Tasm± suvaººakaµ±he patiµµhitoyeva bodhi kaµ±heneva saddhi uggantv±himaval±hakagabbha½ pavisitv± aµµh±s²ti veditabba½.

Heµµh± pana bhagavato adhiµµh±nakkama½ dassentena ya½ vutta½–
“Bhagav± kira mah±parinibb±namañce nipanno laªk±d²pe mah±bodhipatiµµh±panatth±ya asokamah±r±j±mah±bodhiggahaºattha½ gamissati, tad± mah±bodhissa dakkhiºas±kh± sayameva chijjitv± suvaººakaµ±hepatiµµh±t³ti adhiµµh±si, idamekamadhiµµh±na½.
“Tattha patiµµh±nak±le ca ‘mah±bodhi himaval±hakagabbha½ pavisitv± tiµµhat³’ti adhiµµh±si,ida½ dutiyamadhiµµh±na½.
“Sattame divase himaval±hakagabbhato oruyha suvaººakaµ±he patiµµhahanto pattehi ca phalehica chabbaººarasmiyo muñcat³ti adhiµµh±si, ida½ tatiyamadhiµµh±nan”ti.

Bodhiva½sepi ca ayameva adhiµµh±nakkamo vutto, tasm± aµµhakath±ya½vutto adhiµµh±nakkamo yath± pubben±para½ na virujjhati, tath± v²ma½sitv± gahetabbo.

Himañca chabbaººara½siyo ca ±vattitv± mah±bodhimeva pavisi½s³ti mah±bodhi½ paµicch±detv±µhita½ himañca bodhito nikkhantachabbaººarasmiyo ca ±vattitv± padakkhiºa½ katv± bodhimevapavisi½su, bodhipaviµµh± viya hutv± antarahit±ti vutta½ hoti. Ettha pana “himañcara½siyo c±”ti ayameva p±µho satasodhitasammate por±ºapotthake sesesu ca sabbapotthakesudissati. Mah±va½sepi ceta½ vutta½–
“At²te tamhi satt±he, sabbe himaval±hak±;
pavisi½su mah±bodhi½, sabb± t± ra½siyopi c±”ti.

Kenaci pana “pañca ra½siyo”ti p±µha½ parikappetv± ya½ vutta½ “sabbadis±hipañca rasmiyo ±vattitv±ti pañcahi phalehi nikkhantatt± pañca, t± pana chabbaºº±v±”ti,ta½ tassa sammohavijambhitamattanti daµµhabba½. Paripuººakhandhas±kh±pas±khapañcaphalapaµimaº¹itotiparipuººakhandhas±kh±pas±kh±hi ceva pañcahi ca phalehi paµimaº¹ito, samantato vibh³sitotiattho. Abhiseka½ datv±ti anotattodakena abhiseka½ datv±. Pubbakattikapav±raº±divaseti assayujam±sassa juºhapakkhapuººamiya½. C±tuddas²-uposathatt±dvisatt±he j±te uposatho sampattoti ±ha “k±¼apakkhassa uposathadivase”ti, assayujam±sak±¼apakkhassac±tuddas²-uposatheti attho.
