Dhaniyavatthuvaŗŗan±

84. Tena samayena buddho bhagav± r±jagahe viharati gijjhak³µe pabbateti tattha r±jagaheti eva½n±make nagare, tańhi mandh±tu-mah±govind±d²hi pariggahitatt± “r±jagahan”ti vuccati. Ańńepettha pak±re vaŗŗayanti. Ki½ tehi! N±mameta½ tassa nagarassa. Ta½ paneta½ buddhak±le ca cakkavattik±le ca nagara½ hoti. Sesak±le suńńa½ hoti yakkhapariggahita½, tesa½ vasantavana½ hutv± tiµµhati. Eva½ gocarag±ma½ dassetv± niv±sanaµµh±nam±ha– gijjhak³µe pabbateti. So ca gijjh± tassa k³µesu vasi½su, gijjhasadis±ni v± tassa k³µ±ni; tasm± gijjhak³µoti vuccat²ti veditabbo.
Sambahul±ti vinayapariy±yena tayo jan± sambahul±ti vuccanti, tato para½ saŖgho. Suttantapariy±yena tayo tayo eva, tato paµµh±ya sambahul±. Idha pana te suttantapariy±yena sambahul±ti veditabb±. Sandiµµh±ti n±tiviss±sik± na da¼hamitt±; tattha tattha saŖgamma diµµhatt± hi te sandiµµh±ti vuccanti. Sambhatt±ti ativiss±sik± da¼hamitt±; te hi suµµhu bhatt± bhajam±n± ekasambhogaparibhog±ti katv± “sambhatt±”ti vuccanti. Isigilipasseti isigili n±ma pabbato, tassa passe. Pubbe kira pańcasatamatt± paccekabuddh± k±sikosal±d²su janapadesu piŗ¹±ya caritv± pacch±bhatta½ tasmi½ pabbate sannipatitv± sam±pattiy± v²tin±menti. Manuss± te pavisanteva passanti na nikkhamante. Tato ±ha½su– “aya½ pabbato ime isayo gilat²”ti. Tadup±d±ya tassa “isigili”tveva samańń± udap±di, tassa passe pabbatap±de.
Tiŗakuµiyo karitv±ti tiŗacchadan± sadv±rabandh± kuµiyo katv±. Vassa½ upagacchantena hi n±lakapaµipada½ paµipannen±pi pańcanna½ chadan±na½ ańńatarena channeyeva sadv±rabandhe sen±sane upagantabba½. Vuttańheta½– “na, bhikkhave, asen±sanikena vassa½ upagantabba½. Yo upagaccheyya, ±patti dukkaµass±”ti (mah±va. 204). Tasm± vassak±le sace sen±sana½ labhati, icceta½ kusala½; no ce labhati, hatthakamma½ pariyesitv±pi k±tabba½. Hatthakamma½ alabhantena s±mampi k±tabba½. Na tveva asen±sanikena vassa½ upagantabba½. Ayamanudhammat±. Tasm± te bhikkh³ tiŗakuµiyo karitv± rattiµµh±nadiv±µµh±n±d²ni paricchinditv± katikavatt±ni ca khandhakavatt±ni ca adhiµµh±ya t²su sikkh±su sikkham±n± vassa½ upagacchi½su.
¾yasm±pi dhaniyoti na kevala½ te ther±va imassa sikkh±padassa ±dikammiko ±yasm± dhaniyopi. Kumbhak±raputtoti kumbhak±rassa putto; tassa hi n±ma½ dhaniyo, pit± kumbhak±ro, tena vutta½– “dhaniyo kumbhak±raputto”ti. Vassa½ upagacch²ti tehi therehi saddhi½ ekaµµh±neyeva tiŗakuµika½ karitv± vassa½ upagacchi. Vassa½vutth±ti purimik±ya upagat± mah±pav±raŗ±ya pav±rit± p±µipadadivasato paµµh±ya “vutthavass±”ti vuccanti. Eva½ vassa½vutth± hutv±.
