Sace te uddharitv± v± denti, uddharitv± nikkhitte attano thambhe v± denti, vaµµati. Ath±pi vadanti– “amh±ka½, bhante, hatthakamma½ k±tu½ khaŗo natthi, ańńa½ uddhar±petha, tassa m³la½ dass±m±”ti uddhar±petv± “p±s±ŗatthambhe uddhaµamanuss±na½ m³la½ deth±”ti vattu½ vaµµati. Etenevup±yena p±s±dad±r³na½ atth±ya va¹¹hak²na½ santika½ iµµhakatth±ya iµµhakava¹¹hak²na½ chadanatth±ya gehacch±dak±na½ cittakammatth±ya cittak±r±nanti yena yena attho hoti, tassa tassa atth±ya tesa½ tesa½ sippak±rak±na½ santika½ gantv± hatthakamma½ y±citu½ vaµµati. Hatthakammavasena patta½ k±retv± tatheva p±cetv± navapakkassa pattassa puńchanatelatth±ya antog±ma½ paviµµhena “bhikkh±ya ±gato”ti sallakkhetv± y±guy± v± bhatte v± ±n²te hatthena patto pidh±tabbo. Sace up±sik± “ki½, bhante”ti pucchati, “navapakko patto puńchanatelena attho”ti vattabba½. Sace s± “dehi, bhante”ti patta½ gahetv± telena puńchitv± y±guy± v± bhattassa v± p³retv± deti, vińńatti n±ma na hoti, gahetu½ vaµµat²ti.
Bhikkh³ pageva piŗ¹±ya caritv± ±sanas±la½ gantv± ±sana½ apassant± tiµµhanti. Tatra ce up±sak± bhikkh³ µhite disv± sayameva ±san±ni ±har±penti, nis²ditv± gacchantehi ±pucchitv± gantabba½. Pucimandas±kh±d²ni ±haranti, kappiya½ k±r±petv± paµiggahetabb±ni. ¾sanas±l±ya udakabh±jana½ ritta½ hoti, “dhamakaraŗa½ gaŗh±”ti na vattabba½. Dhamakarakańhi rittabh±jane pakkhipanto bhindeyya “nadi½ v± ta¼±ka½ v± gantv± pana udaka½ ±har±”ti vattu½ vaµµati. “Gehato ±har±”ti neva vattu½ vaµµati, na ±haµa½ paribhuńjitabba½. ¾sanas±l±ya½ v± arańńake v± bhattakicca½ karontehi tatthaj±taka½ anajjh±vutthaka½ ya½kińci uttaribhaŖg±raha½ patta½ v± phala½ v± sace kińci kamma½ karonta½ ±har±peti, hatthakammavasena ±har±petv± paribhuńjitu½ vaµµati. Goŗa½ pana ańń±taka-appav±ritaµµh±nato ±har±petu½ na vaµµati, ±har±pentassa dukkaµa½. ѱtipav±ritaµµh±natopi m³lacchejj±ya y±citu½ na vaµµati, t±vak±likanayena sabbattha vaµµati. Eva½ ±har±pitańca goŗa½ rakkhitv± jaggitv± s±mik± paµicch±petabb±. Sacassa p±do v± siŖga½ v± bhijjati v± nassati v± s±mik± ce sampaµicchanti, icceta½ kusala½. No ce sampaµicchanti, g²v± hoti. Sace “tumh±ka½yeva dem±”ti vadanti na sampaµicchitabba½. “Vih±rassa dem±”ti vutte pana “±r±mik±na½ ±cikkhatha jagganatth±y±”ti vattabba½.
“Sakaµa½ deth±”tipi ańń±taka-appav±rite vattu½ na vaµµati, vińńatti-eva hoti dukkaµa½ ±pajjati. ѱtipav±ritaµµh±ne pana vaµµati, t±vak±lika½ vaµµati kamma½ katv± puna d±tabba½. Sace nemiy±d²ni bhijjanti p±katik±ni katv± d±tabba½. Naµµhe g²v± hoti. “Tumh±kameva dem±”ti vutte d±rubhaŗ¹a½ n±ma sampaµicchitu½ vaµµati. Esa nayo v±sipharasukuµh±r²kud±lanikh±danesu. Valli-±d²su ca parapariggahitesu. Garubhaŗ¹appahonakesuyeva ca valli-±d²su vińńatti hoti, na tato ora½.
