K²µ±girisminti eva½n±make janapade. ¾v±sik± hont²ti ettha ±v±so etesa½ atth²ti ±v±sik±. “¾v±so”ti vih±ro vuccati. So yesa½ ±yatto navakammakaraŗapur±ŗapaµisaŖkharaŗ±dibh±rah±rat±ya, te ±v±sik±. Ye pana kevala½ vih±re vasanti, te nev±sik±ti vuccanti. Ime ±v±sik± ahesu½. Alajjino p±pabhikkh³ti nillajj± l±makabhikkh³, te hi chabbaggiy±na½ jeµµhakachabbaggiy±.
S±vatthiya½ kira cha jan± sah±yak± “kasikamm±d²ni dukkar±ni, handa maya½ samm± pabbaj±ma! Pabbajantehi ca uppanne kicce nittharaŗakaµµh±ne pabbajitu½ vaµµat²”ti sammantayitv± dvinna½ aggas±vak±na½ santike pabbaji½su. Te pańcavass± hutv± m±tika½ paguŗa½ katv± mantayi½su “janapado n±ma kad±ci subhikkho hoti kad±ci dubbhikkho, maya½ m± ekaµµh±ne vasimha, t²su µh±nesu vas±m±”ti. Tato paŗ¹ukalohitake ±ha½su– “±vuso, s±vatthi n±ma sattapańń±s±ya kulasatasahassehi ajjh±vutth±, as²tig±masahassapaµimaŗ¹it±na½ tiyojanasatik±na½ dvinna½ k±sikosalaraµµh±na½ ±yamukhabh³t±, tatra tumhe dhuraµµh±neyeva pariveŗ±ni k±retv± ambapanasan±¼iker±d²ni ropetv± pupphehi ca phalehi ca kul±ni saŖgaŗhant± kulad±rake pabb±jetv± parisa½ va¹¹heth±”ti.

M±l±vacchanti taruŗapuppharukkha½, taruŗak± hi puppharukkh±pi pupphagacch±pi m±l±vacch± tveva vuccanti, te ca anekappak±ra½ m±l±vaccha½ sayampi ropenti, ańńenapi rop±penti, tena vutta½– “m±l±vaccha½ ropentipi rop±pentip²”ti. Sińcant²ti sayameva udakena sińcanti. Sińc±pent²ti ańńenapi sińc±penti.
Ettha pana akappiyavoh±ro kappiyavoh±ro pariy±yo obh±so nimittakammanti im±ni pańca j±nitabb±ni. Tattha akappiyavoh±ro n±ma allaharit±na½ koµµana½ koµµ±pana½, ±v±µassa khaŗana½ khaŗ±pana½, m±l±vacchassa ropana½ rop±pana½, ±¼iy± bandhana½ bandh±pana½, udakassa secana½ sec±pana½, m±tik±ya sammukhakaraŗa½ kappiya-udakasińcana½ hatthamukhap±dadhovananh±nodakasińcananti. Kappiyavoh±ro n±ma “ima½ rukkha½ j±na, ima½ ±v±µa½ j±na, ima½ m±l±vaccha½ j±na, ettha udaka½ j±n±”ti vacana½ sukkham±tik±ya ujukaraŗańca. Pariy±yo n±ma “paŗ¹itena n±ma m±l±vacch±dayo rop±petabb± nacirasseva upak±r±ya sa½vattant²”ti-±divacana½. Obh±so n±ma kud±lakhaŗitt±d²ni ca m±l±vacche ca gahetv± µh±na½, eva½ µhitańhi s±maŗer±dayo disv± thero k±r±petuk±moti gantv± karonti. Nimittakamma½ n±ma kud±la-khaŗitti-v±si-pharasu-udakabh±jan±ni ±haritv± sam²pe µhapana½.
Im±ni pańcapi kulasaŖgahatth±ya ropane na vaµµanti, phalaparibhogatth±ya kappiy±kappiyavoh±radvayameva na vaµµati, itarattaya½ vaµµati. Mah±paccariya½ pana “kappiyavoh±ropi vaµµati. Yańca attano paribhogatth±ya vaµµati, ta½ ańńapuggalassa v± saŖghassa v± cetiyassa v± atth±yapi vaµµat²”ti vutta½.
¾r±matth±ya pana vanatth±yaca ch±yatth±ya ca akappiyavoh±ramattameva na ca vaµµati, sesa½ vaµµati, na kevalańca sesa½ ya½kińci m±tikampi uju½ k±tu½ kappiya-udaka½ sińcitu½ nh±nakoµµhaka½ katv± nh±yitu½ hatthap±damukhadhovanudak±ni ca tattha cha¹¹etumpi vaµµati. Mah±paccariya½ pana kurundiyańca “kappiyapathaviya½ saya½ ropetumpi vaµµat²”ti vutta½. ¾r±m±di-atth±ya pana ropitassa v± rop±pitassa v± phala½ paribhuńjitumpi vaµµati.
