40. Tattha katamo suttavicayo?
Tattha kusalehi dhammehi akusalehi dhammehi pubb±paraso s±dhuka½ upaparikkhiyati. Ki½nu kho ida½ sutta½ ±rabhi…pe… tehi suttehi saha adhisannaµµhehi yujjati ud±hu na yujjat²ti?
Yath± bhagav± kilese ±dimhi tattha deseti. Ki½ desita½? Tesa½ kiles±na½ pah±na½ ud±hu no desitanti upaparikkhitabba½. Yadi na desita½ bhagavati tesa½ kiles±na½ pah±na½ kusal± dhamm± pariyesitabb± yattha te akusal± pah±na½ gacchanti. Sace samanneham±no na labhati. Tattha akusal± dhamm± apaka¹¹hitabb± v²ma½sitabb±, sa½kilesabh±giyasutta½, yadi kiles± apaka¹¹hiyant±. Ye v± na denti tattha upaparikkhitabb± ariyamaggadhamm± t±su bh³m²su kiles± pah±na½ gacchanti, ud±hu na gacchant²ti. Yattak± pana kiles± desit±. Na tattak± ariyadhamm± desit±. Yattha kiles± pah±na½ gacchanti, tattha ye kiles± ariyadhamm±na½ paµipakkhena na yujjanti, te apaka¹¹hitabb±, sace apaka¹¹hiyant± yojana½ deti. Tattha eva½ v²ma½sitabba½. Dve t²ºi v± taduttari v± kiles± ekena ariyamaggena pah±na½ gacchant²ti. Sace eva½ v²ma½siyant± yojana½ deti, tattha upaparikkhitabba½. Parampar±ya v± piµakasampad±nena v± suttassa attho ca nattho ca. Ya½ v± na sakk± sutta½ niddisitu½ neva sutta½ vicikicchitabba½. Eva½ yath± ±dimhi kusal± dhamm± honti. Ye kiles± te pah²neyy±ti. Te upaparikkhitabb±. Puro v± kusalo paµipakkhena v± puro desan±, an³n± anadhik± uggahetabb±. Yath± paµhamo uttilo yesamid±ni kiles±na½ ye ariyadhamm± desit± ime kiles± imehi ariyadhammehi pah²yanti, ud±hu nappah²yant²ti vicinitabb±. Yadi upaparikkhiyam±n± yujjanti, gahetabb±. Atha na yujjanti, ye kiles± apaµipakkh± honti, te kiles± aparipakkhitabb±. Ye ca ariyadhamm± paµipakkh± honti, te ariyadhamm± apaka¹¹hitabb± Na hi ariyadhamm± an±g±mikilesappah±na½ gacchanti, n±pi ariyadhamm± sabbakiles±na½ pah±n±ya sa½vattanti. Yath± kusal± mett± akusalo r±go na tu kusal± mett±ti k±retv± akusalassa r±gassa pah±n±ya sambhavati by±p±do mett±ya pah±na½ gacchati. Tasm± ubho kiles± upaparikkhitabb±. Yo yo ca dhammo upadisiyati kusalo v± akusalo v± so apaka¹¹hitabbo. Sace te yujjanti apaka¹¹hiyam±no natthi upaparikkhitabba½. Dve v± kiles± ekena ariyadhammena pah²neyy±ti dv²hi v± ariyadhammehi eko v± kileso pah²yat²ti.
Atha v± evampi upaparikkhiyam±na½ yujjati, tattha v²ma½sitabba½ v± yath± yujjati tattha v²ma½sitabba½ v±, yath± nanu sakk± sutta½ niddisitu½, na hi sutte vicikicchitabba½. Kileso ma½ ariyadhammesu desitesu ubhayato upaparikkhitabba½. Kira ye v± ime kiles± desit± ye ca ariyadhamm± desit± g±th±ya v± by±karaºena v±, ki½ nu kho ime kiles± imehi ariyadhammehi pah²yanti, ud±hu nappah²yanti? Ime v± ariyadhamm± imesa½ kiles±na½ pah±n±ya sa½vattant²ti. Kiñc±pi kusalehi dhammehi akusal± dhamm± pah±na½ gacchanti. Na tu sabbehi ariyadhammehi sabb±kusal± pah±na½ gacchanti. Yath± mett± kusalo akusalo ca r±go na tu kusal± mett± akusalo r±goti k±retv± mett±ya r±go pah±na½, by±p±do mett±ya pah±na½ gacchanti. Eva½ kilesoti k±retv± suttena pah±na½ gacchati. Na sutto dhammoti k±retv± sabba½ kilesassa pah±n±ya sa½vattati. Ya½ tu suttassa ariyadhammo sa½kilesapaµipakkho, so tena pah±na½ gacchat²ti.

