Dutiyasaªg²tivij±nanattha½ pana ayamanukkamo veditabbo. Yad± hi–
Saªg±yitv±na saddhamma½, jotayitv± ca sabbadhi;
y±va j²vitapariyanta½, µhatv± pañcasat±pi te.
Kh²º±sav± jut²manto, ther± kassapa-±dayo;
kh²ºasnehapad²p±va, nibb±yi½su an±lay±.
Ath±nukkamena gacchantesu rattindivesu vassasataparinibbute bhagavati ves±lik± vajjiputtak± bhikkh³ ves±liya½ “kappati siªg²loºakappo, kappati dvaªgulakappo, kappati g±mantarakappo, kappati ±v±sakappo, kappati anumatikappo, kappati ±ciººakappo, kappati amathitakappo, kappati ja¼ogi½ p±tu½, kappati adasaka½ nis²dana½, kappati j±tar³parajatan”ti im±ni dasa vatth³ni d²pesu½. Tesa½ susun±gaputto k±¼±soko n±ma r±j± pakkho ahosi.
Tena kho pana samayena ±yasm± yaso k±kaº¹akaputto vajj²su c±rika½ caram±no “ves±lik± kira vajjiputtak± bhikkh³ ves±liya½ dasa vatth³ni d²pent²”ti sutv± “na kho paneta½ patir³pa½ yv±ha½ dasabalassa s±sanavipatti½ sutv± appossukko bhaveyya½. Hand±ha½ adhammav±dino niggahetv± dhamma½ d²pem²”ti cintento yena ves±l² tadavasari. Tatra suda½ ±yasm± yaso k±kaº¹akaputto ves±liya½ viharati mah±vane k³µ±g±ras±l±ya½.
Tena kho pana samayena ves±lik± vajjiputtak± bhikkh³ tadahuposathe ka½sap±ti½ udakena p³retv± majjhe bhikkhusaªghassa µhapetv± ±gat±gate ves±like up±sake eva½ vadanti– “deth±vuso, saªghassa kah±paºampi a¹¹hampi p±dampi m±sakar³pampi, bhavissati saªghassa parikkh±rena karaº²yan”ti sabba½ t±va vattabba½, y±va “im±ya pana vinayasaªg²tiy± satta bhikkhusat±ni an³n±ni anadhik±ni ahesu½, tasm± aya½ dutiyasaªg²ti sattasatik±ti vuccat²”ti.
Eva½ tasmiñca sannip±te dv±dasa bhikkhusatasahass±ni sannipati½su ±yasmat± yasena samuss±hit±. Tesa½ majjhe ±yasmat± revatena puµµhena sabbak±mittherena vinaya½ vissajjentena t±ni dasa vatth³ni vinicchit±ni, adhikaraºa½ v³pasamita½. Atha ther± “puna dhammañca vinayañca saªg±yiss±m±”ti tipiµakadhare pattapaµisambhide sattasate bhikkh³ uccinitv± ves±liya½ v±lik±r±me sannipatitv± mah±kassapattherena saªg±yitasadisameva sabba½ s±sanamala½ sodhetv± puna piµakavasena nik±yavasena aªgavasena dhammakkhandhavasena ca sabba½ dhammañca vinayañca saªg±yi½su. Aya½ saªg²ti aµµhahi m±sehi niµµhit±. Y± loke–
Satehi sattahi kat±, tena sattasat±ti ca;
pubbe kata½ up±d±ya, dutiy±ti ca vuccat²ti.

Yehi therehi saªg²t±, saªg²ti tesu vissut±;
sabbak±m² ca s±¼ho ca, revato khujjasobhito.
Yaso ca s±ºasambh³to, ete saddhivih±rik±;
ther± ±nandatherassa, diµµhapubb± tath±gata½.
Sumano v±sabhag±m² ca, ñeyy± saddhivih±rik±;
dve ime anuruddhassa, diµµhapubb± tath±gata½.
Dutiyo pana saªg²to, yehi therehi saªgaho;
sabbepi pannabh±r± te, katakicc± an±sav±ti.
Aya½ dutiyasaªg²ti.