Tiŗakuµiyo bhinditv±ti na daŗ¹amuggar±d²hi cuŗŗavicuŗŗa½ katv±, vattas²sena pana tiŗańca d±ruvalli-±d²ni ca oropetv±ti attho. Yena hi vih±rapaccante kuµi kat± hoti, tena sace ±v±sik± bhikkh³ honti, te ±pucchitabb±. “Sace ima½ kuµi½ paµijaggitv± koci vasitu½ ussahati, tassa deth±”ti vatv± pakkamitabba½. Yena arańńe v± kat± hoti paµijagganaka½ v± na labhati, tena “ańńesampi paribhoga½ bhavissat²”ti paµis±metv± gantabba½. Te pana bhikkh³ arańńe kuµiyo katv± paµijagganaka½ alabhant± tiŗańca kaµµhańca paµis±metv± saŖgopetv±ti attho. Yath± ca µhapita½ ta½ upacik±hi na khajjati anovassakańca hoti, tath± µhapetv± “ida½ µh±na½ ±gantv± vasituk±m±na½ sabrahmac±r²na½ upak±r±ya bhavissat²”ti gamiyavatta½ p³retv±.
Janapadac±rika½ pakkami½s³ti attano attano citt±nuk³la½ janapada½ agama½su. ¾yasm± pana dhaniyo kumbhak±raputto tattheva vassa½ vas²ti-±di utt±natthameva. Y±vatatiyakanti y±vatatiyav±ra½. Anavayoti anu-avayo, sandhivasena uk±ralopo. Anu anu avayo, ya½ ya½ kumbhak±rehi kattabba½ n±ma atthi, sabbattha an³no paripuŗŗasippoti attho. Saketi attano santake. ¾cariyaketi ±cariyakamme. Kumbhak±rakammeti kumbhak±r±na½ kamme; kumbhak±rehi kattabbakammeti attho. Etena saka½ ±cariyaka½ sar³pato dassita½ hoti. Pariyod±tasippoti parisuddhasippo. Anavayattepi sati ańńehi asadisasippoti vutta½ hoti.
Sabbamattik±mayanti piµµhasaŖgh±µakakav±µas³cighaµikav±tap±nakav±µamatta½ µhapetv± avasesa½ bhittichadaniµµhakathambh±dibheda½ sabba½ gehasambh±ra½ mattik±mayameva katv±ti attho. Tiŗańca kaµµhańca gomayańca saŖka¹¹hitv± ta½ kuµika½ pac²ti ta½ sabbamattik±maya½ katv± p±ŗik±ya gha½sitv± sukkh±petv± telatambamattik±ya parimajjitv± anto ca bahi ca tiŗ±d²hi p³retv± yath± pakk± supakk± hoti, eva½ paci. Eva½ pakk± ca pana s± ahosi kuµik± Abhir³p±ti sur³p±. P±s±dik±ti pas±dajanik±. Lohitik±ti lohitavaŗŗ±. KiŖkaŗikasaddoti kiŖkaŗikaj±lassa saddo. Yath± kira n±n±ratanehi katassa kiŖkaŗikaj±lassa saddo hoti, eva½ tass± kuµik±ya v±tap±nantarik±d²hi paviµµhena v±tena sam±hat±ya saddo ahosi. Etenass± anto ca bahi ca supakkabh±vo dassito hoti. Mah±-aµµhakath±ya½ pana “kiŖkaŗik±”ti ka½sabh±jana½, tasm± yath± abhihatassa ka½sabh±janassa saddo, evamass± v±tappahat±ya saddo ahos²”ti vutta½.
