Te hi citte abhininn±mitamatte eva dibbena cakkhun± satte passanti, ±dikammikakulaputt± pana parikamma½ katv±. Tasm± tesa½ vasena parikamma½ vattabba½ siy±. Ta½ pana vuccam±na½ atibh±riya½ vinayanid±na½ karoti; tasm± ta½ na vad±ma. Atthikehi pana visuddhimagge (visuddhi. 2.411) vuttanayena gahetabba½. Idha pana p±¼imeva vaººayiss±ma.

Dibben±ti-±d²su dibbasadisatt± dibba½ Devat±nañhi sucaritakammanibbatta½ pittasemharuhir±d²hi apalibuddha½ upakkilesavinimuttat±ya d³repi ±rammaºasampaµicchanasamattha½ dibba½ pas±dacakkhu hoti. Idañc±pi v²riyabh±van±balanibbatta½ ñ±ºacakkhu t±disamev±ti dibbasadisatt± dibba½, dibbavih±ravasena paµiladdhatt± attan± ca dibbavih±rasannissitatt±pi dibba½, ±lokapariggahena mah±jutikatt±pi dibba½, tirokuµµ±digatar³padassanena mah±gatikatt±pi dibba½. Yo hi cutimattameva passati na upap±ta½, so ucchedadiµµhi½ gaºh±ti. Yo upap±tamattameva passati na cuti½, so navasattap±tubh±vadiµµhi½ gaºh±ti. Yo pana tadubhaya½ passati, so yasm± duvidhampi ta½ diµµhigata½ ativattati, tasm±ssa ta½ dassana½ diµµhivisuddhihetu hoti. Tadubhayañca bhagav± addasa. Teneta½ vutta½– “cut³pap±tadassanena diµµhivisuddhihetutt± visuddhan”ti.
Ek±dasa-upakkilesavirahato v± visuddha½. Bhagavato hi ek±dasapakkilesavirahita½ dibbacakkhu. Yath±ha– “so kho aha½, anuruddha, ‘vicikicch± cittassa upakkileso’ti iti viditv± vicikiccha½ cittassa upakkilesa½ pajahi½. Amanasik±ro…pe… thinamiddha½… chambhitatta½… uppila½… duµµhulla½… acc±raddhav²riya½… atil²nav²riya½… abhijapp±… n±nattasaññ±… ‘atinijjh±yitatta½ r³p±na½ cittassa upakkileso’ti iti viditv± atinijjh±yitatta½ r³p±na½ cittassa upakkilesa½ pajahi½. So kho aha½, anuruddha, appamatto ±t±p² pahitatto viharanto obh±sañhi kho sañj±n±mi, na ca r³p±ni pass±mi. R³p±ni hi kho pass±mi, na ca obh±sa½ sañj±n±m²”ti (ma. ni. 3.242-243) evam±di. Tadeva½ ek±dasupakkilesavirahato visuddha½.
Manuss³pac±ra½ atikkamitv± r³padassanena atikkantam±nusaka½; m±nusaka½ v± ma½sacakkhu½ atikkantatt± atikkantam±nusakanti veditabba½. Tena dibbena cakkhun± visuddhena atikkantam±nusakena.
Satte pass±m²ti manussama½sacakkhun± viya satte pass±mi dakkh±mi olokemi. Cavam±ne upapajjam±neti ettha cutikkhaºe v± upapattikkhaºe v± dibbacakkhun± daµµhu½ na sakk±, ye pana ±sannacutik± id±ni cavissanti te cavam±n±. Ye ca gahitapaµisandhik± sampatinibbatt± v±, te upapajjam±n±ti adhippet±. Te evar³pe cavam±ne upapajjam±ne ca pass±m²ti dasseti. H²neti mohanissandayuttatt± h²n±na½ j±tikulabhog±d²na½ vasena h²¼ite oh²¼ite uññ±te avaññ±te. Paº²teti amohanissandayuttatt± tabbipar²te. Suvaººeti adosanissandayuttatt± iµµhakantaman±pavaººayutte. Dubbaººeti dosanissandayuttatt± aniµµh±kanta-aman±pavaººayutte; abhir³pe vir³petipi attho. Sugateti sugatigate, alobhanissandayuttatt± v± a¹¹he mahaddhane. Duggateti duggatigate, lobhanissandayuttatt± v± dalidde appannap±ne. Yath±kamm³pageti ya½ ya½ kamma½ upacita½ tena tena upagate. Tattha purimehi “cavam±ne”ti-±d²hi dibbacakkhukicca½ vutta½; imin± pana padena yath±kamm³pagañ±ºakicca½.
