R±j± ±ha “bhante n±gasena, ki½ tumhe at²tassa dukkhassa pah±n±ya v±yamath±”ti? “Na hi, mah±r±j±”ti. “Ki½ pana, bhante, an±gatassa dukkhassa pah±n±ya v±yamath±”ti? “Na hi, mah±r±j±”ti. “Ki½ pana paccuppannassa dukkhassa pah±n±ya v±yamath±”ti? “Na hi, mah±r±j±”ti. “Yadi tumhe na at²tassa dukkhassa pah±n±ya v±yamatha, na an±gatassa dukkhassa pah±n±ya v±yamatha, na paccuppannassa dukkhassa pah±n±ya v±yamatha, atha kimatth±ya v±yamath±”ti. “Bhiyyo opamma½ karoh²ti. “Ta½ ki½ maññasi, mah±r±ja, yad± tva½ pip±sito bhaveyy±si, tad± tva½ udap±na½ khaº±peyy±si, pokkharaºi½ khaº±peyy±si, ta¼±ka½ khaº±peyy±si ‘p±n²ya½ piviss±m²”’ti? “Na hi, bhante, paµikacceva ta½ paµiyatta½ hot²”ti. “Kissatth±y±”ti? “An±gat±na½, bhante, pip±s±na½ paµib±hanatth±ya paµiyatta½ hot²”ti. “Atthi pana, mah±r±ja, an±gat± pip±s±”ti? “Natthi, bhante”ti. “Tumhe kho, mah±r±ja, atipaº¹it± ye tumhe asant±na½ an±gat±na½ pip±s±na½ paµib±hanatth±ya ta½ paµiy±deth±”ti.
