Tepi tayo seµµhino pańcahi pańcahi sakaµasatehi sappimadhuph±ŗit±d²ni ceva paµµuŗŗaduk³l±d²ni ca ±d±ya kosambito nikkhamitv± anupubbena s±vatthi½ patv± jetavanas±mante khandh±v±ra½ bandhitv± satthu santika½ gantv± vanditv± paµisanth±ra½ katv± ekamanta½ nis²di½su. Satth± tiŗŗampi sah±y±na½ madhuradhammakatha½ kathesi. Te balavasomanassaj±t± satth±ra½ nimantetv± punadivase mah±d±na½ ada½su, puna nimantetv± punadivaseti eva½ a¹¹ham±sa½ d±na½ datv± “bhante, amh±ka½ janapada½ ±gaman±ya paµińńa½ deth±”ti p±dam³le nipajji½su. Bhagav± “suńń±g±re kho gahapatayo tath±gat± abhiramant²”ti ±ha. “Ett±vat± paµińń± dinn± n±ma hot²”ti gahapatayo sallakkhetv± “dinn± no bhagavat± paµińń±”ti p±dam³le nipajjitv± dasabala½ vanditv± nikkhamitv± antar±magge yojane yojane vih±ra½ k±retv± anupubbena kosambi½ patv± “loke buddho uppanno”ti kathayi½su. Tayo jan± attano attano ±r±me mahanta½ dhanaparicc±ga½ katv± bhagavato vih±re k±r±pesu½. Tattha kukkuµaseµµhin± k±rito kukkuµ±r±mo n±ma ahosi. P±v±rikaseµµhin± ambavane k±rito p±v±rikambavana½ n±ma. Ghositena k±rito ghosit±r±mo n±ma ahosi. Ta½ sandh±ya vutta½ “ghositan±makena kira seµµhin± so k±rito”ti.
Yo abhinikkhamanak±le saddhi½ nikkhanto, yassa ca satth±r± parinibb±nak±le brahmadaŗ¹o ±ŗatto, ta½ sandh±y±ha “bodhisattak±le upaµµh±kachannass±”ti. Imin± ca yo majjhimanik±ye channov±dasutte (ma. ni. 3.389 ±dayo) gil±no hutv± dhammasen±patin± ovadiyam±nopi m±raŗantikavedana½ adhiv±setu½ asakkonto tiŗhena satthena kaŗµhan±¼i½ chinditv± maraŗabhaye uppanne gatinimitte ca upaµµhite attano puthujjanabh±va½ ńatv± sa½viggo vipassana½ paµµhapetv± saŖkh±re pariggaŗhanto arahatta½ patv± samas²s² hutv± parinibb±yi, aya½ so na hot²ti dasseti. P³j±vacanappayoge kattari s±mivacanassapi icchitatt± ±ha “g±massa v± p³jitan”ti. Lakkhaŗa½ panettha saddasatth±nus±rato veditabba½. Ekeko koµµh±soti ekeko bh±go.