Anajjh±vutthaka½ pana ya½kińci ±har±petu½ vaµµati. Rakkhitagopitaµµh±neyeva hi vińńatti n±ma vuccati. S± dv²su paccayesu sabbena sabba½ na vaµµati, sen±sanapaccaye pana “±hara deh²”ti vińńattimattameva na vaµµati parikathobh±sanimittakamm±ni vaµµanti. Tattha uposath±g±ra½ v± bhojanas±la½ v± ańńa½ v± ya½kińci sen±sana½ icchato “imasmi½ vata ok±se evar³pa½ sen±sana½ k±tu½ vaµµat²”ti v± “yuttan”ti v± “anur³pan”ti v±ti-±din± nayena vacana½ parikath± n±ma. “Up±sak± tumhe kuhi½ vasath±”ti? “P±s±de, bhante”ti. “Ki½ bhikkh³na½ pana up±sak± p±s±do na vaµµat²”ti evam±divacana½ obh±so n±ma. Uttasantip²ti ahi½ viya disv± sahas± tasitv± ukkamanti. Pal±yantip²ti d³ratova yena v± tena v± pal±yanti. Ańńenapi gacchant²ti ya½ magga½ paµipann± ta½ pah±ya nivattitv± v±ma½ v± dakkhiŗa½ v± gahetv± gacchanti, dv±rampi thakenti.

Bh³tapubba½ bhikkhaveti iti bhagav± te bhikkh³ garahitv± tadanur³pańca dhammi½ katha½ katv± punapi vińńattiy± dosa½ p±kaµa½ kurum±no imin± “bh³tapubba½ bhikkhave”ti-±din± nayena t²ŗi vatth³ni dassesi. Tattha maŗikaŗµhoti so kira n±gar±j± sabbak±madada½ mahaggha½ maŗi½ kaŗµhe pilandhitv± carati, tasm± “maŗikaŗµho” tveva pańń±yittha. Uparimuddhani mahanta½ phaŗa½ karitv± aµµh±s²ti so kira tesa½ dvinna½ is²na½ kaniµµho isi mett±vih±r² ahosi, tasm± n±gar±j± nadito uttaritv± devavaŗŗa½ nimminitv± tassa santike nis²ditv± sammodan²ya½ katha½ katv± ta½ devavaŗŗa½ pah±ya sakavaŗŗameva upagantv± ta½ isi½ parikkhipitv± pasann±k±ra½ karonto uparimuddhani mahanta½ phaŗa½ karitv± chatta½ viya dh±rayam±no muhutta½ µhatv± pakkamati, tena vutta½ “uparimuddhani mahanta½ phaŗa½ karitv± aµµh±s²”ti. KimaŖga½ pana manussabh³t±nanti manussabh³t±na½ aman±p±ti kimevettha vattabba½.
345. SakuŗasaŖghassa saddena ubb±¼hoti so kira sakuŗasaŖgho paµhamay±mańca pacchimay±mańca nirantara½ saddameva karoti, so bhikkhu tena saddena p²¼ito hutv± bhagavato santika½ agam±si. Ten±ha– “yen±ha½ tenupasaŖkam²”ti.
Kuto ca tva½ bhikkhu ±gacchas²ti ettha nisinno so bhikkhu na ±gacchati vattam±nasam²pe pana eva½ vattu½ labbhati. Ten±ha– “kuto ca tva½ bhikkhu ±gacchas²”ti, kuto ±gatos²ti attho. Tato aha½ bhagav± ±gacch±m²ti etth±pi so eva nayo. Ubb±¼hoti p²¼ito, ukkaŗµh±pito hutv±ti attho.
So sakuŗasaŖgho “bhikkhu patta½ y±cat²”ti ettha na te sakuŗ± bhikkhuno vacana½ j±nanti, bhagav± pana attano ±nubh±vena yath± j±nanti tath± ak±si.
346. Ap±ha½ te na j±n±m²ti api aha½ te jane “ke v± ime, kassa v± ime”ti na j±n±mi. SaŖgamma y±cant²ti sam±gantv± vaggavagg± hutv± y±canti. Y±cako appiyo hot²ti yo y±cati so appiyo hoti. Y±ca½ adadamappiyoti y±canti y±cita½ vuccati, y±citamattha½ adadantopi appiyo hoti. Atha v± y±canti y±cantassa, adadamappiyoti adento appiyo hoti. M± me videssan± ah³ti m± me appiyabh±vo ahu, aha½ v± tava, tva½ v± mama videsso appiyo m± ahos²ti attho.