Tattha kusale desite sutte by±karaºe v± sa½kiles± na yujjanti ariyadhamm± v±, te mah±padese niddisitabb±vayavena apaka¹¹hitabb± Tattha kilesehi ca desitehi ariyadhammesu ca yadipi tena ariyadhammena te kiles± pah±na½ gacchanti. Tatthapi uttari upaparikkhitabba½. Kena k±raºena ete kiles± pajahitabb±, kena k±raºena ariyadhamm± desit±ti? Yena yena v± ±k±rena ariyadhamm± desit±, tena tena pak±rena aya½ kileso µhito. Atthi hi eko kileso, tena v± ariyadhamm± na aññath± aññath± pah±tabbo, yath± diµµhi r±go avijj± ca dassanena pah±tabb±. S± ce evañca avijj± bh±van±ya bh³mi v± dhamm± bh±van±ya pah±tabb±. S±yeva uddha½bh±giya½ asaªkhatadassan±ya vimuttiy± animittena cetosam±dhin± amanasik±rena pah²yati. Eva½ s±ttha½ sabyañjana½ upaparikkhitabba½. Ye dassanena pah±tabb± kiles± dassan±k±rena ariyadhammo desito, bh±van±ya pah±tabb± bh±van±k±rena ariyadhammo desito, patisevan± pah±tabb± patisevan±k±rena ariyadhammo desito, eva½ vinodanapah±tabb± y±va satta ±sav± k±tabb±, y±vaññath±. Aññath± hesa dhammo pah±tabbo aññen±k±rena ariyadhammo desito, so ariyadhammo aññath± pariyesitabbo. Yadi aya½ dhammo pariyesato yo ca deseti yena yen±k±rena, so ariyadhammo pariyesitabbo, ten±k±rena kileso pah²yati. So tattha upaparikkhitabbo. Atha na yujjati yadi hi tena suttena vihita½ sutta½ v²ma½sitabba½. Yath± yujjati, tath± gahetabba½. Yath± na yujjati, tath± na gahetabba½, addh± eta½ bhagavat± na bh±sita½, ±yasmat± v± duggahita½, yath± mah±padese niddisitabba½, bhagavat± yath±bh³ta½ desita½, yo ca dhammo desito kusalo ca akusalo ca tassa dhammassa paccayo pariyesitabbo. Na hi paccay± vin± dhammo appaccayo uppajjati. Tattha ko ±k±ro pariyesan±ya?
Tattha tath±r³pa½ sahetu sappaccaya½ soya½ dhammo vuttoti ida½ v²ma½sitabba½. So ca paccayo tividho– mudu majjho adhimatto. Tattha mudumhi paccaye mududhammo gahetabbo, eva½ satyesa paccayo duvidho para½par±paccayo ca samanantarapaccayo ca. So paccayo mudutena by±dhimatta½ pariyesitabba½. Ki½ k±raºa½? Aññataropi paccayo aññehi paccayehi pariyatti½ v± p±rip³ri½ v± gacchati Tattha yo dhammo desito, tassa dhammassa etena v± k±raºena v± hetu pariyesitabbo. Yath± paccayo hetun± paccayena ca, so tassa dhammassa nissando pariyesitabbo. Yath± niddiµµho adhiµµh±ne padh±na½ pariyesati, so paccayo pariyesitabbo. Na hi mudussa dhammassa adhimatto nissando adhimattassa v± nissandassa mududhammo, atha mudussa mudu majjh±ya majjho adhimattassa adhimatto yujjati, ta½ gahetabba½, atha na yujjati na gahetabba½. Yañca bhagav± ±rabhati dhamma½ desetu½, ta½yeva dhamma½ majjhantapariyos±na½ deseti, yath± sutt±dhiµµh±ne dhamm± ±dimhi niddisati, ta½yeva bahu tassa suttassa pariyos±na½. Tassa hi dhammassa vasena ta½ sutta½ hoti g±th± v± by±karaºa½ khuddaka½ mahanta½ v±, yath± pana duvidh± anur³panti v± thapan± ca desan±thapan±. R³pantipi dhammassa pariyesitabb±. Yath± ca bhagavat± pañcanna½ indriy±na½ sa½varaºa½ desita½ taºh±ya niggahaºattha½ icch±va hoti. Deseti yath± gop±lakopame sutte aññehipi suttehi bhagav± bh±sati icch±va hoti majjhimanik±ye vitakko aya½ bhagavato desan±nur³panti iti so dhammo aññesupi veyy±karaºesu pariyesitabbo. Na hi eka½ hi sutte daµµhabbo. Yujjana½ ta½ gahetabba½.