Ocinana-ocin±pane pakatiy±pi p±cittiya½. Kulad³sanatth±ya pana p±cittiyańceva dukkaµańca. Ganthan±d²su ca uracchadapariyos±nesu kulad³sanatth±ya ańńatth±ya v± karontassa dukkaµameva Kasm±? An±c±ratt±, “p±pasam±c±ro”ti ettha vuttap±pasam±c±ratt± ca. ¾r±m±di-atth±ya rukkharopane viya vatthup³janatth±ya kasm± na an±patt²ti ce? An±pattiyeva. Yath± hi tattha kappiyavoh±rena pariy±y±d²hi ca an±patti tath± vatthup³jatth±yapi an±pattiyeva.
Nanu ca tattha “kappiyapathaviya½ saya½ ropetumpi vaµµat²”ti vuttanti? Vutta½, na pana mah±-aµµhakath±ya½. Ath±pi mańńeyy±si itar±su vuttampi pam±ŗa½. Mah±-aµµhakath±yańca kappiya-udakasecana½ vutta½, ta½ kathanti? Tampi na virujjhati. Tatra hi avisesena “rukkha½ ropentipi rop±pentipi, sińcantipi sińc±pentip²”ti vattabbe “m±l±vacchan”ti vadanto ń±peti “kulasaŖgahatth±ya pupphaphal³pagameva sandh±yeta½ vutta½, ańńatra pana pariy±yo atth²”ti. Tasm± tattha pariy±ya½, idha ca pariy±y±bh±va½ ńatv± ya½ aµµhakath±su vutta½, ta½ suvuttameva. Vuttańceta½–
“Buddhena dhammo vinayo ca vutto;
yo tassa puttehi tatheva ń±to;
so yehi tesa½ matimaccajant±;
yasm± pure aµµhakath± aka½su.
“Tasm± hi ya½ aµµhakath±su vutta½;
ta½ vajjayitv±na pam±dalekha½;
sabbampi sikkh±su sag±rav±na½;
yasm± pam±ŗa½ idha paŗ¹it±nan”ti.
Sabba½ vuttanayeneva veditabba½. Tattha siy± yadi vatthup³janatth±yapi ganth±n±d²su ±patti, haraŗ±d²su kasm± an±patt²ti? Kulitth²-±d²na½ atth±ya haraŗato haraŗ±dhik±re hi visesetv± te kulitth²nanti-±di vutta½, tasm± buddh±d²na½ atth±ya harantassa an±patti.
Tattha ekatovaŗµikanti pupph±na½ vaŗµe ekato katv± katam±la½. Ubhatovaŗµikanti ubhohi passehi pupphavaŗµe katv± katam±la½. Mańjarikanti-±d²su pana mańjar² viya kat± pupphavikati mańjarik±ti vuccati. Vidh³tik±ti s³ciy± v± sal±k±ya v± sinduv±rapupph±d²ni vijjhitv± kat±. Vaµa½sakoti vata½sako. ¾ve¼±ti kaŗŗik±. Uracchadoti h±rasadisa½ ure µhapanakapupphad±ma½. Aya½ t±va ettha padavaŗŗan±.
Aya½ pana ±dito paµµh±ya vitth±rena ±pattivinicchayo. Kulad³sanatth±ya akappiyapathaviya½ m±l±vaccha½ ropentassa p±cittiyańceva dukkaµańca, tath± akappiyavoh±rena rop±pentassa. Kappiyapathaviya½ ropanepi rop±panepi dukkaµameva. Ubhayatth±pi saki½ ±ŗattiy± bahunnampi ropane ekameva sap±cittiyadukkaµa½ v± suddhadukkaµa½ v± hoti. Paribhogatth±ya hi kappiyabh³miya½ v± akappiyabh³miya½ v± kappiyavoh±rena rop±pane an±patti. ¾r±m±di-atth±yapi akappiyapathaviya½ ropentassa v± akappiyavacanena rop±pentassa v± p±cittiya½. Aya½ pana nayo mah±-aµµhakath±ya½ na suµµhu vibhatto, mah±paccariya½ vibhattoti.
Sińcanasińc±pane pana akappiya-udakena sabbattha p±cittiya½, kulad³sanaparibhogatth±ya dukkaµampi. Kappiyena tesa½yeva dvinnamatth±ya dukkaµa½. Paribhogatth±ya cettha kappiyavoh±rena sińc±pane an±patti. ¾pattiµµh±ne pana dh±r±vacchedavasena payogabahulat±ya ±pattibahulat± veditabb±.
Kulad³sanatth±ya ocinane pupphagaŗan±ya dukkaµap±cittiy±ni ańńattha p±cittiy±neva. Bah³ni pana pupph±ni ekapayogena ocinanto payogavasena k±retabbo. Ocin±pane kulad³sanatth±ya saki½ ±ŗatto bahumpi ocinati, ekameva sap±cittiyadukkaµa½, ańńatra p±cittiyameva.