Tassa ca ñ±ºassa ayamuppattikkamo– so heµµh± niray±bhimukha½ ±loka½ va¹¹hetv± nerayikasatte passati mahanta½ dukkhamanubhavam±ne, ta½ dassana½ dibbacakkhukiccameva. So eva½ manasi karoti– “kinnu kho kamma½ katv± ime satt± eta½ dukkhamanubhavant²”ti? Athassa “ida½ n±ma katv±”ti ta½ kamm±rammaºa½ ñ±ºa½ uppajjati. Tath± upari devalok±bhimukha½ ±loka½ va¹¹hetv± nandanavana-missakavana-ph±rusakavan±d²su satte passati mah±sampatti½ anubhavam±ne. Tampi dassana½ dibbacakkhukiccameva. So eva½ manasi karoti– “kinnu kho kamma½ katv± ime satt± eta½ sampatti½ anubhavant²”ti? Athassa “ida½ n±ma katv±”ti ta½kamm±rammaºa½ ñ±ºa½ uppajjati. Ida½ yath±kamm³pagañ±ºa½ n±ma. Imassa visu½ parikamma½ n±ma natthi. Yath± cimassa, eva½ an±gata½sañ±ºassapi. Dibbacakkhup±dak±neva hi im±ni dibbacakkhun± saheva ijjhanti.
K±yaduccariten±ti-±d²su duµµhu carita½ duµµha½ v± carita½ kilesap³tikatt±ti duccarita½; k±yena duccarita½, k±yato v± uppanna½ duccaritanti k±yaduccarita½. Eva½ vac²manoduccarit±nipi daµµhabb±ni. Samann±gat±ti samaªg²bh³t±. Ariy±na½ upav±dak±ti buddha-paccekabuddha-buddhas±vak±na½ ariy±na½ antamaso gihisot±pann±nampi anatthak±m± hutv± antimavatthun± v± guºaparidha½sanena v± upav±dak±; akkosak±, garahak±ti vutta½ hoti. Tattha “natthi imesa½ samaºadhammo, assamaº± ete”ti vadanto antimavatthun± upavadati. “Natthi imesa½ jh±na½ v± vimokkho v± maggo v± phala½ v±”ti vadanto guºaparidha½sanena upavadat²ti veditabbo. So ca j±na½ v± upavadeyya aj±na½ v±, ubhayath±pi ariy³pav±dova hoti. Bh±riya½ kamma½ sagg±varaºa½ magg±varaºañca, satekiccha½ pana hoti. Tassa ca ±vibh±vattha½ ida½ vatthumud±haranti–
“Aññatarasmi½ kira g±me eko thero ca daharabhikkhu ca piº¹±ya caranti. Te paµhamaghareyeva u¼uªkamatta½ uºhay±gu½ labhi½su. Therassa ca kucchiv±to atthi. So cintesi– ‘aya½ y±gu mayha½ sapp±y±, y±va na s²tal± hoti t±va na½ piv±m²’ti. So manussehi umm±ratth±ya ±haµe d±rukkhandhe nis²ditv± ta½ pivi. Itaro ta½ jigucchi– ‘aticch±to vat±ya½ mahallako amh±ka½ lajjitabbaka½ ak±s²’ti. Thero g±me caritv± vih±ra½ gantv± daharabhikkhu½ ±ha– ‘atthi te, ±vuso, imasmi½ s±sane patiµµh±’ti? ‘¾ma, bhante, sot±panno ahan’ti. ‘Tena h±vuso, uparimaggatth±ya v±y±ma½ m± ak±si, kh²º±savo tay± upavadito’ti. So ta½ kham±pesi. Tenassa ta½ p±katika½ ahosi”. Tasm± yo aññopi ariya½ upavadati, tena gantv± sace attan± vu¹¹hataro hoti, “aha½ ±yasmanta½ idañcidañca avaca½, ta½ me kham±h²”ti kham±petabbo. Sace navakataro hoti vanditv± ukkuµika½ nis²ditv± añjali½ paggahetv± “aha½ bhante tumhe idañcidañca avaca½, ta½ me khamath±”ti kham±petabbo. Sace so nakkhamati dis±pakkanto v± hoti, ye tasmi½ vih±re bhikkh³ vasanti tesa½ santika½ gantv± sace attan± vu¹¹hataro hoti µhitakeneva, sace navakataro ukkuµika½ nis²ditv± añjali½ paggahetv± “aha½, bhante, asuka½ n±ma ±yasmanta½ idañcidañca avaca½, khamatu me so ±yasm±”ti eva½ vadantena kham±petabbo. Sace so parinibbuto hoti, parinibbutamañcaµµh±na½ gantv± y±va sivathika½ gantv±pi kham±petabbo. Eva½ kate sagg±varaºañca magg±varaºañca na hoti, p±katikameva hoti.