42. Tattha katama½ anuññ±ta½? Ya½ kiñci sutta½ bhagavat± na bh±sita½ tañca suttesuyeva ndissati, evameta½ dh±retabba½. Yath± asukena bh±sitanti, ta½ sutta½ v²ma½sitabba½. Ki½ nu kho ima½ sutta½ anuññ±ta½ khama½ bhagavato ud±hu n±nuññ±ta½ khama½, kiñci r³pañca sutta½ bhagavato anuññ±ta½ khama½ kiñci r³pañca n±nuññ±ta½ khama½? Ya½ sabbaso anot±retv± dasabalo gocara½ deseti, ta½ sabba½ sutta½ bhagavato n±nuññ±ta½ khama½. Atthipi so s±vako dasabal±na½ gocara½ j±n±ti odhiso anodhiso, ta½ pana bala½ sabbaso na j±n±ti aññath± n±ma savanena, yath± ±yasmat± s±riputtena yena br±hmaºo ovadito, tassa ±yasmato natthi indriyabalavemattañ±ºa½, tena puggalaparo [puggalo paroparañca (p².)] parañca ta½ aj±nanto sati uttarikaraº²ye upp±dito, so bhagavat± apas±dito. Yath±va ±yasm± mah±kassapo bh±gineyya½ ovadati anantariyasamann±gato iddhip±µih²rena aªguliyo ad²petv± ya½ sabbesa½ dhamm±na½ kammasam±d±n±na½ hetuso µh±naso yath±bh³ta½ ñ±ºa½, tassa ±yasmato sa½vijjate, tena na½ ovadati, ta½ bhagav± karoti.
“Sacepi dasa pajjote, dh±rayissasi kassapa;
neva dakkhati r³p±ni, cakkhu tassa na vijjat²”ti.
Api ca kho yath± d³to r±javacanena sattamanus±sati, eva½ ses±nugo aññ±taka½ ghosa½ paresa½ deseti. Anuññ±takhamasutta½ gahetabba½. Ananuññ±takhama½ na gahetabba½.
Tattha katamo suttasaªkaro? Pañcavidha½ sutta½, sa½kilesabh±giya½ v±san±bh±giya½ dassanabh±giya½ bh±van±bh±giya½ asekkhabh±giya½. Añña½ ±r±dheyya añña½ deseti aññassa ca suttassa attha½ aññamhi sutte niddisati. Suttassa v± hi anek±k±ra½ attha½ niddisati. Ariyadhammas±dhane attha½ vivarati. V±san±bh±giyassa attha½ dassanabh±giyesu niddisati. Orambh±giy±na½ sa½yojan±na½ attha½ uddha½bh±giyesu niddisati. Mudumajjh±na½ indriy±na½ adhimattesu suttesu niddisati. Iti aya½ sutta½ sambheda½ hetun± ca nissandena ca phalena ca niddesena ca mudumajjh±dhimattat±yapi ca atthena ca byañjanena ca yo sambhedo, aya½ vuccati suttasaªkaro. Yo asambhedo, aya½ vuccati suttavicayo.
