Tissoti gaºanaparicchedo Adhis²lasikkh±ti adhika½ uttama½ s²lanti adhis²la½; adhis²lañca ta½ sikkhitabbato sikkh± c±ti adhis²lasikkh±. Esa nayo adhicitta-adhipaññ±sikkh±su.

Tañhi buddhe uppannepi anuppannepi loke pavattati. Uppanne buddhe tasmi½ s²le buddh±pi s±vak±pi mah±jana½ sam±dapenti. Anuppanne buddhe paccekabuddh± ca kammav±dino ca dhammik± samaºabr±hmaº± cakkavatt² ca mah±r±j±no mah±bodhisatt± ca sam±dapenti. S±mampi paº¹it± samaºabr±hmaº± sam±diyanti. Te ta½ kusala½ dhamma½ parip³retv± devesu ca manussesu ca sampatti½ anubhonti. P±timokkhasa½varas²la½ pana “adhis²lan”ti vuccati, tañhi s³riyo viya pajjot±na½ sineru viya pabbat±na½ sabbalokiyas²l±na½ adhikañceva uttamañca, buddhupp±deyeva ca pavattati, na vin± buddhupp±d±. Na hi ta½ paññatti½ uddharitv± añño satto µhapetu½ sakkoti, buddh±yeva pana sabbaso k±yavac²dv±ra-ajjh±c±rasota½ chinditv± tassa tassa v²tikkamassa anucchavika½ ta½ s²lasa½vara½ paññapenti. P±timokkhasa½varatopi ca maggaphalasampayuttameva s²la½ adhis²la½, ta½ pana idha anadhippeta½. Na hi ta½ sam±panno bhikkhu methuna½ dhamma½ paµisevati.
K±m±vacar±ni pana aµµha kusalacitt±ni, lokiya-aµµhasam±patticitt±ni ca ekajjha½ katv± cittamev±ti veditabb±ni. Buddhupp±d±nupp±de cassa pavatti, sam±dapana½ sam±d±nañca s²le vuttanayeneva veditabba½. Vipassan±p±daka½ aµµhasam±patticitta½ pana “adhicittan”ti vuccati. Tañhi adhis²la½ viya s²l±na½ sabbalokiyacitt±na½ adhikañceva uttamañca, buddhupp±deyeva ca hoti, na vin± buddhupp±d±. Tatopi ca maggaphalacittameva adhicitta½, ta½ pana idha anadhippeta½. Na hi ta½ sam±panno bhikkhu methuna½ dhamma½ paµisevati.
“Atthi dinna½, atthi yiµµhan”ti (dha. sa. 1371; vibha. 793; ma. ni. 3.92) -±dinayappavatta½ pana kammassakatañ±ºa½ paññ±, s± hi buddhe uppannepi anuppannepi loke pavattati. Uppanne buddhe tass± paññ±ya buddh±pi buddhas±vak±pi mah±jana½ sam±dapenti. Anuppanne buddhe paccekabuddh± ca kammav±dino ca dhammik± samaºabr±hmaº± cakkavatt² ca mah±r±j±no mah±bodhisatt± ca sam±dapenti. S±mampi paº¹it± satt± sam±diyanti. Tath± hi aªkuro dasavassasahass±ni mah±d±na½ ad±si. Vel±mo, vessantaro, aññe ca bah³ paº¹itamanuss± mah±d±n±ni ada½su. Te ta½ kusala½ dhamma½ parip³retv± devesu ca manussesu ca sampatti½ anubhavi½su. Tilakkhaº±k±raparicchedaka½ pana vipassan±ñ±ºa½ “adhipaññ±”ti vuccati. S± hi adhis²la-adhicitt±ni viya s²lacitt±na½ sabbalokiyapaññ±na½ adhik± ceva uttam± ca, na ca vin± buddhupp±d± loke pavattati. Tatopi ca maggaphalapaññ±va adhipaññ±, s± pana idha anadhippet±. Na hi ta½ sam±panno bhikkhu methuna½ dhamma½ paµisevat²ti.
Tatr±ti t±su t²su sikkh±su. Y±ya½ adhis²lasikkh±ti y± aya½ p±timokkhas²lasaªkh±t± adhis²lasikkh±. Eta½ s±j²va½ n±m±ti eta½ sabbampi bhagavat± vinaye µhapita½ sikkh±pada½, yasm± ettha n±n±desaj±tigott±dibhedabhinn± bhikkh³ saha j²vanti ekaj²vik± sabh±gaj²vik± sabh±gavuttino honti, tasm± “s±j²van”ti vuccati. Tasmi½ sikkhat²ti ta½ sikkh±pada½ cittassa adhikaraºa½ katv± “yath±sikkh±pada½ nu kho sikkh±mi na sikkh±m²”ti cittena olokento sikkhati. Na kevalañc±yametasmi½ s±j²vasaªkh±te sikkh±padeyeva sikkhati, sikkh±yapi sikkhati, “eta½ s±j²va½ n±m±”ti imassa pana anantarassa padassa vasena “tasmi½ sikkhat²”ti vutta½. Kiñc±pi ta½ eva½ vutta½, atha kho ayamettha attho daµµhabbo– tass± ca sikkh±ya sikkha½ parip³rento sikkhati, tasmiñca sikkh±pade av²tikkamanto sikkhat²ti. Tena vuccati s±j²vasam±pannoti idampi anantarassa s±j²vapadasseva vasena vutta½. Yasm± pana so sikkhampi sam±panno, tasm± sikkh±sam±pannotipi atthato veditabbo. Evañhi sati “sikkh±s±j²vasam±panno”ti etassa padassa padabh±janampi paripuººa½ hoti.
