“Ki½ nu kho, bhante n±gasena, paµhama½ cakkhuviññ±ºa½ uppajjati, pacch± manoviññ±ºa½, ud±hu manoviññ±ºa½ paµhama½ uppajjati, pacch± cakkhuviññ±ºan”ti? “Paµhama½, mah±r±ja, cakkhuviññ±ºa½ uppajjati, pacch± manoviññ±ºan”ti.
“Ki½ nu kho, bhante n±gasena, cakkhuviññ±ºa½ manoviññ±ºa½ ±º±peti ‘yatth±ha½ uppajj±mi, tvampi tattha uppajj±h²’ti, ud±hu manoviññ±ºa½ cakkhuviññ±ºa½ ±º±peti ‘yattha tva½ uppajjissasi, ahampi tattha uppajjiss±m²”’ti? “Na hi, mah±r±ja, an±l±po tesa½ aññamaññeh²”ti.
“Katha½ bhante n±gasena, yattha cakkhuviññ±ºa½ uppajjati, tattha manoviññ±ºampi uppajjat²”ti? “Ninnatt± ca, mah±r±ja, dv±ratt± ca ciººatt± ca samud±caritatt± c±”ti.
“Katha½, bhante n±gasena, ninnatt± yattha cakkhuviññ±ºa½ uppajjati, tattha manoviññ±ºampi uppajjati? Opamma½ karoh²”ti. “Ta½ ki½ maññasi, mah±r±ja, deve vassante katamena udaka½ gaccheyy±”ti? “Yena, bhante, ninna½, tena gaccheyy±”ti. “Ath±parena samayena devo vasseyya, katamena ta½ udaka½ gaccheyy±”ti. “Yena, bhante, purima½ udaka½ gata½, tampi tena gaccheyy±”ti.

Apepamma½ karoh²”ti. “Ta½ ki½ maññasi, mah±r±ja, rañño paccantima½ nagara½ assa da¼hap±k±ratoraºa½ ekadv±ra½, tato puriso nikkhamituk±mo bhaveyya, katamena nikkhameyy±”ti? “Dv±rena, bhante, nikkhameyy±”ti. “Ath±paro puriso nikkhamituk±mo bhaveyya, katamena so nikkhameyy±”ti? “Yena, bhante, purimo puriso nikkhanto, sopi tena nikkhameyy±”ti.

Evameva kho, mah±r±ja, samud±caritatt± yattha cakkhuviññ±ºa½ uppajjati, tattha manoviññ±ºampi uppajjati, na cakkhuviññ±ºa½ manoviññ±ºa½ ±º±peti ‘yatth±ha½ uppajj±mi, tvampi tattha uppajj±h²’ti, n±pi manoviññ±ºa½ cakkhuviññ±ºa½ ±º±peti ‘yattha tva½ uppajjissasi, ahampi tattha uppajjiss±m²’ti, an±l±po tesa½ aññamaññehi, samud±caritatt± uppajjant²”ti.