Ganthan±d²su sabb±pi cha pupphavikatiyo veditabb±– ganthima½, gopphima½, vedhima½, veµhima½, p³rima½, v±yimanti. Tattha “ganthima½” n±ma sadaŗ¹akesu v± uppalapadum±d²su ańńesu v± d²ghavaŗµesu pupphesu daµµhabba½. Daŗ¹akena daŗ¹aka½ vaŗµena v± vaŗµa½ ganthetv± katameva hi ganthima½. Ta½ bhikkhussa v± bhikkhuniy± v± k±tumpi akappiyavacanena k±r±petumpi na vaµµati. Eva½ j±na, eva½ kate sobheyya, yath± et±ni pupph±ni na vikiriyanti tath± karoh²ti-±din± pana kappiyavacanena k±retu½ vaµµati.
“Gopphima½” n±ma suttena v± v±k±d²hi v± vassikapupph±d²na½ ekatovaŗµika-ubhatovaŗµikam±l±vasena gopphana½, v±ka½ v± rajju½ v± diguŗa½ katv± tattha avaŗµak±ni n²papupph±d²ni pavesetv± paµip±µiy± bandhanti, etampi gopphimameva. Sabba½ purimanayeneva na vaµµati.
“Vedhima½” n±ma savaŗµak±ni vassikapupph±d²ni vaŗµesu, avaŗµak±ni v± vakulapupph±d²ni antochidde s³cit±lah²r±d²hi vinivijjhitv± ±vunanti, eta½ vedhima½ n±ma, tampi purimanayeneva na vaµµati. Keci pana kadalikkhandhamhi kaŗµake v± t±lah²r±d²ni v± pavesetv± tattha pupph±ni vijjhitv± µhapenti, keci kaŗµakas±kh±su, keci pupphacchattapupphak³µ±g±rakaraŗattha½ chatte ca bhittiyańca pavesetv± µhapitakaŗµakesu, keci dhamm±sanavit±ne baddhakaŗµakesu, keci kaŗik±rapupph±d²ni sal±k±hi vijjhanti, chatt±dhichatta½ viya ca karonti, ta½ ati-o¼±rikameva Pupphavijjhanattha½ pana dhamm±sanavit±ne kaŗµakampi bandhitu½ kaŗµak±d²hi v± ekapupphampi vijjhitu½ puppheyeva v± puppha½ pavesetu½ na vaµµati. J±lavit±navedika-n±gadantaka pupphapaµicchakat±lapaŗŗagu¼ak±d²na½ pana chiddesu asokapiŗ¹iy± v± antaresu pupph±ni pavesetu½ na doso. Eta½ vedhima½ n±ma na hoti. Dhammarajjuyampi eseva nayo.
“Veµhima½” n±ma pupphad±mapupphahatthakesu daµµhabba½. Keci hi matthakad±ma½ karont± heµµh± ghaµak±k±ra½ dassetu½ pupphehi veµhenti, keci aµµhaµµha v± dasa dasa v± uppalapupph±d²ni suttena v± v±kena v± daŗ¹akesu bandhitv± uppalahatthake v± padumahatthake v± karonti, ta½ sabba½ purimanayeneva na vaµµati. S±maŗerehi upp±µetv± thale µhapita-uppal±d²ni k±s±vena bhaŗ¹ikampi bandhitu½ na vaµµati. Tesa½yeva pana v±kena v± daŗ¹akena v± bandhitu½ a½sabhaŗ¹ika½ v± k±tu½ vaµµati. A½sabhaŗ¹ik± n±ma khandhe µhapitak±s±vassa ubho ante ±haritv± bhaŗ¹ika½ katv± tasmi½ pasibbake viya pupph±ni pakkhipanti, aya½ vuccati a½sabhaŗ¹ik±, eta½ k±tu½ vaµµati. Daŗ¹akehi paduminipaŗŗa½ vijjhitv± uppal±d²ni paŗŗena veµhetv± gaŗhanti, tatr±pi pupph±na½ upari paduminipaŗŗameva bandhitu½ vaµµati. Heµµh± daŗ¹aka½ pana bandhitu½ na vaµµati.
“P³rima½” n±ma m±l±guŗe ca pupphapaµe ca daµµhabba½. Yo hi m±l±guŗena cetiya½ v± bodhi½ v± vedika½ v± parikkhipanto puna ±netv± p³rimaµh±na½ atikk±meti, ett±vat±pi p³rima½ n±ma hoti. Ko pana v±do anekakkhattu½ parikkhipantassa, n±gadanta-kantarehi pavesetv± haranto olambaka½ katv± puna n±gadantaka½ parikkhipati, etampi p³rima½ n±ma. N±gadantake pana pupphavalaya½ pavesetu½ vaµµati. M±l±guŗehi pupphapaµa½ karonti. Tatr±pi ekameva m±l±guŗa½ haritu½ vaµµati. Puna pacc±harato p³rimameva hoti, ta½ sabba½ purimanayeneva na vaµµati. M±l±guŗehi pana bah³hipi kata½ pupphad±ma½ labhitv± ±sanamatthak±d²su bandhitu½ vaµµati. Atid²gha½ pana m±l±guŗa½ ekav±ra½ haritv± v± parikkhipitv± v± puna ańńassa bhikkhuno d±tu½ vaµµati.