85. Ki½ eta½, bhikkhaveti ettha j±nantova bhagav± kath±samuµµh±panattha½ pucchi. Bhagavato etamattha½ ±rocesunti sabbamattik±may±ya kuµik±ya karaŗabh±va½ ±dito paµµh±ya bhagavato ±rocesu½. Kathańhi n±ma so, bhikkhave…pe… kuµika½ karissat²ti ida½ at²tatthe an±gatavacana½; ak±s²ti vutta½ hoti. Tassa lakkhaŗa½ saddasatthato pariyesitabba½. Na hi n±ma, bhikkhave, tassa moghapurisassa p±ŗesu anudday± anukamp± avihes± bhavissat²ti ettha anudday±ti anurakkhaŗ±; etena mett±pubbabh±ga½ dasseti. Anukamp±ti paradukkhena cittakampan±. Avihes±ti avihi½san±; etehi karuŗ±pubbabh±ga½ dasseti. Ida½ vutta½ hoti– “bhikkhave tassa moghapurisassa pathav²khaŗanacikkhallamaddana-aggid±nesu bah³ khudd±nukhuddake p±ŗe by±b±dhentassa vin±sentassa tesu p±ŗesu mett±karuŗ±na½ pubbabh±gamatt±pi anudday± anukamp± avihes± na hi n±ma bhavissati appamattak±pi n±ma na bhavissat²”ti. M± pacchim± janat± p±ŗesu p±tabyata½ ±pajj²ti pacchimo janasam³ho p±ŗesu p±tabyabh±va½ m± ±pajji. “Buddhak±lepi bhikkh³hi eva½ kata½, ²disesu µh±nesu p±ŗ±tip±ta½ karont±na½ natthi doso”ti mańńitv± imassa diµµh±nugati½ ±pajjam±n± pacchim± janat± m± p±ŗesu p±tabye gha½sitabbe eva½ mańń²ti vutta½ hoti.
Eva½ dhaniya½ garahitv± na ca, bhikkhave, sabbamattik±may± kuµik± k±tabb±ti ±yati½ t±dis±ya kuµik±ya karaŗa½ paµikkhipi; paµikkhipitv± ca “yo kareyya ±patti dukkaµass±”ti sabbamattik±mayakuµik±karaŗe ±patti½ µhapesi. Tasm± yopi pathav²khaŗan±din± p±ŗesu p±tabyata½ an±pajjanto t±disa½ kuµika½ karoti, sopi dukkaµa½ ±pajjati. Pathav²khaŗan±d²hi pana p±ŗesu p±tabyata½ ±pajjanto ya½ ya½ vatthu½ v²tikkamati, tattha tattha vuttameva ±patti½ ±pajjati. Dhaniyattherassa ±dikammikatt± an±patti. Ses±na½ sikkh±pada½ atikkamitv± karont±nampi kata½ labhitv± tattha vasant±nampi dukkaµameva. Dabbasambh±ramissak± pana yath± v± tath± v± miss± hotu, vaµµati. Suddhamattik±may±va na vaµµati. S±pi iµµhak±hi gińjak±vasathasaŖkhepena kat± vaµµati. Eva½ bhanteti kho…pe… ta½ kuµi½ bhindi½s³ti bhagavato vacana½ sampaµicchitv± kaµµhehi ca p±s±ŗehi ca ta½ kuµika½ vikirant± bhindi½su.
Atha kho ±yasm± dhaniyoti-±dimhi aya½ saŖkhepattho– dhaniyo ekapasse div±vih±ra½ nisinno tena saddena ±gantv± te bhikkh³ “kissa me tumhe, ±vuso, kuµi½ bhindath±”ti pucchitv± “bhagav± bhed±pet²”ti sutv± subbacat±ya sampaµicchi.
Kasm± pana bhagav± imin± atimahantena uss±hena attano vasanattha½ kata½ kuµika½ bhed±pesi, nanu etassettha vayakammampi atth²ti? Kińc±pi atthi, atha kho na½ bhagav± akappiy±ti bhind±pesi, titthiyadhajoti bhind±pesi. Ayamettha vinicchayo. Aµµhakath±ya½ pana ańń±nipi k±raŗ±ni vutt±ni– satt±nudday±ya, pattac²varaguttatth±ya, sen±sanab±hullapa-asedhan±y±ti-±d²ni. Tasm± id±nipi yo bhikkhu bahussuto vinayańń³ ańńa½ bhikkhu½ akappiya½ parikkh±ra½ gahetv± vicaranta½ disv± ta½ chind±peyya v± bhind±peyya v± anupavajjo so neva codetabbo na s±retabbo; na ta½ labbh± vattu½ “mama parikkh±ro tay± n±sito, ta½ me deh²”ti.