Micch±diµµhik±ti vipar²tadassan±. Micch±diµµhikammasam±d±n±ti micch±diµµhivasena sam±dinnan±n±vidhakamm±, ye ca micch±diµµhim³lakesu k±yakamm±d²su aññepi sam±dapenti. Tattha vac²duccaritaggahaºeneva ariy³pav±de, manoduccaritaggahaºena ca micch±diµµhiy± saªgahit±yapi imesa½ dvinna½ puna vacana½ mah±s±vajjabh±vadassanatthanti veditabba½. Mah±s±vajjo hi ariy³pav±do ±nantariyasadiso. Yath±ha– “seyyath±pi, s±riputta, bhikkhu s²lasampanno sam±dhisampanno paññ±sampanno diµµheva dhamme añña½ ±r±dheyya; eva½sampadamida½, s±riputta, vad±mi ta½ v±ca½ appah±ya ta½ citta½ appah±ya ta½ diµµhi½ appaµinissajjitv± yath±bhata½ nikkhitto, eva½ niraye”ti (ma. ni. 1.149).
Micch±diµµhito ca mah±s±vajjatara½ n±ma añña½ natthi. Yath±ha– “n±ha½, bhikkhave, añña½ ekadhammampi samanupass±mi, eva½ mah±s±vajjatara½, yathayida½, micch±diµµhi. Micch±diµµhiparam±ni, bhikkhave, vajj±n²”ti (a. ni. 1.310).
K±yassa bhed±ti up±dinnakkhandhaparicc±g±. Para½ maraº±ti tadanantara½ abhinibbattakkhandhaggahaºe. Athav± k±yassa bhed±ti j²vitindriyassupacched±. Para½ maraº±ti cuticittato uddha½. Ap±yanti evam±di sabba½ nirayavevacana½. Nirayo hi saggamokkhahetubh³t± puññasammat± ay± apetatt±, sukh±na½ v± ±yassa abh±v± ap±yo. Dukkhassa gati paµisaraºanti duggati; dosabahulat±ya v± duµµhena kammun± nibbatt± gat²ti duggati. Vivas± nipatanti ettha dukkaµak±rinoti vinip±to; vinassant± v± ettha nipatanti sambhijjam±naªgapaccaªg±ti vinip±to. Natthi ettha ass±dasaññito ayoti nirayo.
Atha v± ap±yaggahaºena tiracch±nayoni½ d²peti. Tiracch±nayoni hi ap±yo, sugatiy± apetatt±; na duggati, mahesakkh±na½ n±gar±j±d²na½ sambhavato. Duggatiggahaºena pettivisaya½ d²peti. So hi ap±yo ceva duggati ca sugatito apetatt±, dukkhassa ca gatibh³tatt±; na tu vinip±to asurasadisa½ avinipatitatt±. Petamahiddhik±nañhi vim±n±nipi nibbattanti. Vinip±taggahaºena asurak±ya½ d²peti. So hi yath±vuttenatthena ap±yo ceva duggati ca sabbasamussayehi ca vinipatitatt± vinip±toti vuccati. Nirayaggahaºena av²ci-±di-anekappak±ra½ nirayameva d²peti. Upapann±ti upagat±, tattha abhinibbatt±ti adhipp±yo. Vuttavipariy±yena sukkapakkho veditabbo.
Aya½ pana viseso– ettha sugatiggahaºena manussagatipi saªgayhati. Saggaggahaºena devagatiyeva. Tattha sundar± gat²ti sugati. R³p±divisayehi suµµhu aggoti saggo. So sabbopi lujjanapalujjanaµµhena lokoti aya½ vacanattho. Vijj±ti dibbacakkhuñ±ºavijj±. Avijj±ti satt±na½ cutipaµisandhipaµicch±dik± avijj±. Sesa½ vuttanayameva. Ayameva hettha viseso– yath± pubbeniv±sakath±ya½ “pubbeniv±s±nussatiñ±ºamukhatuº¹akena pubbenivutthakkhandhapa-acch±daka½ avijjaº¹akosa½ pad±letv±”ti vutta½; evamidha “cut³pap±tañ±ºamukhatuº¹akena cut³pap±tapaµicch±daka½ avijjaº¹akosa½ pad±letv±”ti vattabbanti.