Evamima½ dutiyasaªg²ti½ saªg±yitv± ther± “uppajjissati nu kho an±gatepi s±sanassa evar³pa½ abbudan”ti olokayam±n± ima½ addasa½su– “ito vassasatassa upari aµµh±rasame vasse p±µaliputte dhamm±soko n±ma r±j± uppajjitv± sakalajambud²pe rajja½ k±ressati. So buddhas±sane pas²ditv± mahanta½ l±bhasakk±ra½ pavattayissati. Tato titthiy± l±bhasakk±ra½ patthayam±n± s±sane pabbajitv± saka½ saka½ diµµhi½ parid²pessanti. Eva½ s±sane mahanta½ abbuda½ uppajjissat²”ti. Atha nesa½ etadahosi– “kinnu kho maya½ etasmi½ abbude uppanne sammukh± bhaviss±ma, na bhaviss±m±”ti. Atha te sabbeva tad± attano asammukhabh±va½ ñatv± “ko nu kho ta½ adhikaraºa½ v³pasametu½ samattho bhavissat²”ti sakala½ manussaloka½ chak±m±vacaradevalokañca olokent± na kañci disv± brahmaloke tissa½ n±ma mah±brahm±na½ addasa½su paritt±yuka½ uparibrahmalok³papattiy± bh±vitamagga½. Disv±na nesa½ etadahosi– “sace maya½ etassa brahmuno manussaloke nibbattanatth±ya uss±ha½ kareyy±ma, addh± esa moggalibr±hmaºassa gehe paµisandhi½ gahessati. Tato ca mantehi palobhito nikkhamitv± pabbajissati. So eva½ pabbajitv± sakala½ buddhavacana½ uggahetv± adhigatapaµisambhido hutv± titthiye madditv± ta½ adhikaraºa½ vinicchitv± s±sana½ paggaºhissat²”ti.
Te brahmaloka½ gantv± tissa½ mah±brahm±na½ etadavocu½– “ito vassasatassa upari aµµh±rasame vasse s±sane mahanta½ abbuda½ uppajjissati. Mayañca sakala½ manussaloka½ chak±m±vacaradevalokañca olokayam±n± kañci s±sana½ paggahetu½ samattha½ adisv± brahmaloka½ vicinant± bhavantameva addas±ma. S±dhu, sappurisa, manussaloke nibbattitv± dasabalassa s±sana½ paggaºhitu½ paµiñña½ deh²”ti.
Eva½ vutte mah±brahm±, “aha½ kira s±sane uppanna½ abbuda½ sodhetv± s±sana½ paggahetu½ samattho bhaviss±m²”ti haµµhapahaµµho udaggudaggo hutv±, “s±dh³”ti paµissuºitv± paµiñña½ ad±si. Ther± brahmaloke ta½ karaº²ya½ t²retv± puna pacc±gami½su.
Tena kho pana samayena siggavatthero ca caº¹avajjitthero ca dvepi navak± honti daharabhikkh³ tipiµakadhar± pattapaµisambhid± kh²º±sav±, te ta½ adhikaraºa½ na samp±puºi½su. Ther± “tumhe, ±vuso, amh±ka½ imasmi½ adhikaraºe no sah±yak± ahuvattha, tena vo ida½ daº¹akamma½ hotu– ‘tisso n±ma brahm± moggalibr±hmaºassa gehe paµisandhi½ gaºhissati, ta½ tumh±ka½ eko n²haritv± pabb±jetu, eko buddhavacana½ uggaºh±pet³”’ti vatv± sabbepi y±vat±yuka½ µhatv±–
Sabbak±mippabhutayo, tepi ther± mahiddhik±;
aggikkhandh±va lokamhi, jalitv± parinibbut±.
Dutiya½ saªgaha½ katv±, visodhetv±na s±sana½;
an±gatepi katv±na, hetu½ saddhammasuddhiy±.
Kh²º±sav± vasippatth±, pabhinnapaµisambhid±;
aniccat±vasa½ ther±, tepi n±ma up±gat±.
Eva½ aniccata½ jammi½, ñatv± durabhisambhava½;
ta½ pattu½ v±yame dh²ro, ya½ nicca½ amata½ padanti.
