“Seyyath±pi, bhikkhave, puriso paritta½ aggi½ ujj±letuk±mo assa, so tattha all±niceva tiº±ni pakkhipeyya…pe… pa½sukena ca okireyya, bhabbo nu kho so purisota½ paritta½ aggi½ ujj±letunti. “Yasmiñca kho, bhikkhave, samaye l²na½ citta½ hoti, k±lo tasmi½ samaye dhammavicayasambojjhaªgassabh±van±ya, k±lo v²riya…pe… k±lo p²tisambojjhaªgassa bh±van±ya. Ta½ kissahetu? L²na½, bhikkhave, citta½, ta½ etehi dhammehi susamuµµh±paya½ hoti. Seyyath±pi,bhikkhave, puriso paritta½ aggi½ ujj±letuk±mo assa, so tattha sukkh±ni ceva tiº±nipakkhipeyya…pe… na ca pa½sukena okireyya, bhabbo nu kho so puriso ta½ paritta½aggi½ ujj±letunti. Aµµha sa½vegavatth³ni n±ma j±tijar±by±dhimaraº±nicatt±ri, ap±yadukkha½ pañcama½, at²te vaµµam³laka½ dukkha½, an±gate vaµµam³laka½ dukkha½,paccuppanne ±h±rapariyeµµhim³laka½ dukkhanti. Buddhadhammasaªghaguº±nussaraºena cassa pas±da½janeti. Eva½ yasmi½ samaye citta½ sampaha½setabba½, tasmi½ samaye citta½ sampaha½seti.
Katha½ yasmi½ samaye citta½ ajjhupekkhitabba½, tasmi½ samaye citta½ ajjhupekkhati?Yad±ssa eva½ paµipajjato al²na½ anuddhata½ anirass±da½ ±rammaºe samappavatta½ samathav²thippaµipanna½citta½ hoti, tad± tassa paggahaniggahasampaha½sanesu aby±p±ra½ ±pajjati s±rathi viyaca samappavattesu assesu. Eva½ yasmi½ samaye citta½ ajjhupekkhitabba½, tasmi½ samayecitta½ ajjhupekkhati.
Asam±hitapuggalaparivajjan± n±ma nekkhammapaµipada½ an±ru¼hapubb±na½ anekakiccappasut±na½vikkhittahaday±na½ puggal±na½ ±rak± paricc±go. Sam±hitapuggalasevan± n±ma nekkhammapaµipada½paµipann±na½ sam±dhil±bh²na½ puggal±na½ k±lena k±la½ upasaªkamana½. Tadadhimuttat±n±ma sam±dhimuttat±, sam±dhigarusam±dhininnasam±dhipoºasam±dhipabbh±rat±ti attho. Evameta½dasavidha½ appan±kosalla½ samp±detabba½. Ten±ha– “im±ni dasa appan±kosall±niavijahanten±”ti. Tattha yena vidhin± appan±ya kusalo hoti, so dasavidhopi vidhiappan±kosalla½ tannibbatta½ v± ñ±ºa½, evameta½ dasavidha½ appan±kosalla½ samp±dentassapaµiladdhanimittasmi½ appan± uppajjati. Vuttañheta½–
“Evañhi samp±dayato, appan±kosalla½ ima½;
paµiladdhe nimittasmi½, appan± sampavattat²”ti. (Visuddhi. 1.67).
